ibis Budget Hotel Birmingham Centre (Ex ETAP)

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Das Hotel ist gut schallisoliert, und wenn man ein Zimmer nach hinten bucht, auch sehr ruhig. Alles Notwendige ist in gutem Zustand vorhanden.

Der Aufzug funktioniert offensichtlich seit längerem nicht, es wird auch älteren Besuchern nur zögerlich Hilfe bei dem Gepäcktransport angeboten. Das Frühstück ist für europäische Verhältnisse sehr "continental" (kein Ei, keine Wurst, kaum Käse. Der Parkplatz ist oft überbelegt, so dass man bei abendlicher Ankunft in Schwierigkeiten kommen kann, obwohl man 24 Stunden bezahlt hat.

Sehr günstiger Preis, dafür ein modern eingerichtetes Zimmer, hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter, saubere Bettwäsche, sauberes Bad, keine Anzeichen von Schimmel oder Staub. Besonders hat mir gefallen, dass die Zimmer im Normalfall täglich gereinigt werden, hängt man allerdings das "Bitte nicht stören"-Schild an die Tür, bekommt man trotzdem ein "Paket" mit sauberen Handtüchern, Toilettenpapier etc vor die Tür gestellt. Außerdem hat mich die Sauberkeit bei diesem Preis und einem englischen Hotel wirklich positiv überrascht. Ich bin sehr penibel wenn es darum geht, mich in einem Zimmer und vor allem einem bett wohlzufühlen, aber hier hat alles gepasst. Es war wirklich ein schöner Aufenthalt. Das Hotel ist sehr modern eingerichtet und hell. Die Rezeption war 24 Stunden besetzt. Wirklich Top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!

Das Bett hat leider ziemlich geknarrt beim bewegen, trotzdem war es recht bequem und an das Knarren hat man sich auch schnell gewöhnt. Außerdem gab es keine Luxus-Extras wie Fön, Wasserkocher, etc. Meiner Meinung nach ist das aber auch nicht nötig. Dafür ist das Hotel ja wirklich sehr günstig.

Wir wurden nur per Aushang darüber informiert, dass es zwischen 21:00 und 04:00 Uhr kein Wasser, keine Duschmöglichkeit und keine Toilettennutzung geben würde. Dies war untragbar!!!

Staff were very helpful when I couldn't find it, and very friendly and helpful when we arrived. Clean room.

A room for up to 3 people had 1 double bed and a tiny bunk that was pretty difficult to get into and fit into. As an adult. Lucky there were only two friends staying, not three as there were only two beds. One of them not even a bed! Luckily one of us is rather short and athletic. Very noisy traffic. Access to city centre through underpasses full of dodgy characters.

Elevator has been out of order for 6 months now. Going to the 3rd floor with heavy luggage was a pain.

Location was good + parking handy. Easy to walk to centre.

No kettle or toliteries in room.

The bed was comfortable

No bath, but the worst things was that neither lift was working. I have trouble with going up stairs due to a medical condition, so I had to leave my family there and sleep elsewhere overnight. Very disappointed. I met an old man who had had three operations and he was staying for four nights. He was very upset that he hadn't been informed of the lifts. He should have been moved.

I've been staying there on and off over the last few months and I just wish they would sort the lift out as I think it was only working when I stayed there the first time. Since then it has been out of order and this last stay I was on the third floor.

Proximity to the city centre, O2,main road network good. No fuss basic rooms for the traveller in need of function over form. Decent shower power.

Very limited parking (was full when I arrived) caused headache. Not an area to leave a nice car on the street! Lift was out of order,stairwell smelt damp/unclean Traffic noise continually intrusive through wall vent (window closed) a lot of the night. Ok if you have been out for a beer after a gig at O2; not so good if you are on a different kind of visit .... No bar just self serve cafe arrangement, not very pleasant to sit in.

Cheap and cheerful. Good location. Cheerful staff.

Bag of illegal drugs were discovered by our nine-year-old daughter in our room. Staff had an inability to see the importance of this and were inadequate in dealing with the matter. We were close to calling in the police to resolve the situation and with hindsight we perhaps should have done. We were told the manager was not in, so on checking out the following morning we left a name and number for someone to call us, but 24 hours later no-one had done so. We had to telephone the hotel ourselves to again request someone to call us. Everyone blamed 'housekeeping' for not finding the packet of drugs, but failed to see the horror of our daughter discovering illegal drugs stored on the mattress of her bunk bed. We would have left the hotel and sought accommodation elsewhere, but we were attending an event that evening and had no time to make alternative arrangements. We were given a full refund, but were astonished that we had to make four visits to reception before the situation was properly dealt with. The incident soured our weekend away and left us having to explain the situation to our nine-year-old. On a lesser note, the lifts did not work and there was no bath mat.

I am disabled and your lift has not be working for the last two visits. I had to carry my luggage up four flights of stairs so did not go out to eat.

Rooms were clean, well maintained. Towels, cups and hand soap were provided

If you are staying during a weekend, be prepared for drunk fights and shouting outside the hotel, which we painfully experienced. Also, both elevators broke down during the duration of our stay. A total nightmare if you were carrying alot of baggage.

I stayed in room 139, and it was absolutely disgusting to look out on the balcony.. It was very filthy- i felt like climbing out and giving it a good sweep.

I like the proximity to the city centre.

I did not like the fact that the lifts weren't working and we had to carry heavy loads up and down 6 floors. No one was kind enough to apologise or let me know what went wrong and the solution. All I got was a promise that new lift ordered would soon arrive - by which time the evil's been done and I am 000's of miles away. I did not like fact that there were no phones in the rooms to call even the front desk at an emergency. When you call with the 'so-called' emergency phone, no one answers.
