The hotel was a stones throw from the city bustle, and it had everything you would require for a short stay trip to Glasgow.
Reasonably good sized room. Bit tight between foot of bed and the wall. Comfortable bed and room facilities were good. Breakfast was sufficient. Location very handy for all means of transport and close to theatres, shops, attractions.
The breakfasts could be varied on every other day or every week but to get the same limited choice day after day is boring.
The hotel is in a good position relative to city centre, stations, bus station - all within easy walking distance. The room and bathroom were well appointed and the latter very clean. A good shower in a spacious enclosure.
Breakfast is provided in a space that is difficult logistically - they perhaps need to be able to spread the buffet items out over a longer counter so that one does not feel one is at the January sales when getting any item. I really dislike tea and coffee from machines - a pot of tea at breakfast is the sign of a civilised society!
Handy for our visit to the theatre, shops and places to eat and drink.
Breakfast, not much choice
Staff very nice.
Breakfast selection not good.Very expensive for size of room.
Not good parking
Location Comfortable Room if a little small Good bathroom & shower
A little expensive for what it is Breakfast not great.
Clean and tidy, bed amazingly comfy and breakfast filling.
No bacon for breakfast!!
This is a well run, conveniently situated, clean and pleasant hotel. Everyone we came into contact with was pleasant and courteous.
We requested a quiet room and were given a twin room on the 5th floor at the back thus avoiding the street/traffic noise and the rumbling of the underground which other people had complained of. What we did not realise though was that our room overlooked a massive aircon vent on the building opposite. The noise was truly horrendous and meant that we could not have the window open. They lent us a fan which was helpful but we felt confined as our room was very small. The width of our room was just over 9 feet and the wall which our beds faced just 30" from the end of the bed .The passage at the entrance of the room narrows to 2 feet where a unit meets the corner of the bathroom wall.We have been in other Holiday Inn Express hotels and have never been in a room as small as this. Note also that there is no airconditioning. In short, for a 1 night stay we would have been fine but for four nights we felt stressed and hemmed in.For this reason we would not return. We are realistic about the price we paid and did not expect a huge space but this was just too tiny.
Son near to bus station and shops also cinema.
There was'nt an electric socket near to the mirror to use hair tongs .
Hotel is in a great location close to all the shops bars restaurants cinema staff very helpful breakfast was good had a good sleep didnt find hotel noisy
The room was a bit too warm could have done with airconditioning
Basic but comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff giving excellent service
breakfast poor sever lack of plug points in room
Location, breakfast ,
The room we got was clean but it had a strong fusty smell, but yes would stay again
very close off the motorway and walking distance to city centre
A little noisy outside window from extraction unit
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring the centre of Glasgow.
The price...though we stayed during the Commonwealth Games and I wouldn't expect to pay the rate I was charged if I stayed again. I would certainly consider the hotel if I were to return to Glasgow.
Helpful staff and central location
Cost very high but due to the Commonwealth Games
The hotel was central for all attractions and easy walking distance to see all the relevant sites. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were well maintained, comfortable and clean.
As we were into our British heat wave, there was no air con in the rooms which made them a little stuffy.
I didn't like the fact that they put up their prices to £350 a room on the opening ceremony day, 23rd July, the price went down to £325.50 for 24th july. This is normally a £95 a night room. A rip-off, preventing ordinary people from coming to stay in Glasgow for the games.
Friendliness and welcome from members of staff Clean and good value for money Location excellent for city centre
Lack of power points in room Very warm - almost uncomfortably so
noisy room, modest breakfast
The location is fantastic, staff were welcoming and rooms spotless
Good location Friendly staff Clean and comfortable
