Friendly staff and great location on seafront. Within walking distance to pier. Family room was very well set up with partition wall separating two single beds for kids from main area whilst remaining within the same room. Excellent design as adults could stay up after kids fell asleep. No complaints whatsoever

We stay here every year as we have family in Clacton. It's an excellent location and has a car park. Rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable and perfect if you just want to stay for one or two days. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. Waitress very pleasant and helpful. Bathroom was very cold and the toilet paper could be better quality. Biscuits with the hot drinks would be a nice touch. Hotel hairdryer's safety testing was very out of date. We did report this. (We usually stay in August so the cold bathroom has not been such a problem.) NB Hotel is under new ownership (just taken over) and was starting to be redecorated. Was informed that the bathrooms would be replaced. I told him of the above!

My partner and I had a most enjoyable stay the staff were all very very pleasant and the room was good nice and big and had a lovely view over the sea and pier with our own balcony Location was excellent, I feel this was very reasonably priced and would book again although I do feel the Honeymoon suite which we were upgraded to for free could be a bit more luxurious, having said that we had a lovely time and would definately return. Thankyou all.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, carrying bags for us. The evening meal was superb - well cooked and beautifully presented. It is a little tired looking. Car park is very small and the access to it was through a small door at the back.

The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Room we had was more than ample in size and spotless as far as we could see We had al a carte meal the first night.... Tasty, but not really al a carte As not many people there mid week, rooms abit chilly as heating was restricted. However a heater was supplied as soon as this was mentioned to staff

As we were only staying 2nights and there was a slip up with our rooms,we were moved to the room we payed for on the secondnight, it was all done without any bother to us. But our bill was more than quoted on internet. The Hotel states that they have parking, but it was very limited we were never able to park, however were able to park opposite hotel in the road.

The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel is situated away from the main part of Clacton and right on top of the sea front. The view from our bedroom window was excellent.

The staff were so welcoming and positive, and the hotel itself was quite lovely, and in a perfect location. I loved it, cannot speak too highly of it, and will most certainly return.

Nothing.. This is a run down shabby hotel in need of a full refit ...the honeymoon suite we booked with yourselves should not be advertised as this..it is a box standard sea view room..we have travelled extensivly around the world and we have stayed in better rooms in third world countries..

I like dthe view from my window, and the breakfast was good. The room was old-fashioned and the shower/toilet room very small with a tiny basin.

Nice Location, Nice sea view. Nice to have a bar in the hotel. Good value for a 2 star. Didn't like the way I was nearly forced to give up my car keys to use the car park, didn't bother the following night.

The staff were really courteous and kind. Its an old hotel, so don' t expect cool fittings etc, but it's a step back in time, basic, good location facing the sea and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Bucket and Spade Fun!

clean friendly hotel right on the seafront. sea view room had a very good sea view. the strange way of serving breakfast and carvery, you told them what you wanted and they put it on the plate. i am used to a buffet that you would help yourself.I suppose they serve that way so that people had smaller servings. the breakfast was cooked very well , whereas the carvery meat was cooked well but getting only half a slice of pork and the same of turkey was extreamly mean.also the roast potatoes was not roasted at all.

The young lady at breakfast was a real asset to the hotel, bright and bubbly, breakfast was good too. We stayed in 2 rooms on 2 differernt nights due to a mix up. The first room was the premier one which was fine... 2nd room normal double and was something I would expect to find in a £30 a night back street hostel. Room was filthy, and decor a disgrace. If you want to stay here and cant afford the premier room..... dont bother unless your standards are very very low. Very disapointed.

Location In the evening on the sunday 28th august 2011, we watched the fire work display. Then went in the bar for a drink me and my partner felt we were in the way, with the gentleman serving behind the bar.

Hotel Manager/Owner was extremely friendly, Good full English breakfast and good value for money. The Hotel was acceptable bearing in mind you get what you paid for. We stayed only one night and had no complaints. We would be prepared to stay over should the need arise.

Nice place to spend a few days away, breakfast very good. Car parking at hotel is poor, We parked in multi storey during day, then moved car to side road in evening. This may be a problem if you are there all week,(we just had two days).

“I loved the idea of continental breakfast in my room. Microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, fresh loaf of bread every day. Plus ther was butter, marg, cheese, yoghurts, cereal, fresh milk, orange juice, fresh fruit, tea coffee, sugar, all in endless amounts. wonderful for people who do not eat cooked breakfast and want a long lie in each morning. Plus it was great to have toast and jam before bedtime. Yum yum. There were in the process of having the whole place redecorated and am looking forward to seeing it finished when I go back, yes I will definitly be going to stay there again. Great for singles, couples and families. Good size bathroom as well . Thankyou Brunton House.” Carole, Chippenham |
