I booked a double and single room both for £55/room. However only the double had breakfast included and I only noticed this after I made the booking. I mentioned this at the hotel check in and they included the single room breakfast FOC. I was disappointed that even though breakfast was until 10am when we arrived at 9.30 there was very little left and the staff had to start cooking from fresh. However the sasuages were only half cooked! I would only stay here as a stop over. |

Efficient if less than enthusiastic welcome, Spacious rooms, bar facilities, handy location - airfield and Southend, clean. Plenty towels, toilet roll, tissues, coffee/drink facilities in room, tv good, good to have bidet but no hot water and cold could not be fully turned off. Personal preference but would prefer duvet to blankets, no toilet brush in en-suite, faded carpet let down rest of decor, light switches somewhat idiosyncratic |

It was convienent to where we was going that night When we arrived there was a sheet indicating surcharges for paying by credit card or debit card. These were not notified to us prior to our stay, nor on our confirmed booking. When paying I was only charged the amount on the confirmed booking via your web site, but feel you should be aware of this as the justification given was related to credit crunch/bank chares. |

The hotel was well maintained, Staff friendly and services good. Parking was good, the food was also good. The room i satyed in was a little dated but clean, close proximity to the Airport means you do get some noise but this has to be expected. |

Large bed. Fairly quiet room. Very old and tired. Over priced. No food or room service. Lumpy pillows. Noisy 1970's bathroom. Worn out décor. Unfriendly bar. Would not recommend. Ever. |

The friendliness of the staff with the exception of 2 people who are not suited to the job they are doing because they were negative, offhand and sometimes very rude. The food was above average for that category of hotel. The hotel staff are going through a time of uncertainty due to the expansion plans for Southend Airport. The uncertainty of the future of the hotel and the negativity of some staff because of it. I will be disappointed if I cannot stay there on my next visit to Southend because I enjoyed my stay there and bonded well with most of the staff. I visit Southend 3/4 times each year because I have a son and 2 granddauhters in that area. |
