The setting of Ettington and it's facade are marvellous. The room was well proportioned and the bed large and comfortable.
Sadly the room window had been left slightly open which even though the heating was on, the room was still subject to chilly draughts in the night. The breakfast portions were small and somewhat cold.
Food and service
Building full of character
Room price was very reasonable, went to London next day where drinks and food were better and a lot more reasonably priced
Staff give polite and efficient service.
Access for elderly or disabled, was not good - too many narrow stairs to negotiate to get to first floor bedroom and to the swimming pool.
Lovely place for adults.
Not really suitable for small children. Not enough bedding supplied for the sofa-bed, i.e, pillows, duvet, in the family room.
The food was excellent

We chose this hotel for a short break during half term as we wanted to stay at a hotel with accessible leisure facilities. Our 17 year old daughter has profound developmental delay and uses a wheelchair. Taking her away can be a little stressful, (to put it mildly!) as she can be quite noisy at times, but she loves going in a swimming pool. The staff were very attentive and perceptive to both ours and her needs. We were upgraded to a suite which was wonderful, as it gave us additional space to accommodate our daughter. We would particularly like to thank Damien for his entertaining and knowledgable chats about Ettington Park and it's history, Polly and Rachel on reception, the guys who put the ramp down for the wheelchair whenever it was needed and the head waiter at breakfast (sorry we didn't get his name). There were one or two negative reviews about access but it has to be remembered that this is an historic building and there is a ramp available (a little rickety!), but it was never an issue for the staff. We would certainly stay there again.
Could do with perhaps rethinking the ramp access. Sometimes the bar staff were not as attentive as they perhaps could have been.
We loved the mansion. The rooms were spacious, bright and very comfortable. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. Overall, we felt like we stepped into a story that was happening in the 18th century.
That we had to leave.
Lovely rooms, spacious and great interior building. Lovely breakfast and a super service. Lovely swimming pool facilities and clean which is important
In the Main drawing room there was a piano, but not allot of atmosphere, would have liked to see someone play the piano to create better feel, just no life in there for the evening entertainment. I would liked to see a small gym facility, even a few bikes, cross trainer. I think there is space for it.
Very pleased will definitely visit again during summer.
Location quiet & staff very helpful
Room about 5 mins away from main hotel if you in wheelchair room not designed for disabled persons, too small & cramped. Menu in restaurant poor value not much choice found it too expensive for what was presented on plate. Drinks cost about 3 times as much paid £20 for 2 drinks. ~Would not stay there again
No-one to carry the luggage up and around myriad corridors and stairs. Couldnt operate the dimmer by the bed.
couldn't fault it
Beautiful building in fantastic setting, well appointed room. Very opulent place for a special couples weekend away.
Travelling as a family with two older children who had to share a sofa bed which was very saggy in the middle, wasn't very comfortable for them.
An unusual building in beautiful parkland. Very helpful and courteous staff. Excellent food and a very comfortable bed.
Location and quality both excellent
Uncrowded clean spa Excellent food and kingmakers chamber bedroom Beautiful parkland setting
We only stayed one night Two nights would have been perfect Choice of draught beer/ lager could have been better
The staff at this hotel are really friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble, we arrived very late due to traffic and the kitchen was closed but they offered to cook us something anyway.
Restaurant is very pricey if traveling with children so are in a nearby pub.
This hotel is in a beautiful setting of 43 acres. Deer roam freely about the grounds. Staff are wonderful and courteous, nothing too much trouble ..can't wait to return to this little bit of heaven..
Loved everything about this place..
Grounds, courtesy, service, terrace
Not enough lounge area if weather poor
I loved the grounds and the hotel itself is simply stunning to look at. The staff were super friendly especially since we had two young children! Lots of nice pubs and places to eat within 10-15 mins from the hotel should you wish to venture out.
Location, atmosphere , building itself , breakfast, sitting area, pool on the morning was a beautiful start of a day and Jacuzzi in the evening was a good type of relaxation
Knowledgeable, friendly staff Grounds Family room with 2 floors Pool Location
We stayed at Ettington Park Hotel for one night and was very impressed. Above all the staff were great. As there is a lot of history behind Ettington Park we asked the lady at concierge a few questions. She kindly gave up her time to take us on a tour of the old church and told us a few stories about the Hotel. I was later informed her name was Colleen. Such a pleasant lady and so very professional. Top marks for her time and dedication. The swimming pool is at the perfect temperature and very clean. It also has a very powerful Jacuzzi. The steam and sauna rooms are excellent too. The grounds are well kept and great for photographers. Our room was a generous size with great facilities.
Leaving the Hotel. I didn't want to leave this beautiful place.
