Everything about the hotel was just magical - the décor, staff, gardens, location and food. This is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in (unless you are looking for ultra-modern). The décor is unique with surprises around every corner both in the common areas and the rooms. My room had a huge free-standing antique bath tub and a four poster bed. Very comfortable and welcoming. There is an indoor pool that would be great if I had had more time and would be fabulous for families with kids. The staff were friendly, knowledgable and were very helpful. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and all meals were well presented and very good. The gardens around the hotel would be very relaxing in good weather (we had rain) and it's a very short walk to the river and town. The lobby/lounge has lots of squishy comfortable couches and chairs grouped around and is very welcoming - the sort of place you could spend the afternoon with a book - and there are quirky books everywhere for the guests to peruse. I just loved this hotel and would go back again and again if it wasn't a 6000 mile journey. The Christmas package sounds delightful for a short getaway. Highly recommended!!
I liked the off-beat nature of the hotel and how it blended seamlessly with all of the facilities and services of a well-run hotel. The staff were helpful and attentive. The food was excellent in the airy, luxurious dining room. The sausages at breakfast - the mark of a hotel that cares - were perfect. Our room was large enough to accommodate two comfortable arm chairs in addition to the huge bed. Brilliant.
There was nothing I would fault. I
A homely hotel with friendly and helpful staff, with an interesting history and easy walking distance of the centre of Evesham. The teddy bear themed bedroom was comfortable and quiet and a pleasant change from the normal clinical feel of most modern hotels. The hotel has a beautiful garden open to residents to sit peacefully or play croquet etc.
Although we were not disappointed by this hotel, it was a little expensive at £135 B&B.
Good food lovely rooms and teddy bears for key rings with a resident teddy bear in the rooms! Had a lovely time
Lovely hotel, great food. Relaxing and friendly.
Unfortunately in our room the shower didn't work. There was a notice saying it was because we were last in the line and they were working on it. Would have has full marks if it hadn't been for this.
Location, easy going staff manner, facilities for all ages, quirkiness of Hotel in general.
Really nice place for the people who want to have a good rest. Attractive, tidy, everything is perfect there.
Style and ambience in depth assistance with guide books and maps
Relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly and efficient staff. Pleasing décor.
Dinners were expensive and not adequate. The main ingredient i.e. meat/chicken was very generous but there were no potatoes and no fresh green vegetables. We cannot fault the quality or cooking of the meat but meals needed to be accompanied by some more filling extras i.e. potatoes or carrots or broccoli perhaps.
Just a fantastic atmosphere about the hotel . The staff were brilliant the food wonderful and the rooms comfy with every little thing you could need . The hotel was gem of a find .
I had to come home
Nice food, nice rooms, friendly staff. Well run hotel full of quirky features and near to the Cotswolds.
Nothing apart from Evesham town.
The hotel was everything we hoped it would be. The room was excellent, the food in the evening and morning was amazing and the staff were very friendly.
There was nothing to complain about.
hotel was nice, even unique, though the climb to room 19 was a lot of stairs to encompass for our age. Having got there the room was comfortable and no problem. It contained all you could really ask for on a short break. the Pool was very nice and well maintained. The owner was a little "different" and if you were not forewarned as we were, he could come over as a little blunt and insulting, but we were prepared.
The breakfast was a little skimpy to say the least in places, given the overall price paid (e.g. half a slice of Black Pudding, a bit mean to say the least) but at least it was served on a heated dish.
All of it
No tape beer, only portable was bit average.
Odd, dated, uncomfortable for 2, not terribly good value for money. Keys attached to bears.
Filthy seats In room. Tiny TV old older than the hills. Dinner wasn't up to much either. Got hot at night
After London bustle this must be one of the most peaceful & relaxing hotel environments. Love the quirky character/pristine cleanliness & polish/ever smiling & obliging staff (particularly at meals)/beauty & quiet of mulberry grove. Can't wait to stay again. Husband thought morning kippers amazing!
Bit disappointed with Room 22 after Room 20 last time! Bathroom in Room 20 is to die for with its space and spotlighting. Although not disabled we will definitely ask for Room 20 in future. Armchairs in Room 22 rather low and uncomfortable.
it was a fun hotel
Mine host prone to insulting comments.
Welcoming and friendly staff Imaginative room decor Quality of fittings Good food
Excellent room, excellent good, excellent, friendly staff. The owner's sense of humour colours everything. Beautiful grounds. Cannot fault this hotel.
friendly greeting.ease of access.lovely evening meal in a pleasant dining room . would love to go back.
journey down from Durham by road. Hopeless is a pleasant way to describe it.
Very nice hotel with lots of quirky items such as mirror that talked to you in the toilets! Room was very large compared to some of the more modern hotel rooms and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay again
Nice, friendly staff. We had a 2 night stay and would definatly stay there again. The room was really nice and also able to take our dog. Highly recommended.
The staff were excellent,The food excellent.Very nice rooms spotless.
The price of a large glass of house wine at £6.75. no draught beer other than the local brew.Teddy bears everywhere.
