It was close for were we needed to be on our stay
The heating didn't work, and because of the window not being sealed propperly it was very cold. Told the staff they said it's the same in every room there is nothing they could have done bar move rooms which wouldn't have made a diffence.
It could be cleaner (no complains about the bed or toilet facilities, but floors and walls did not seem cleaned for us). Other Ibis Budget hotels are preserved better.
The rooms were well decorated and clean, with shower and separate WC. TV was a decent size, with built in free view, and WiFi was an added bonus.
Would have preferred to have a kettle in the room, and the shower door, although opaque, didn't really provide much privacy, especially with a large hole cut out of it that served as the handle!
Helpful staff. Very clean. Value for money.
Lack of tea & coffee making in room considering the price paid
The staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful. The room was in perfect condition, very clean with a very comfortable bed. The staff were helpful on directing us to the NIA, which was only about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. It was also only about 10 minutes to the bull ring, a brilliant shopping centre. In the morning the breakfast, which was an all you eat buffet for £4.99, was delicious. There was a choice of cereal, yogurt, toast, rolls, cheese, ham and continental pastures. The free ironing facilities were also very handy.
There was nothing I didn't like about my stay or the hotel.
Location was great for what we wanted. Cheap too.
The bed was rock solid.
Room size fine shower clean
Stained bed sheets
Staff very friendly & helpful Reasonable price
Bed was a bit too hard for our liking No kettle in room Didn't think we should have to pay for parking in Hotel
Friendly staff, very clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Plus they were friendly to our dog!
Bit tight for space, but good value for money.
Friendly staff. Clean. Excellent shower. Free wifi (though the strength wasn't great).
The beds are so uncomfortable I could barely sleep and was hardly able to walk within 24 hours as a result of how hard they are. Parking is expensive considering you've already paid to stay in the hotel. I was on the road-side of the hotel and could hear traffic so clearly it felt as if the window was actually open. The room has climate control rather than heating - not good at this time of year - I was cold.
Considering it was cheap, everything was perfect.
Toilet wouldn't flush very well!
First time I’ve stayed in an Ibis and was impressed by the well-designed functionality of the room - little details like the shower pod, wall-mounted table and the lighting. Hotel is about a fifteen-minute walk from Birmingham New Street down a dual carriageway, but the hotel’s set back from the road and the traffic isn’t too loud. Friendly welcome at reception and reliable free wifi. Although not mentioned on the website, drinks and food are available from fridges by reception. Liked the relaxed vibe - there was a communal area by reception with a big screen TV and a few people watching the football.
The room was very comfortable
I had to constantly swipe the card on my door to get in. Very frustrating!
The cost of the room is very reasonable, location is ideal for those wanting quick access to the city centre for shopping or for a night out. Room is basic but well maintained and with good facilites.
Parking is an issue, even though you pay for a space you could return in the evening after being out for the day to find no spaces. The car park is over subscribed, a money making scheme. Being in prime location for a good night out and being cheap, it does attract those wishing to enjoy their night a bit too much. Making finding their room a noisy affair in the early hours.
The room had all the right facilities.
However, the toilet was very small and door did shut properly. I initially was given a room facing the main road and the noise from traffic and people being rowdy outdoors meant no sleep during the night. Even though staff changed my room the next day, they made an error and gave my room to other people whilst I went out which meant I had to be given a third room. I would not recommend.
Handy for visiting our daughter at her uni.
No spare toilet roll. Less than half a roll in loo. Sink blocked with hair. Having to pay over the odds for a coffee from reception.
It took me 20 minutes door-to-door to my office in Snowhill. I have been using Ibis Budget Hotel for the past 6 weeks. Rooms are clean. Value for money.
It will be perfect if a electric kettle is provided in the room. Would like to have a hot drink especially in cold weather.
Value for money and staff were helpful
To pay for parking and still not guaranteed a parking space
The tv had 9 channels and you got free wifi and you had light switch settings on the beds and you could turn the heating up and down
The beds were awful, one of the beds wasn't made up and the sheets were left in the middle of the bed, the shower was open view, no curtain or anything and a mirror straight across from it and two mirrors across the wall so no matter what you could see into shower!! Had to block off the mirror with coats but still really badly laid out if I'm honest
Efficient clean and comfortable
Great value, good location
Getting woken up at 8am after a heavy night out by girls banging on doors...to be expected though
I travelled with my 8 year old daughter for a mid week city break during the February school holidays for Cadbury world. We enjoyed staying in this hotel, it was nicely designed, clean and comfortable and the price was very reasonable. We had a perfectly clean and warm room, a little flat screen TV, free Wi fi, and a nice bed. The hotel itself is a short walk from the New street train station where we took the train to Bournville (a 12 minutes' ride) and pretty close to the bull ring and the city centre for museums, shopping and getting dinner.good all round value.
The heating system was audible at night, the sound was a bit quieter than an old style refrigerator. However we were too tired for it to keep us awake.
