basic facilities, clean, save and organised. Eduroam signal present in my room.
No coffee/tea/ breakfast facilities. Toilets and showers rather basic. No hangers in the room, limited sockets.
room was clean very good location in London very polite and helpful staff
no dishes in the kitchen no lockers for rent to lock the cupboards in the kitchens
The ability to store luggage prior to check in was priceless as we were able to unload before returning hire car. Location (outside congestion zone) was ideal with multiple bus routes and frequent service. Returning late at night felt safe on the bus and the street. Rooms were clean and spacious and room facing onto Evelyn Gardens was lovely and cool. Our friends across the hall did not have such good airflow but were supplied with a fan. Having wash basins in the rooms was a bonus. Kitchen was adequate and nearby Tesco and Sainsbury (5 min walk) offered a good selection of ready meals which was ideal as we didn't feel like cooking after a full day exploring London. Lockable cupboards in the kitchen, and space allocated in the fridges for each bed were very useful. We didn't have a lock but didn't lose anything. It was great to meet other travellers in the kitchen/dining.
The seating in the kitchen/dining was limited. Seats joined to table made it difficult to get in and out. The showers need better exhaust fans as it was like trying to get dressed in a sauna but, as this was a side effect of the excellent heat and water pressure, it wasn't all bad!
The price and the location. It's possible to use a common kitchen with free tea and coffee. Bed was confortable, bedsheets and towels clean and new. Clean showers.
I could find many small faults, but one cannot expect it to be perfect for such a low price.
If you are travelling with the purpose to explore the city and do the most activities outside of your accommodation that this is very good option to stay. If you don't expect highly comfortable room but you prefer clean room on a good location, that evelyn is great option. The staff is very professional.
It is not very suitable for taller people (around 2 meters) because the toilet and shower room are smaller.
Very good little kitchens on each floor, with tea, coffee, milk, mugs, fridges, microwaves. Bear in mind that all this is probably going to get a deep clean before students return.
Shower, couldn't figure out how to get a hot one, so didn't try again! Didn't find laundry but didn't need it, only curious.
Very nice location, room was quite big, nothing to complain on cleanness neither.
no wifi, toilets and showers are fro share, but they were fairly clean as well
essential cutlery would be welcome
A really good price considering the location. Really, the only expectation is that the room is clean and quiet - and it was.
The surcharge for internet access was steep, and the only option was cabled access (no WiFi).
Price and Location
Sharing kitchen and bathroom
Everything is fine but there are not too much facilities like hair dryer and electric heater
Always keep the windows shut bcus there were bees
Clean room, a lot of space. Quiet halls during the night and not a lot of noise from the streets. Grocery store within a minute walking distance, bus stops nearby and a 5 minute walk to the nearest tube station. Plenty of stores and restaurants in the area, athough its a very expensive neighbourhood. Lots of museums nearby. Staff offers luggage deposits for the day of departure.
One of the mattresses almost fell apart, could feel the springs. No drinkable water in the hotel except for 1 sink in the kitchen Locked drawer and closet in the room with no key provided Shower area remained very unclean for the entire stay. Many instructions throughout the hotel aimed at students made some things confusing. Unable to open windows in the room.
The entire staff was helpful and very welcoming. The rooms are huge (twin bedroom) and everything you need is around the corner. So perfect point to start and finish sightseeing every day.
The toiletts and showers where not as clean as I like it but for a weekend trip it was okay.
reception staff was very friendly and helpful room was spacious and clean
The hostel is located on a busy road. The single glazed windows offered almost no reduction of traffic-noise at night time. Had to use earplugs
Great location, with good public transport and food services
Location, staff, facilities and cleanliness and to be able to store our luggage because we arrived too early to check in and we had to checkout a few hours before we departed London.
Got disturbed a couple of times during night, but that was because the weather was great so we had to have a window open. So! nothing to gripe about. It is great location to stay while you visit a great city.
I stayed 7 nighs in early August, and it was a pleasant stay. Only about 10 minutes' walk from Gloucester Road tube station, in a quiet neighbourhood.
Very nice tradeoff between location and price. Very nice if you can accustom yourself to hostel/dorm life, which should not be hard for students traveling.
Ambiguous informations regarding extra charge for internet connectivity. Fire doors closing in the hall are extremly noisy even inside the rooms and are active from very early in the morning.
As I said, great value for money. Super near the underground station, and only a few stops away from central London. The room was large and clean, and it was a nice, quiet location. Overall, it was definitely an enjoyable stay.
All fridges were locked, and our keys didn't fit in any, so we had to make do without some foods. Also, we stayed four nights, and on the second the toilet paper finished and was not replaced (it's ok because there are several toilets, but still...).
location wifi price/quality reasonable for student dorm fine for short stay kitchen facilities, showers are clean
water from tap not drinkable? no lift walls very thin limited en-suite
Perfect location, very helpful staff. The area is beautiful and quiet.
Only positive things are the staff was excellent and the bus stop was very close
Very dirty, the walls are all layered with dirt. There are no rooms with a toilet attached so you have to go across the hall or down the stairs to get to one, and there's only a few on your floor. The whole hotel smells awful, like onions and rotting wood. NO lift. We were on the second floor and had to walk up 4 flights of stairs with heavy luggage. Wi-Fi only works downstairs not in the room. Close to a bus stop but not the tube. Showers are small. The beds are ROCK HARD. It feels like I was sleeping on the floor, not a bed. No air conditioning. No breakfast. I found a huge spider in my bed one night and several other bugs throughout the hotel. Not even a hotel, more like a run down hostel. Will not stay again.
very good location, not noisy at all staff is super friendly very helpfull for extra information
no double bed (as a couple it would be nice)
