The hosts were warm, helpful, and professional. The room was immaculate! Not one hair to be found in the bathroom, and I really appreciated the strip of tape across the toilet that said, "sanitized for your protection." The essential toiletries were provided, and clean towels were laid on the end of the bed upon entry to the room. I would stay here again, just because cleanliness is such an important factor to me, for health and safety reasons; that anything else is just add on thrills. It was very well done! Also, the walk to town was short enough not to be a bother, and not so short that you felt as if you needed to exercise afterwards for sake of not being active enough on holiday. The only thing that struck me odd in such a perfect climate, was the traditional English breakfast was served using canned tomatoes. For a tiny bit more effort, fresh tomato would have made it perfect. Don't expect a flat screen TV, or good reception. I don't watch TV so this wasn't an issue. Also, the orange juice, and milk containers for common use didn't have lids on to protect the contents from any possible contaminents....such as a guest sneezing, coughing, ect....This was usually the case in almost all the B&Bs we stayed at, so it wasn't just this one. However, I think it is something that should be addressed for health and safety concerns. Just makes one more comfortable consuming the juice and milk, and it's easy to do. I am from California, and this is state law, so that's probably why it stuck out to me.

Booked large double room which had ample space, good heating and was well- equipped. Very comfy bed! Tea-tray regularly restocked. Shower dated and occasionally temperamental, but usually ok if you weren't too long taking a shower.

Warm, cosy room (not a given in England, we found). Good mattress on the bed and all the necessary comforts in the room, including electric water kettle and complimentary tea tray. The hosts made us feel very welcome and maintained the room discreetly. The breakfast was hearty and tasty - although the serving time was a bit early for us. Definetely going to come back here whenever we come to Whitby Goth Weekend again. Thank you, Ann and Michael! Typical English shower - had to wait for a good while before the water warmed up. The bathroom did not have its own radiator and humidity-reducing ventilating, as in Finland, and thus the room did not dry after shower as rapidly as we are accustomed to. We did not consider these to be faults in the room but rather indicators of cultural differences between Finland and England. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by these bathroom facilities.

Easily the best b&b I've stayed at in Whitby (and I've done a lot of them) very friendly atmosphere, good food with a vegetarian option, nice room, comfy bed. Pretty much everything you need really, would definitely go again. Would I reccomend it to others? Well, yes... But not too many people, I dodn't want it to be booked up next time I want to go :)

We were greeted by ann and michael when we arrived they made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and tidy and comfortable. When we went down to breakfast the dinning room was very well set out. You could choose from different cereals or fruit or both if you wanted. Tea or coffee, plenty of toast and the full english breakfast was excellent. Well cooked and well presented. My husband really enjoyed it and sent his compliments to the chef. We will definately return next time we go to whitby. Janet and Dennis Sheffield

The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. The Europa Guesthouse is not far from the sea front, so an early stroll along the sea front before breakfast was very refreshing, I would stray there again and would recommend it to family and friends.
