Price was good as was the comfortable bed. Shower was good. Have to bring own shower gel, soap. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Lot of renovation work seemed to be going on on my corridor necessitating plastic sheets all along the corridor.

This is a budget hotel and much like the airlines you pay for every extra like a kettle (£5 refundable) +£2 for the coffee/tea stuff. Breakfast too is a little basic, mostly Bread and cardboard Muesli. Parking is an additional £4 per day and should be considered in the price. But with all that being said the room shower and loo were all clean and for me thats very important, something the likes of travel lodge don't always remember. if you are looking for posh then look elsewhere, but if you are looking for cheap dependable place to stay then this is the place. I went to the ICC convention centre which is a mile away, and a 20 min walk but if you'r not up to that there are plenty of taxis, road noise is a bit off putting but hey it's a city! would stay again Like I said a bit noisy with a main road so close, but unlike some budget hotels I have stayed in you can't hear your neighbour snoring, breakfast is an additional £3.75 and a bit limiting, okay if you like chocolate spread and toast though. They were busy upgrading when I went and the TV's didn't work, but as it was the weekend of the digital switchover that is likely to improve. General moan about wireless, couldn't quite get it to work when I stayed, but when it does, like too many other hotels they charge you a fortune to use it.

The location was so convenient, it is 10 minutes walk to the Bull Ring where you can find nice restaurants and shopping. You can park around the hotel for free after certain hours no need to pay for parking on the hotel car park. room was tiny, dusty and it smells of stale air. Staff do need new uniforms and a little bit more presentable. Air conditioning wasn't working properly in out room, appliances should be check in an interim basis.

The room was very comfortable and pleasant. The shower and the toilet and the room in a whole was very clean. I specially liked the table next to the window and the TV. The furniture of the room was modern looking, nothing was in excess, nothing was missing, just perfect balance. In general I have very good impressions form the hotel and will recommend it.

Everything was good, except I was disappointed there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room. We were woken early hours of the morning by party revellers but we expected this due to previous reviews. Breakfast was excellent for the price. Parking was a bargain at £4 for 24 hours. Perhaps tea/coffee facilities could be given as a gesture on request. Definitely be returning if the price is as reasonable next time

The hotel was ideally situated for my business needs. After the initial shock about the size of the room or cell. It turned out to be quite functional. The room was also of a modern design. The area in which the hotel was situated was run down, and situated adjacent to a busy dual carriageway. The walk to city centre involved negotiating a couple of pedestrian underpasses often frequented by dubious characters. As far as the hotel goes the room was very small

location the bathroom....because it's not a bathroom, the room to the shower was see through glass, all the other people in the room could see the person having a shower! the toilet was just about fitted into the smallest space ever....tip for the hotel knock down the toilet door and turn the shower cubicle / toilet into a wet room there would be more space for the guests and a little bit of privacy! we were sharing a triple room, i have no problems with climbing up a bunk bed.....but the ladder was so tight (im only a size 10) a fat person would of never got up, way too small. also we had payed for a late check out we were disturbed x2 times by housekeeping wanying a receipt to prove that we had pre arranged late check out, also we were positioned directly underneath the most powerfull wahingmachine in the world....so a lie in is something i did not have! not happy. we had booked to stay in may,but ive cancelled that booking, no way would i go back, the room was as big as a stamp. no plugs to use hairdryer etc

The price was good and location was excellent. No tea/coffee facilities, bed was uncomfortable, like a sofa bed.staff were short and snappy and one didn't even know what she was doing. And it was £1.40 for a cup of tea that was about half the size of an ordinary mug.

Good value for money, comfortable and clean. Scent of stale cigarette smoke in room despite non-smoking. The room, in my opinion, would be more suitable for a family/couple than friends. The room is very restricted for space and the shower enters into the middle of the bedroom, so is not very private. The toilet is also very small. There is a lot of traffic noise from the adjacent road.

I like the room environment, it is bright and clean, and the hotel exceed my expectation, so close to new street station and the shopping mall. Quite nice. I will choose Etap if I travel Birmingham again. I have written 2 emails to the hotel asked how to get to the hotel if I am in new street station, but unfortunately, no reply.

Clean and tidy, with basic utilties. Practical and good value for money. No hair driers were available though, even upon request from reception. There were no hair driers available in the hotel, we were told they all have been given out for the day. Shampoo is sold seperately, as well as the shower gel.

Although the hotel resembles a prison block the room was clean and fairly comfortable. A kettle in the room would have been nice to be able to make a cuppa though. Staff were friendly and helpful. As we only used it as an overnight stay en route to Birmingham airport, the hotel served our needs. However, bumping into "working girls" leaving the hotel very early in the morning was slightly disconcerting
