These private, lockable single or twin rooms in shared self-catering apartments complete with bathrooms, a lounge and kitchen are located right in the heart of Edinburgh.

Each year Euro Hostel leases apartments from the university while the students take their summer holiday.. Kincaid's Court is situated about 5 to 10 minutes’ walk from Waverly Station. Located on the Cowgate, it is just 1 block from the Royal Mile and within easy walking distance of Edinburgh Castle, The Palace of Holyroodhouse, Grassmarket and much more.

Hotel information

All bedrooms are either twin or single rooms. Ample shared bathroom facilities are available in each apartment. There is also a communal lounge and kitchen. The kitchen is kitted out with a sink, oven, fridge, freezer and microwave. Crockery, cutlery, bed linen and towels are supplied.

Food & beverage

As all apartments are self catering, Euro Hostels Edinburgh Halls does not have an on-site restaurant or bar. However, our reception does sell a small range of snacks and drinks. There are many restaurants and bars in the area and our staff will be happy to recommend something to suit your palate and budget.

Room information

All bedrooms are private and lockable. As well as the facilities listed in the individual room descriptions, the bedrooms contain either 2 beds (twin rooms) or 1 single bed, as well as a chair, wardrobe and reading lamp. There are no double beds.

Area information

Located on Cowgate, we are one street away from the Royal Mile. Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Scottish parliament building, Mary Kings Close, Camera Obscurer, Museums and Art Galleries are all withing an easy walking distance of the hostel. And if it is shopping you are after, Princes Street is just a 10 minute walk away.

The Edinburgh Sightseeing Bus Tour has stops nearby and tickets can be purchased from reception.

A post office and late opening supermarkets are also nearby.

Please note that the hotel does not accept American Express or Diners Club cards.

It was central, so within walking distance of sights, shops, etc.

It was not a hotel. A hostel is different, more basic in facilities, as this one was. It was somewhere to stay for a short time.

close to city center; still vacancies for five people even though most of the other accommodations were fully booked

It was good that we were put in the building with a lift. A must for most of us over 50

One shower between all of the rooms was poor.We had to que for the shower in the morning which nearly made us late for the train. I think you should consider putting in more showers as most people like to shower every morning.

Location was handy for central Edinburgh

Make it clear that rooms are not en-suite as I thought we had a toilet and shower in the room and expected to go along the corridor for a bath, this was not the case and there wasn't even a bath to share just one shower between 5 rooms. Also the floors were ridiculously creaky. Our door handle was broken and there was no safe in the room either. Room was not as described at all.

The staff does thier best to make sure the stay is as good as possible and is very helpful.

The building is used for students during the year so it feels more like being back in college than staying in a hotel or a hostel.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean. Good value for money

The location was good because it was close to major sites but the street it is on was a little scary for a solo traveller.
