Fabulous hotel with excellent staff and amenities. Our visit was to see 'Hill House' - the hotel was used as the outside location for the film The Haunting in 1963. It did not disappoint in any way. It is a little on the costly side but good things cost money, so I would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a special treat like an anniversary etc. The nearby gastro pub in Alderminster, The Bell, is well worth a visit and an evening meal.

The staff where all lovely, and we loved the building. We had a good relax in the pool and steam room. I also enjoyed looking through the large collection of old Punch magazines in the old library.

My wife and I stayed as guests at a wedding being held at the hotel. The ambience and setting were first class, as, indeed, were the wedding arrangements. Staff were friendly and most attentive and the food very good and the surrounding environment delightful. I have marked the "value for money" section at 2. above, as "poor", because I consider the room service and bar prices are pitched at an unreasonably high level, even compared with major capital city centre charges, when overhead expenses are significantly higher than in rural Warwickshire. This element means that although, overall, our stay and experience were most enjoyable, it will only be a one-off. My recommendation would clearly contain a caveat about the high ancellary charges.

The Staff were very welcoming and could not do enough to help. The pool was lovley and warm. I think a new lift would improve the imagine of the hotel. The meals were very good but rather pricey along with the wine.

The location and exterior character of the building were as expected. The food and staff were excellent. We expected the interior of the hotel to be more in charater ie Gothic style. On arrival at our bedroom at 6pm we were confronted by two or three breakfast trays in the corridor not a good start, The room was clean and tidy but lacked charater and or view, both were very disappointing. . A small point but one of the lighting sockets was broken ie snapped in half. Overall our stay was enjoyable but did not meet our expectations the restaurant staff were excellent.

The room we had was fantastic, very spacious and clean. Food was excellant and the setting was breadth taking. A truely beautiful hotel and I would definitely stay there again. we were attending a friends wedding, unfortunately we couldnt check into our room until 3pm. The only critisism was lack of bar staff when guests started to arrive, also the bar prices are quite pricey.

This was short break for us, one night. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the facility. Dissappointed we did not see any ghosts but had great food and very comfortable room and surroundings. Will go again and recommend highly to friends.

We stayed at your hotel for the last night of our honeymoon, we really enjoyed the location and all facilities. The room was very nice and all staff we talked to friendly. The chef was very accomodating at breakfast and provided scrambled eggs without cream or milk as I can't eat those.

Beautiful architecture, friendly staff, equisite food, good pool and spa facilities, comfortable room with good quality fixtures, amazing breakfast, draughts! Hard to get taxis from local pubs back to Ettington, except at extortionate rates.

The location was excellent, set well off the road in quiet & peaceful countryside. We enjoyed some pleasant walks in the grounds. The church ruins just begged to be explored, quite amazing - church ruins in hotel grounds. Our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and spacious. I must mention the Staff, so well presented, polite & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. AND, impeccable attention to detail - they obviously enjoyed their work! We just liked everything about the place! THANK YOU. Not necessarily a complaint but....road-side signage is very poor. I drove past the entrance twice, the first when we were trying to find the location for the first time, and the second, when returning to the hotel in the dark. Sat Nav doesn't help.

Fantastic setting and building. Lovely "executive" room The hotel was a huge disappointment. The majority of the reviews are positive and we were very much looking forward to our stay. We arrived expecting to be treated as guests but left 2 days later feeling we had been an inconvenience. I would echo many of the negative comments made in previous reviews, The main issue for me was that we experienced all of these problems in the very short time we were there; confusion over what board basis we were on, long delays when ordering and receiving food, the wrong wine served, cleanliness, to name but a few. I am at a loss to know what the problem was as clearly most people's experience of the hotel is very positive. Perhaps staff attention was diverted by the wedding and other functions taking place over the 2 days? Ettington Park can clearly be a fantastic place but for us it was a bit of a nightmare. Some of the staff were very helpful and accommodating, others less so and the overall service we received was poor. The food was variable; fantastic puddings and breakfasts but confused/mediocre starters and main courses. How can any establishment serve filo pastry as Cannelloni and fail to mention this in the menu description. If I order Cannelloni I expect pasta! The only consolation is that we got a very good deal through Booking.com but even taking this into account we do not feel we received value for money and we were glad to leave.

Use of Wi Fi once I could get it to work in the public area. I didn't like the fact that I could not use my iPad in my room due to no WiFi in room 35.

1. There was real effort by all the hotel staff to use our names rather than just 'sir' and 'madam' which we appreciated. 2. The head waiter made sure that he understood my wife's dietary requirements clearly and ensured that she was content with what the chef provided. 3. I could have a real conversation with the head water regarding wine choices. 1. The waiters and waitresses could step a little more quietly in the dining room, one waiter particularly almost made the floor bounce.

Hotel style and setting / Proximity to attractions in warwickshire / Standard of personalised service / Superior breakfast menu / pool and spa Minor complaint of a hair in a dish which turned my wife off one breakfast and the next day at breakfast we had a large dead fly in our flower vase - unfortunate mishaps - the service and presentation were excellent.

the feel of the place. Genrally the way I was treated throughout. Check in was at 3, but room not availble until 3.40. Not having the option to dine in the main dining and not being recommended anywhere else locally to eat.Although the staff were all very pleasant, with such a large chunk of them coming from other European countries their English was not easy to understand at times.

Although we only had a standard room, it was very comfortable and we were very lucky in so much as the room was in the old part of the building overlooking the beautiful park. All mod cons you can require, nice gesture with fresh fruit and some nice chocolates to enjoy with your tea in the room. Looked to have a very nice pool and spa but sadly didn't have enough time to enjoy that one ! Definitely to be recommended. Maybe here and there there are little things such as frayed carpets and wall's that could do with a lick of paint, but overall still a wonderful place with lots of history to be had.
