Excellent location near Gloucester Rd and South Kensington tube, quiet, powerful shower with good hot water, cooking facilities plus fridge and freezer space. Peaceful and green street. Can walk to King's Road, River Thames and Hyde Park.
The staff who checked me in were much friendlier and more pleasant than the guy who was on reception when I checked out.
- great location few minutes from the centre - good price in comparison to other similar kinds of accommodation in London - kitchen facilities
Confort - big room !! Location - near Hyde Park
Large room, central location, kitchen use and laundry. Excellent
Lovely area and staff
Dirty, dank with mould in bathroom. Tiny bathroom. Could barely move, shower flooded whole space. Single bed was expected but so uncomfortable
location cleanliness room size
we asked staff to order a taxi and we accepted the expensive price they gave us, then on the way the taxi driver told us that he will charge us even more for the same distance. i know this is additional service but if the taxi company is not honest they should stop dealing with them
Great location in a very nice area
Bed could be warmer
the price and location
for the price i cant complain
The best thing about Evelyn Gardens is the location, I would say. Yes, you will need to take a bus/the tube to go to the city center, but London is a big city, so you will use the public transport anyway. The area itself is charming and (most importanly) feels safe. My room turned out to be better than I'd expected, I had pretty much space for sleeping, storing my stuff and even some workspace. Having a shared bathroom was't a problem at all, the place was cleaned up and deserted :) Tee/cofee facilities and plastic cups are provided in the shared kitchen. Summing up, I would say it's a good place to stay.
Wi-fi connection was a huge dissapointment, to be honest, as it just simply doesn't work outside the main bilding. But usually you are allowed to use the computer at the check-in point.
The location is great, good area, the rooms are generous, the beds were comfortable.
Only one pillow should be two and expensive wifi, should be free to attract more clients, should have double glazed windows, as there was a draft throught the window and the street noise was not nice.
The room was spacious, clean and well-supplied with toiletries and bedding. There are numerous power points and wired internet is available. there are cafes available within 5 to 10 minutes walk.
no wireless internet. i had a macbook air with me, which doesn't have a port for a LAN cable, and had to find a cafe to go online. it's also quite a walk from both gloucester road and south kensington tube stations (almost 10 mins either way).
- Big room - Bus 211 is a good connection to Victoria Station (although quite far) - It could be fun if you are traveling as a young group of friends with no high comfort standards
- Quite far from the main attractions - There was so much noise coming from up above that we had the feeling we were underneath a basketball court - On our last day we could not let our luggage for storage after check-out, so from 10 o'clock in the morning we had to drag the suitcases after us for the rest of the day until our flight - Small bath room - In 4 nights stay nobody came to clean the room or to collect the garbage - WiFi available only in the common room, for the private rooms there were some wires - Overall disappointing
Attention: this is not a hotel, but a student residence. So, be prepared to the situation. Positive: Location in Zone 1, 10 min walk to South Kensignton Station.
Towels were not changed during all the 4-night stay. Shared bathrooms could be cleanned more frequently.
Coz I required a quiet room and I requested in advance, the room was in a quiet area and I enjoyed during my stay.
The kitchen facilities were poor and even no dishes and washing liquid provided
The location is very good, near underground station. Good neighbourhood..
No wifi. You have to pay £5 to have it and only in common room.
great location; close to underground; walking distance to exhibition road and hyde park; Tea and coffee available in the kitchen; big and clean room; helpful staff;
Such a great location - perfect for all the sightseeing and just having a walk around the area. Bathrooms were always clean and kitchen was really useful. Not the most glamorous room but for the price it's great.
Spacious communal kitchen, hot showers, good sleep
location! (you can be on Piccadilly Circus in 20 minutes) shared bathroom was not a problem, clean and private 24/7 helpful reception
equipment and environment seems old and worn you can hear people stepping at the floor above which is slightly uncomfortable when you are sensitive on falling asleep kitchen and shower were dirty (which depends on other guests primarily)
Superb location, busses and shops at doorstep, really nice neighbourhood. Lots of space in room. Room is airy and bright. Towels provided and free tea and coffee in kitchen. 24 hr hot shower. Fairly clean everywhere. Excellent value overall and will definitely stay again!
No kettle or glasses in room. Facilities are adequate but basic. Staff mixed up several times about check out date and time and phoned in to get me out?!
Evelyn Gardens is part of the Imperial Collage dorms. This meant very affordable accommodations in a pricy part of London. The hotel is walking distance from two underground stations Gloucester Road (District and Circle Lines) and South Kensington (District, Circle, and Piccadilly Lines), which made the getting to major attractions simple. It is also in walking distance from Kensington Park and Palace.
As this is a dormitory style accommodation, you need to go in with specific expectations. There are shared shower and toilet facilities, but each room does have its own sink. However, there is non-potable water in all taps.
Location is excellent Large communal gardens Unlimited fast50mb broadband socket Clean kitchen and toilet
No wifi in the room Toilet and shower per person ratio Kitchen not enough during peak period No plates or utensils for cooking No double bed room only twin Some staffs at reception weren't quite helpful
Great location and good value for central London.
1 mins to Sainsbury's and M&S. Almost 10 mins to underground station. Good environment. Nice staff. Safe. Almost in centre London. Relatively big room.
No wifi in room but u can get Internet connection if u have laptop. No lift.
The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Remember that this is a university dorm room -- don't expect luxury and you will be very happy with youir stay.
Only complaint, the mattress was not very comfortable. I pity the poor student who has to sleep on it for 10 months a year!
