Eurobar Cafe & Hotel - B&B48 George Street, OX1 2AQ Oxford (Show map) Pleasant, Score from 384 reviews“I liked the unpretentiousness and friendliness and liveliness of it and how very very handy to everything it is - to the central area of Oxford - being in George St. Itself where there are many super restaurants - we ate at a super authentic french restaurant a few meters up the street.”

The location of this "hotel" was the only redeeming feature we found on our stay there. The smell in the bar and unfriendliness of the staff on our arrival, having to go through the bar to get to our rooms with our bags on the first night of our stay, dirty carpets and pungent smell in the corridors up to the bedrooms, the windows in the bedroom being left open making it near impossible to get a nights sleep with the street noise coming up (we tried to close the outside window but couldn't get access to it), food was okay but was difficult to eat in the dirty surroundings of the pub lounge (smell of stale beer was the main problem).

I am trying to find out something I liked and cant find anything except the location. Good location in center but rest else is bordering along the worst place I have ever stayed. Definitely not value for money. the rooms were dirty and smelt most of the time, the floor were sticky and the stair leading to my room were stinky. The Bar/Cafe area was so bad that I had to skip breakfast purely to avoid the sight of it. The staff was extremely unprofessional, no thank yous or smile.. and once when i said thank you to the girl at the bar in morning, she looked at me as if I asked her to sign her million dollars to my name. If you want to ruin your holiday then please go ahead and book this place. Continuing from above, the showers were very slow, the bathrom floor was sticky, the rooms were small. The staff is unprofessional and rude most of the times. The decor is old and not maintained properly. The building needs some serious cleaning and redecoration.

We were satisfied with servis and kind staff. Location is excellent. We are from The Czech Rep. And our daghter is studying in Oxford, so Eurobar Cafe was great choice for us, because we could have meeting whit our daughter in the center of Oxford,go shopping or to restaurants. Big advantage is bus station next to hotel (bus to the airport).

It is central to the city and reasonably priced. I was not shown to my room for which I had to go outside into the street after booking in at the bar/reception and in through another external locked door and up stairs and a bit of a rabbit warren to find my room. The bedroom window was tucked in the corner behind the wardrobe and the view was over the courtyard that was enclosed by tall buidlings and had mechanical plant making a continuous background noise, but not too loud that you couldn't quickly get used to it. The TV only offered the basic 5 terestrial channels and not the best quality pictures either. Arriving at breakfast the waitress could have been a bit more helpful and welcoming in explaining what was on offer and how the system worked. I was not offered any extra toast after a cooked breakfast, although there was jam and marmalade on every table. By then the waitress was nowhere to be seen to ask. The hotel is basic but worth it for a couple of nights because of the great location. Not a main hoiday venue though.

Its convenience. Right beside the bus station, got the bus from Heathrow to Oxford and then used the local bus routes to get about, an excellant location for someone relying on public transport. There is so much potential in this location, the staff were fine, the bed clothes were clean and the breakfast was sufficent. But the general appearance of the establishment is grubby the carpets were filthy and there was a stale smell throughout the building.

It is right beside the bus terminal and a five minute walk from the shopping street and the city centre. The staff members were not friendly and never smiled. On the first day we arrived, the milk in the small containers in the room was rotten and full of mold, but the rest of our stay, it was fine.

Room was freezing cold the heaters did not work and the manager had to bring in a portable electric heater which stayed on most of the night. The bathroom facilities are extremely worn and although clean they do gave the appearance of being dirty. Breakfast was poor - croissant was heated in the microwave and was both soggy and chewy, the orange juice tasted of chemicals, the bacon had been fried in a dirty pan and was cobered in black oil

It was cheap and about a ten minute walk to my daughter's college. The staff was very friendly and the English breakfast was abundant. My room was spartan but clean and next to the bathroom (there was a sink in the room itself). The staff was generous with clean towels, too. The location is next to the bus station and above a pub but it was still quiet. It is a short walk to the train station and just around the corner from a cab stand. It is also close to all the main Oxford shopping areas (including a flea market and a farmer's market) yet only a short walk to quiet parks, neighborhoods, museums, libraries, and the Inspector Morse colleges. If you really like to hoof it, you can walk out to Binsey and other, more rural, environs. This is not a hotel for people who can't deal with stairs. Also, telephone before you arrive so someone will be sure to be there to let you in.

Very well located. Closed to main street and station. Nice and big room. You have coffe and tea in the room. Very clean. They have a Bar downstairs but we didn´t stay there, too many people drinking. Didnt bother at all in the room. Breakfast s fine. Cereal and toast, coffe and muffin

It was very central and the location was exactly what we had wanted The front door of the Hotel was damaged, the hotel rooms were very cold and only had a plug in electric fire, which when on became very hot and dangerous. The breakfast was a continental style and was a basket left in the room the night before of an apple pie, yogurt and fruit with a fruit flavoured drink. The Hotel Bar and Resturant was closed on the day we stayed,

Relaxed atmosphere and in a fantastic location. The room and ensuite bathroom were spacious, comfortable and clean. Being so close to the city centre and the coach station meant that it could get a little bit noisy at times, but it wasn't nearly as bad as we expected for a hotel right in the centre and didn't really disturb us at night.
