Location. Nice easy walk into town. Needed upgraded. Breakfast poor. Entertainment lounge quite untidy, with chairs shoved in corners. Definitely not welcoming.

I stayed at this Hotel with my teenage n forso my daughters wedding. It was a fine basic good value for money. When I first arrived there in the car we thought it didnt look very nice but once inside it was fine and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very wet and windy weekend when we stayed so only had a quick walk to the beach. It had a fishermans convention on the weekend we stayed and was full of older people.

I liked and appreciated the friendly, helpful attitude of all the staff. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Although the hotel is a little dated and probably in need of some refurbishment, it is nonetheless clean, warm and comfortable. Its location on the seafront is also very good indeed. Can't think of anything.

We were in Dunoon for the Cowal Games and the hotel was easily accessible. I felt that the housekeeping should be checked on by the proprietors, i.e., chairs in our room were very dirty, badly stained and covered in dust.

Friendly start at Reception, given room and find a pleasant well fitted out room with all the attachments that you expect. Bedding was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was served with good manners from a good menu. All in all a good pleasant stay.

As I was a single traveller I appreciated the fact that the hotel had entertainment in the evening. I thought Hotel was over-priced. Cabaret act on Wednesday evening - at one point during the act he lifted his kilt to display his "bare bottom" - I felt this was inappropriate bearing in mind the age group of the audience were in their 70s.

I liked the sea view that we had from our room and the lovely garden at the front looking on to the sea and promenade. The breakfast was good and included in the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a good base to explore other parts of the Cowal Peninsula. The one lift was rather narrow and dated and in an area beside a storage cupboard. Although the en-suite room was clean there was a draft from the right hand of the window. There was a convector heater in the room which we had to use once when it was quite windy, as well as central heating radiators. The second floor where we had our room is in need of brightening up and perhaps new carpets. The age of residents was about 65 to 80 and the entertainment provided may have suited this age range. I would recommend it for this age group.
