The New Inn, near Stratford upon Avon, is a family run and well-known starting point for several walks.
Score from 357 reviews Very good
Sitting on 65 acres of beautiful English countryside, just 10 minutes from highway M40, lies the Barceló Walton Hotel. Historical Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon are both just 20 minutes away.
Score from 147 reviews Very good
Situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, close to of Stratford-upon-Avon, this impressive Grade II listed building offers free Wi-Fi and free parking. The popular restaurant serves fresh, seasonal food....
Score from 74 reviews Good
On 12 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland, this ivy-draped guest hotel serves real ales in its wooden-beamed bar. Locally sourced, seasonal produce is used in the restaurant’s homemade dishes.
Score from 150 reviews Good
The pool was lovely as were the grounds
Asked for a quiet room, we were kept awake until gone 1am! and woken again at 6am.. made to feel like we were in the way as we were told children were not allowed in the pool after 7pm (although told earlier in the day we were allowed in until 10pm)
location was nice ,nice surrounding area and plenty of parking spaces.
bathroom was dated and not really a four star hotel more a three star in my opinion
Nice and comfortable bedrooms
Not all taxi's would take us there after a certain time Bathroom didn't match the standard of the bedroom.
Room, reception and facilities
No biscuits in room
Great location to Strattford on Avon and great charm about the building
Front of house staff great. Very accommodating and patient Location good and parking plentiful
Poor housekeeping. Room not made up until late. Sheets were not changed during our 4 day stay. Restaurant menu poor and pricey. No staff at bar all day, had to wait 30 minutes to get a drink.
The pool facilities were good.
Very misleading photos of the exterior with the quaint old building being the main picture for the appearance of the hotel on all the websites, however when you arrive the hotel is so much bigger than it appeared to be with several very large (and unattractive) buildings having been added on to the original building that features in all the photos. This was not what we were expecting and it reminded us of the Shrek film when the fairy godmother's business card shows a picture of a little cottage but actually when you zoom out you see that this little cottage is actually attached to a large polluting factory.
The original building is lovely and once you are inside the hotel all areas are very nicely decorated.
The hotel had wedding parties on both nights of our stay and despite our room being on the 2nd floor the music, and in particular the live band made getting to sleep more challenging even after a long drive! Felt the refreshments in the room weren't generous i.e. only enough to have one hot drink each. I didn't have a hair dyer in my room and my friend didn't have the hotel guide in hers
Staff and facilities. We also used nearby chequers gastro pub.
Comfortable beds, quiet room. Gave us what we needed for one night for a theatre visit.
Slightly too far from Stratford, no breakfast included.
The pool was great and my son was in there every morning and evening. I particularly liked the jacuzzi. The kids menu in the restaurant was very reasonable.
It would have been nice if there were chairs or loungers by the pool, so parents could watch their children without having to get in.
ideal for stratford upon avon
food prices a little expensive
Value for money Fabulous buffet breakfasts Comfortable rooms Quiet (fantastic for such a large hotel) Very pleasant staff Well signposted from road
No biscuits in the room! Dated furnishings in bedroom
room was not in a good spot, no outlook and quite dark.
Staff and facilities
Ideal location for visiting the Cotswolds and Stratford upon Avon. The room was spacious and clean. The pool was very welcome on a very hot weekend. We had a lovely short break.
As there was a wedding on the Friday and Saturday it was too noisy to sleep, lots of banging doors and talking. Pillows were lumpy. Tea and coffee not always replenished.
Spacious grounds Open plan hotel, wide corridoors Good swimming pool Breakfast very good Closeness to Stratford upon Avon
Used for weddings can can be a bit rowdy.
Location. The old part of the building. The friendly interaction of the staff among themselves. This gives a good atmosphere. Great staff, nothing too much trouble.
The fire doors being permanently open. The layout. Had the feeling I was in a corridor.
The grounds and the room was very nice.
The guy at the front deck at night, his English was not very good. Plus the directions to my room was very poor so I had to find another member of staff to show me were to go.. This is not a great start because I was late at night.. We had a long drive. But the rest of the stay was ok.
Bedrooms need Air Con or be able to open window more than one inch also Bar prices need to be looked at.......
Excellent organisational skills from regular staff in getting rooms reorganised in between sessions.
Male receptionist could benefit from a customer care course. Temporary restaurant staff could also benefit from the same course but targeted at observational skills so that they don't look quite so vacant.
Hotel has large grounds, tennis court, small gym and a reasonable size pool. Bedroom was a good size and 'business comfortable'.
Internet only free for one hour per day. Going for a swim took several trips to reception. The leisure area is unmanned and requires a security code, had to go to reception for the code, then again as it didn't work, again to get £1 coin for locker, again to get a towel. The receptionist was pleasant but could have explained everything in one visit. Very frustrating, and I wasn't the only one to experience this.

Wifi Connection cumbersome this needs to be available, unlimited and free.
friendly staff. lovely room. Good food especially the breakfast. Really enjoying and relaxing settling.
No major complaints. However, a gym would be nice..
