It is within a walking distance from the train station.
Quite noisy from the downstairs bar.
Filthy bathroom and dodgy lights in the bathroom
location near to the city, to the bus station
the bed was really old - too "soft"; shower in bathroom also a little bit to old ....
Good location Good size room
Bar and proximity to street makes the rooms a little noisy
The location The breakfast The staff The bed
It was far too noisy! There's a nightclub downstairs, so if you are happy to go to sleep at 2 on a weekend night then it's fine, otherwise go somewhere else.
staffs were really nice, they understand that we do not like the noise there and recommend close hotels.
be aware of the night bar on the ground floor and the coach station next to it. If you want a quilt place, it is definitely not a good choice.
Position at the hotel, room size and good music in the pub.
Loud music in the pub.
Good location in the city centre.
Bed was terribly uncomfortable, could feel every spring and seemed to be on a slope. Breakfast was served by a very confused and stressed teenage girl with poor English. I had a cooked breakfast with no drinks offered and my friend had the continental breakfast, which consisted of a single small croissant. He asked for some toast and the girl seemed baffled by this request and never came back.
Clean and basic accommodation in the heart of Oxford.
Awesome location. We stayed in a room with 3 beds (3 total travelling), which is next to impossible to find, so that was very nice. Free breakfast actually wasn't too bad. Tip: get the English breakfast, not the croissant breakfast. Croissant breakfast literally just a single tiny croissant. Dumb.
Poor WiFi reception in our room. Overall, the place is pretty dirty. Maid walked in on us several times without knocking. Smelly hallways. Loud at night. Overall, fairly janky.
The only moment my mum and I enjoyed is when we left. La seule chose que nous avons apprécier est quand nous avons rendu notre clef de chambre et sommes partis.
When we arrive, we were "welcomed" by a rude your woman who seemed bothered by our arrival. When we arrive in the corridor leading to our room, we could smell a very weird and strong smell (mix of B.O, mud, feet odour). The guy whom showed us the way to go our room gave us the key, and didn't open the door. He just let us in front of door and left, and I assume it's because he knew that his room was disgusting and smelly. We could already smell the strong smell of the room before opening the door. When opened the door, we almost passed out as the smell was so strong and punchy. We could not believe how disgusting was the room: the bed sheets seemed not clean, the window seemed broken, the mattress seemed too old to be used, the bathroom was not clean (we could see loads of hair all over the floor, there were a strange smell as well, the shower didn't seem clean enough to use it, the light wasn't working, etc...). We didn't "take the risk to stay there, we were too scared to be sick on the day after and that the smell of the room would stick to our stuffs and our hair. So we decided not to take the room and leave, and that was the best moment of the day to be honest. When we came back to what they call the reception and said that we were not satisfied at all, the manager seemed surprised and told us that he could not give us the money back but he was happy to offer us something to drink. The only thing I can say is DO NOT GO THERE. They say they are a bar and a hotel but actually, they don't know how a hotel works, so they shouldn't keep going with this activity. Quand nous sommes arrivées ma mère et moi, nous avons été "accueillies" par une jeune femme aimable comme une porte de prison qui semblait tout à fait désintéressée par notre arriver dans l'hôtel. Nous avons été par la suite prises en main le "manager" de l'hôtel qui nous a conduit à notre chambre.
Breakfast was good
Smells very bad everywhere, TV not working, hugely overpriced, noisy (bus hub station next to the hotel), staff is very unfriendly.
Close locality to car rental firms and railway station.
Noise from street kept me awake.
The hotel is located on top of a bar so the noise was really loud and made the quality of sleeping terrible.
spacious, clear room, friendly stuff, perfect location, lots of the places to eat
a liitle bit noisy, some problems with water in the bathroom
Room was spacious (nr 5), location is right in the center.
Friday night we came out of another bar (100 yards away) and we could here the music from a dj out of the euro bar. It went on till 01.15. We made a walk to get out of the noise. Continental breakfast contisted only cereals, toast (4 half slices) and jam. Was a bit poor.
location in the center of town
Many noise until 24h00 due to the bar. No parking or car park in the hotel. Very difficult to find a parking near the hotel, and really very expensive ! Finally I go to a public transport parking far away from the hotel, and take the bus to return in town.
Location is ok
It is quite noisy at night as there is a pub downstairs. Bad staff and costly price
The hotel is in a good location. It is right next to the bus stop and the WIFI connection was good. That's all.
I left the hotel feeling that the service we received didn't match the price of the room. When we got to our room, there was milk spilt over the tea service and there was no tea. The water pressure was so weak that my girlfriend felt that she couldn't wash her hair, especially as the shower head was held on with a piece of string/cord. The hotel boasted a cooked breakfast menu and we were told that it was included in the price of our room. However, when we went down for breakfast we were told the cook was sick and we were only given a very small continental breakfast. After paying £75 for the room, I left wondering where the value for money was. I would have asked for a partial refund but I wasn't convinced the staff could deal with that request regardless of how friendly and helpful they were, and the manager wasn't there most of the time.
Overall poor, other peoples clothes left in bathroom, room stank of cigarettes, disco in bar exceptionally loud and didn't finish till early hours of the morning. Staff member hung up on me prior to my arrival as I was asking for directions, very disappointing!
This place has had bad reviews due to noise etc however as we were on the top floor the noise hwasn,t too bad. It was reasonable value accommodation for Oxford at this very busy time of year. It is close to the bus and train stations and restaurants. Breakfast and staff were very good.
The location is convenient to many wonders of Oxford.
This is a low rent dive bar that has a couple of carport rooms for rent above. From the online description, we expected more of an adult hostel feel, rather than an hourly rental feel. The staff was dishonest, the bed was cheap and torn out, and the bar was filled up with alcoholics straight out of a Bukowski short story. This place truly sucks. Immediately after we checked in, I went back downstairs into the horrible bar, and asked to shorten our stay to one night. The manager said that he would issue me a credit on my card, but never did. This place is a total tip off.
The staff were helpful and friendly. There was obviously an effort to keep the rooms and linen as clean and practical as possible. The location is superb.
The hotel decor is so tired and out of date as to be rather a joke. Whilst there was a great effort to keep it clean and functioning it felt run - down and seedy in the extreme, not helped by the very tawdry access behind the bar to a scary stairwell with little signage. It needs a complete refurbishment. The window curtain was half off its rail. The windows only worked with great difficulty. There was no bedside lightbulb ( supplied by the staff when I asked however) and I had to fight the shower door to get out of it. The breakfast was nasty - cold coffee, cheap orange juice and stale croissant.
Too noisy..:'( Because of ground floor's bar.
