Knowledgeable, friendly staff Grounds Family room with 2 floors Pool Location
We stayed at Ettington Park Hotel for one night and was very impressed. Above all the staff were great. As there is a lot of history behind Ettington Park we asked the lady at concierge a few questions. She kindly gave up her time to take us on a tour of the old church and told us a few stories about the Hotel. I was later informed her name was Colleen. Such a pleasant lady and so very professional. Top marks for her time and dedication. The swimming pool is at the perfect temperature and very clean. It also has a very powerful Jacuzzi. The steam and sauna rooms are excellent too. The grounds are well kept and great for photographers. Our room was a generous size with great facilities.
Leaving the Hotel. I didn't want to leave this beautiful place.
Lovely clean pool and fantastic breakfasts with lots of variety. Beautiful building and grounds.
Sofa beds uncomfortable - could feel the springs and kept rolling to the middle. Bar food very disappointing.
loved the fabulous gothic architecture, the pool and spa facilities and enjoyed walking in the grounds, also staff very attentive and helpful.
rooms had poor quality natural light would have liked more central lighting.
Wonderfully quiet location
Some difficulty finding our room
Everything. A beautiful location with a very impressive hotel. Staff were friendly and facilities were excellent.
The children complained the sofa bed was uncomfortable to sleep in.
lovely quiet hotel, fascinating architecture. Bed very comfortable and ideal for many tourist attractions
The food! Much too fancy. Perhaps a basic option for those of us who like to taste the food not the many sauces and who like basic English cuisine, even if only available in a separate eating area. We ended up eating out when we prefer not to. Breakfast was lovely though.
Beautiful garden setting as well as everything inside being top class
All of it
Nothing at all
hotel, food , hospitality, location and grounds
beds, pillows - way too soft
grounds were stunning and patio area was a delight. Place was great but could have been even better. Swimming pool was very pleasant and food was excellent. Room was very comfortable liked air con.
staff could do with a bit more training relevant to their function, (wine served by waitress who could not open a bottle) and perhaps a little more effort towards personal hygiene.(B.O.) finding entrance to pool was a challenge. Food was a tad overpriced, as were drinks.
Friendly staff, in its own grounds, excellent room, pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi
What did I like? The history, the comfort, the service, the value....we traveled through south and southwest England and into the Midlands and it was the delight of our trip.
My only disappointment was that we did not book a second night.
Location and staff
No gym and the breakfest.
There was history and detail everywhere. The ceilings, the walls, windows, fireplaces, floors, staircases were all genuine. The ruins on the property were so picturesque. The restaurant had great meals. It was 5 star quality on steroids.
No shuttle service to Stratford upon Avon.
The staff could not have been more helpful while the location is simply stunning. We stayed for three days and the experience was an excellent one. I travel extensively on business worldwide so i am a little jaded on hotels but this renewed my faith in that rarity...a well run hotel.
at night some of the other guests were a little noisy on their way to their rooms but that is universal in this selfish world.
The setting; we had a problem with our first room which was resolved without any argument. The food.
Nothing comes to mind

Nothing to dislike
The Hotel management contacted me after I had made the booking to see if there was anything else they could provide, were very professional in their approach and attitude. This made me feel very welcome. Every member of the hotel staff we encountered were excellent. The food was worthy of a hotel of this stature. And the building and the grounds are truly amazing ! I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will definitely try and make a return booking.
Minor point - breakfast was slow, but I am guessing that most guests do not have morning meetings to attend !
Beautiful building in a lovely peaceful setting. Staff efficient.
Room 14 - Paper thin walls - could clearly hear normal conversation and noise from room next door (and they were not being noisy)! Therefore not relaxing as you knew they could hear us. Squeaky headboard.
Staff could not do enough to help. Was an excellent stay in a very pleasant location
Plumbing a bit dated - taps ran at a trickle as did the shower. Shower trap needed a good clean too. Also get some more credit card machines !!
Friendly staff, good location, nice building
Cleanliness. Place looked quite shabby. Bathroom had hairs and old contact lenses on floor. We mentioned it to reception and it was all clean when we returned later.
Room 50 is excellent for a family with two young children. The room was large enough to accommodate us easily on the same floor. it was delightfully quiet and had a lovely view of the old church.
Room 41, although described as a family room, we found it somewhat claustrophobic and connected by steep narrow stairs making it in my view unsuitable for a young family. A cover I needed for the foot level light fitting on the second floor landing which may otherwise result in a child being burnt.
All of the staff were extremely helpful even telling us where to look for ghosts. We were allowed to go anywhere on the property. The hotel is in a gorgeous setting and location is excellent. Very easy access to Stratford, Oxford and the Cotswolds. Our rooms had everything that we needed, especially air conditioning! Wish we could of stayed longer.
Nothing - everyone in our group of seven had a great time!
