Breakfast was good
Smells very bad everywhere, TV not working, hugely overpriced, noisy (bus hub station next to the hotel), staff is very unfriendly.
Close locality to car rental firms and railway station.
Noise from street kept me awake.
location in the center of town
Many noise until 24h00 due to the bar. No parking or car park in the hotel. Very difficult to find a parking near the hotel, and really very expensive ! Finally I go to a public transport parking far away from the hotel, and take the bus to return in town.
Location is ok
It is quite noisy at night as there is a pub downstairs. Bad staff and costly price
The staff were helpful and friendly. There was obviously an effort to keep the rooms and linen as clean and practical as possible. The location is superb.
The hotel decor is so tired and out of date as to be rather a joke. Whilst there was a great effort to keep it clean and functioning it felt run - down and seedy in the extreme, not helped by the very tawdry access behind the bar to a scary stairwell with little signage. It needs a complete refurbishment. The window curtain was half off its rail. The windows only worked with great difficulty. There was no bedside lightbulb ( supplied by the staff when I asked however) and I had to fight the shower door to get out of it. The breakfast was nasty - cold coffee, cheap orange juice and stale croissant.
Location was great. Breakfast was good.
Our room was above the bar. This is not a Cafe but a bar. There is heavy disco music at the weekend (don't know about during the week). The info in the room said it stopped at 12 midnight but in fact it goes on until 1am. Reasonably priced parking is far away.
Old run down, untidy
Easy to find, comfortable and peaceful.
Location Super Breakfast Excellent value for money
No lift staircase had an odd smell
Location is great, in the middle of the city, class to everything. Breakfast was great too.
Location Room was nice and clean
There is a pub below the rooms and you can hear the loud music They didn't have everything that was on the list for breakfast
The toilet and bathroom is big and comfortable.
Breakfast starts late at 8am and juice was watery - only one orange jug for many people. I was charged more than the prices displayed at the hotel.
this is an option if you are super drunk at the bar downstairs and just need a place to sleep.
though it is located in the city center, it is not a good location as it is right next to the bus stop, which brings a lot of noise. there was no air conditioning and so we had to open the window and get ourselves exposed to all kinds of noise from the bar and the traffic. the bathroom was quite dirty and there was a lot of dust on the window frames. most staff were actually very friendly but one in particular was very rude when we checked out and spoiled the whole impression. definitely not an option for family nor backpackers.
Good location, close to the train station and city centre.
This is really a hostel but an expensive one, £70 per night. The hotel staff, especially the girl in the morning is very badly educated. She seems know nothing about the hotel and very rude. The hotel is very basic, very noisy. The music was very loud until 02:00am and then all the busses outside started at 05:00. No peace at all. The room is not clean either.
Great breakfast but chaotic service if everyone turned up at once.
The weather was really hot and my room on the top floor was very stuffy. A fan would have been nice.
I stayed there on a Friday night. The music of the bar downstairs was just so loud that we could not sleep until 1:00 am (even with earplug). The floor of my room was vibrating with the music !! I am used to sleep in noisy hostels or hotels, but I have never spent a night in a so noisy hotel !!
Close to rail station
Uneasy about cleanliness. Had to walk through bar and Gents door for access to rooms.
-breakfast was good -staff were nice -location 5*
- Room above the bar on weekend is a nightmare. Party till 2 AM in the morning Music is so loud that my bed jumped up and down with every base beats. - Asked staff to change my room but no possible -think before you decide on the room of the first floor unless you are partying out till 1 am!!!!!!
Location: near the city, near the station. Good beds.
Shower was dirty: full of fungus. A lot of stairs. The hotel is in the middle of some bars, in fact one bar is underneath the hotel. On Friday and Saturday night there was a lot of noise till at least 1.00 a.m. The hotel is located next to the busstation, coaches arrive and leave all night under our window. It was very warm when we were in Oxford, no ventilation in the room. A fan would have been nice! Breakfast: cheap orange juice. The continental breakfast should comprise of toast and a croissant. The first two days there were no croissants. The third day we went elsewhere for breakfast.
Staff are nice and friendly.
The hotel is located on the pub and next to the bus station. So, it is not very suitable for family with childrens. When the truck or bus cross the road, the sound is pretty lound.
Wifi not working.
The hotel was located conveniently for the centre of Oxford, including the bus and rail stations.
A key disadvantge of its location was the high levels of noise, from the bus station, people in the street at night and - on one night - very loud music from the bar downstairs until past midnight. Having had to open the window in my room because of high temperatures and the lack of air conditioning, I slept poorly both nights that I was there. Unfortuantely all of the rooms faced the street, so changing rooms would have made little difference. Finally, for 65GBP per night, I would have expected better faciltites, such as ensuite facilities.
Room situation: high up, rooftop view, rather quiet. Courteous and helpful staff.
