great location ,friendly staff-ideal for weekend visit
Breakfast could have been bigger !
Excellent location and fantastic breakfast. Nice and spacious room. The staff was really nice and helpful.
Wifi in room did not work properely, it worked only close to the door but most of the time only outside the room. Shower's hot water pressure was extremely weak.
Location is great, within walking distance from the train station and very easy to find. There is a bar downstairs so you don't have to go far for drinks The young lady who checked us in was very nice.
Did I mention there's a bar downstairs? I'm normally a very deep sleeper and don't wake up for anything but this place was truly the exception. We were in the room directly above the bar and if you plan on staying at this hotel on the weekend then don't plan on getting any sleep. It's so loud from booming music and drunk people yelling that it's impossible to even try and sleep. It would have been better if we could have watched t.v but even that was just awful! I asked for some sort of compensation for not being able to sleep and was told that since they advertised that they have a DJ I would not receive any discount. Ask for the top floor if you do stay. I will never return since there are other options without a weekend DJ close by.
location was brilliant.plenty of good restaurants close by.
noisy all through the night. Breakfast choice was very limited and when food arrived it was cold and unappetising.
Very central to Oxford. Great Breakfast and wonderful staff. Very good restaurants very close by and the bus terminal is right next door and hardly noticeable. Very close to most of sights.
Breakfast was OK
POOR quality BED. DIRTY ROOM in places. Thread bear CARPETS. DIRTY CURTAINS.. CRACK and CHIPPED WASH BASIN. RAILS on STAIRS NOT ATTACHED to wall in places. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY.
Staff unfriendly, unattentive, unhelpful. Room dusty, dirty. Stains around and under sink, hairs in sink. Carpet could have done with a GOOD clean! Sheets on bed clean. Bed not overly comfortable. Shared shower/toilet not the cleanest.
Friendly staffs and great location
Proximity of coach station, several restaurants and excellent "Brasserie " nearby, shopping pedestrian alleys not far.
Bathroom, carpet etc.. needs renovation; music from the bar at ground level.
Noisy buses all night Initial access through the bar is very unwelcoming
Location, staff, ,room was good size for money paid. Value for money , would stay again.
All the stairs. Cooked breakfast was nice but bit cold by the time dished out to us. Had to keep windows closed due to outside bus and people noise levels which made room very hot and stuffy.
breakfast was OK
A band playing so loud that it set off the smoke alarm several times. There shouldn't be rooms above the bar. Toilet was in poor repair and needed attention during our stay. The TV also stopped working and we were given rabbit ears as a repair. Finally, the lack of a lift was a struggle for two septuagenerians. I thought that the description mentioned a lift.
Location was excellent, bed comfortable, my room 11 was away from bus so quiet, sink in room and a kettle to make tea and multiple power points and good wifi.
Shared bathroom was only cleaned daily and I was sharing with three rooms. I did not like it. No lift so be prepared to carry bag up narrow stairs - ok as one time up and one time down. Breakfast from 8am so too late for me as I was at university. Bit of a side business to the main pub downstairs. It was fine for the week. The bathroom quality will depend on who you have to share with and it did not work for me that week. I did stay for breakfast one morning but 20 mins to turn 1 piece of bread into toast.... Was not for me either. Bedroom had powerboards connected to powerboards across the room.
Owner sorted out my problem with wifi immediately.
There was one staff member who was particularly unhelpful and had no customer service skills. This is in contrast to another who was lovely at breakfast. Shower head was broken in the ensuite bathroom. BED sagged in the middle and was SOOOOOOOOOO uncomfortable. Rooms old and musty but cleaned everyday.
Great central location, and quite satisfactory for the price. The rooms are tired and in need of renovation, but quite comfortable. Order a room with ensuite!
Great to have accommodation so close to the bus station.
The room was very large, but for the price I would have expected not to have shared shower facilities. The actual bar seemed pretty seedy in the evenings.
Friendlyness and. Helpfulness of staff to. Meet our needs and location excellent for travel via bus back and forth from. Heathrow...great breakfast as well....we came for our Son's graduation. And being avery short visit it worked out well. Management very co-operative and flexible with our request to change timing and length of stay at last minute. ...and to supply ironing board and iron as well when needed...Charlotte..?? Young. Lady at desk/bar very sweet and wonderful service attitude..!!!!!
Location of room#4 was difficlt to reach on stairs for older folk with bad knees but. Once their quite comfortable....i slept. Well but my wife had real difficulty as she found it quite distressing late Friday nite. As a huge disturbance broke out in bar below our room and spilling out onto street below our open window with alot of screaming and police being called. Bathroom clean but lacking in electrical outlets for my wifes curling iron...also shower a bit awkward to use and very small Overall a good value for the price
Very good location. Close to bus station and City centre but this is the only advantage I'd say.
Make sure you check this is a bar. But more like a club. Very loud music at night. The owner said booking.com clearly says in activities section that there's DJ etc. I lived in Oxford for 2 years and I only chose this place because it was the only option for me - other places at reasonable prices were fully booked. It was a Friday night and you can literally feel vibration from DJ at the bar.
Poor quality furniture - most of it falling apart or broken, shared bathroom was barely acceptable, heaters in room had melted parts - not used because likely to be a safety risk
Just steps from the Oxford/Heathrow bus. Conveniently located to city. Shared bath - never saw or heard another person (even though the Hotel was full) and it was freshers week. Staff were kind and lugged my heavy 23k bag up and down the many stairs, with kindness. Breakfast was more than I expected, even though I opted for a cappucino and toast.
Window right over bus traffic, but it was to be expected and I really heard nothing when I went to sleep, so it was a bit noisy, but as I said, expected.
The rooms left a lot to be desired, we realise this is under new management , but the rooms need a lot of maintenance done to them.
It is within a walking distance from the train station.
Quite noisy from the downstairs bar.
Filthy bathroom and dodgy lights in the bathroom
Location in the city center.
Bar directly below room pounded out the music at full volume until 1am - even with ear plugs you could feel the beat.
location near to the city, to the bus station
the bed was really old - too "soft"; shower in bathroom also a little bit to old ....
