A warm welcome is assured at this hotel in Clacton-on-Sea, ideal for spring and autumn breaks. The picturesque countryside is dotted with charming towns and villages.

The Esplanade Hotel is ideally situated on the seafront. It is south- facing and overlooks the sea. Attractive views may be enjoyed from the garden, public rooms and many of the bedrooms. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting Constable country and historic Colchester. The bar, Restaurant and lounge are easily accessible and the rooms are with limited disable access. The location is quiet yet very convenient, a short easy walk to the pier, attractions and town centre. Clacton-on-Sea is located on the Essex sunshine coast. The gardens are superb and the pier offers free entry with many attractions.We have wireless internet as well as telephone network facilities or you may hire our laptop and work in the bar/lounge while you enjoy a drink. Please be aware that the hotel has no lift.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

We do not have any lift .There is no night porter so if you are arriving later than 11PM , please ring and let us know your arrival time so that we can make arrangements to check you in

Parking is limited. All guests who park in the car park are required to leave their car keys at the reception.

Food & beverage

Our chef will provide meals to suit your requirements, from buffets to banquets. Traditional Sunday lunch and set menu & à la carte.

Breakfast is served from 08:00 until 09:30.
Lunch is served from 12:00 until 14:00.
Dinner is served from 18:30 until 20:30.

Room information

The Esplanade Hotel has 32 comfortable and well-equipped rooms, including family rooms and rooms on the ground floor. A complete list of the facilities available can be found in each of the individual room descriptions.

Many of the rooms have sea views and the popular premier bedrooms offer extra space, additional comfort and upgraded amenities, such as minibars. Rooms with 4-poster beds are available for that special occasion.

The hotel offers special facilities for disabled guests, wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility.

The receptionist asked if we'd like an upgrade and as we were only staying one night didn't bother. On hindsight we should have done. For £55 I think that particular room should have been cheaper and perhaps for only single occupancy! It is not very pleasant having the toilet in a cupboard and wash hand basin outside of that area in a tiny space that you can hardly access!! This is not acceptable.

location of hotel was very good walking distance to pier and town excellent. breakfast was very good plenty of food and drink

hotel room was o.k i think for the price you pay the interior could look smarter bathroom very poor needs modernising
