It was in a quiet location which was lovely, although it was only 10/15 minute drive into Stratford. Hotel staff were polite, breakfast was good. The bad wasn't very comfy, sunk in the middle. The doors in the corridor tend to bang when people shut them, which disturbed our sleep, aswell as late night revellers shouting to each other at 3.30am on their way to bed!! A bit of consideration to other hotel guests wouldn't have gone amiss, they weren't the only ones staying there! I think photos of the whole of the outside would give a more honest picture. Not very cosy and would't use it as for a romantic break. No atmosphere. But practical for business, conference etc.

Decent Hotel for a short stay. Seemed to be a staff shortage. Had to wait 15 minutes in a queue to check in. Then had to wait for bar food although staff apologised and offered a free drink.

The weather was nice ! The Hotel was awful, Just a catalog of disasters from start to finish, the room we were given was dark and dingy, bathroom filthy, carpets not hoovered during our three day stay. Bathroom fan not working, dirty plates in the restaurant, Sauna not working...it just goes on and the staff just did not seem interesed. We were on the ground floor and the view from our window was a Builders skip plonked outside the window.

Myself and my boyfriend had a great time at the Ettington Chase, We checked into the hotel room and the receptionist was very friendly. The room was clean and modern and we were informed of the leisure facilities available and times when breakfast and dinner was served. The food was great with a wide variety of food and beverages to choose from. The leisure facilities were easily accessible and included in the price. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

The beds are absolutely awful, too hard to get a good nights sleep on. And you dont get to stay in the lovely manor house in the picture its a con you go through the Kevin McCloud glass extension to the side and its just a big sprawling conference centre. The swimming pool and sauna is nice though and the staff are lovely. They need to upgrade the beds and get some memory foam mattress's or toppers at least. Worse beds ever to sleep on. How can they be classed as 4 star with beds like these! Unbelievable!

First impressions: easy parking; friendly and informative staff; up-to- date decor with no chintz, and best of all, there were no 'hotel' smells - dirty upholstery, air fresheners, etc; there was a lift; and the room was clean and smart, with a good shower in bathroom The beds were poor quality, and one had springs that were visible at the sides - barely covered by thin cotton - no support whatsoever. For this reason alone I wouldn't recommend the hotel. The hairdryer had to have a switch depressed continually, to work (will bring my own next time) There was a lack of shelves and hanging hooks in bathroom - difficult for two people to find space to hang or place towels, clothes, toiletries. Buffet breakfast was basic, and staff had to be 'caught' to order tea/coffee. All these things could be easily remedied - better- quality mattresses, extra hooks and shelves in bathroom, 'normal' hairdryer, a few 'add-ons' for breakfast eg potato cakes, fruit yoghurt, and fresh fruit salad (very important!)

A quiet peaceful hotel in a secluded location , breakfast was excellent ,didn't try evening meal as nothing on the menu appealed to us . The bar meal was good if a little pricey ,second time we've been ther ,last time was 18 yrs ago and would go back again Price of evening meal is rather expensive compared to local pub / restaurants and cheapest bottle of wine is £19.50 !!!

The hotel room was clean and modern. Breakfast was good/ Check in was very poor - kept me waiting for 40 mins. And a whole queue of others. One couple in queue said it happend to them the last time. Walked passed a couple going to our room and heard an unhappy guest tell the manager he was going to sue her for thousands as she had ruined his weekend!.. Whilst the staff were pleasant they appeared to be completely inexperienced/weak in managing customers. When I was being served and a queue of people behind me the receptionist kept answering the phone and getting distracted. She should have let the phone ring and dealt with clients in front of her.

Lovely room. Great pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Friendly, helpful staff. Reaonable price. Would have liked more pillows in room for bed - one each not enough for us!. Only a little thing but would have liked biscuits with the tea/coffee making facilities.

Although the hotel was beautiful, for me the staff made the stay what it was in particular a lady called Helen who worked on reception. I found Helen to be helpful, knowledgeable and extremly professional, nothing was too much trouble for her despite being busy and all this was done with a smile on her face. There is no doubt in my mind I will be returning at some stage.

The restaurant was very good Upon arrival they didn't know who we were, then when they found out who we were (30 mins) we were told our room wasn't ready at 4pm when check in is from 2pm, we were sent to the bar to wait where we purchased 2 coffees which cost us £8. After 30 minutes I went back to reception to enquire about our room and was given another room which was ready however we were given a standard double when we had booked and paid for an executive room. At this stage I had give up and didn't want to waste any more time being hostile at reception so I stayed there and confronted them upon leaving for a refund of the difference. Very dissapointed ! Additionally there was banging of doors until the early hours of the morning.

Facilities were great we had a problem with the shower in our room which was cold and took 20 mins to heart up - I complained and was told someone would come and have a look to fix the problem, I was 30 mins to no avail so had to call down to reception again before the manager came up and ran all the taps. Luckily the manager was fab and moved us to another room, unfortunately there were Christmas events on both nights we were there which meant we were kept up the first night by a dj and partygoers being rather loud so not really the relaxing break we were after. After mentioning this to the receptionist things were better on the second night just unfortunate we were in a room about the main entrance/exit so had to listen to all the revellers! With all the facilities on offer - swimming pool/jacuzzi gym I do think they should offer better toiletries below average and no conditioner for hair which after a swim is must.

Very efficient reception staff. Room was large and modern. Seemed more geared up as a conference/business hotel so not ideal for a romantic getaway.

Staff has no record of our reservation and weren't sure whether or not we had already paid(!); drunken guests were very loud in the hallway outside our room, intermittently, until 2:00am.
