Score from 606 reviews Excellent
Very good value option for a short stay in the area. Simple room, but very clean and a great shower. Well priced dinner menu and good breakfast included.
Rooms are very small and while the menu is good, it offers a fairly limited choice. Rather characterless surroundings in the bar and restaurant. However, considering the price it still represents very good value for money.
they did hold the room for following day if we need to come back after hospital visit instead of driving home that was good of them
Breakfast excellent Room/Bthroom very good Staff very friendly
Not hotels fault but road works outside means getting in to Exeter a bit cross country
Location was excellent for either Torbay or Exeter. Enjoyable evening meal.. Bed was exceedingly comfortable and we both slept well.Although main road was nearby the hotel and room were quiet.
Perfect place for a long weekend. Brilliant all round, especially for the low price.
Friendly place and staff
No pub, restaurant is small
Clean, comfortable well appointed room Fabulous shower Excellent meeting room (we were there for a large meeting on site) Location is convenient as a stopover but not as a destination Parking excellent
Rooms are accessed by leaving reception and walking through the car park - not ideal. The room blocks look a little austere. One of the staff members - I think he was a manager - spoke such poor English it was impossible to understand him (not just me - and I do have a good ear for accents). There is nothing in easy reach aside from the petrol station - you have to drive everywhere.
Location - just on the side of M5, easy to reach an exhibition center. Good food at the bar/restaurant, news papers are provided in the reception.
Tea/coffee facilities are hidden in a desk draw with hardly noticeable sign on it. Apparently, we were not the first guests who did not find it and presumed that the facilities are not provided in the rooms. Thank you to a bar staff for telling us! It would be very helpful if cleaners remember to properly close the window in the room as a security measure (all rooms at hotel are on the ground floor) and to keep the room temperature pleasantly warm.
Shower was excellent. Room was spacious. Parking very close to room was very useful. You are right on the A38 but protected from the noise, so its very quick for travelling in and out. Petrol station also handy. Lovely views.
The male bar manager needs to be more friendly.
Shower, room, breakfast
Not many plug sockets
Service, room and quality of breakfast excellent;fantastic value for money.
Receptionist was helpful and had my details to hand already when I went to check in. Breakfast was lovely and very good portion size. Evening meals in the bar were very good, well cooked and tasty. My request for a specific room was accepted - overall very good stay
The heating only seemed to work periodically and turning up the radiator in the room did not help - however the new decorated bathroom was very warm with plenty of hot water.
I liked the older lady at the bar who seemed to be running the restaurant, she was very welcoming and kind, and it didn't look like she stopped. Each course was very quick and the food was fine particularly considering the low prices i enjoyed my meal in the evening.
Breakfast was poor, stood around for 5mins waiting for a staff member to appear? staff could do with some personality at breakfast. the breakfast was very dissappointing.
Staff were really friendly, the hotel rooms were spacious, clean, warm and had all facilities. 2 day stay was really comfortable. The food was excellent and very good value for money. Definitely staying again when I'm next in the South West
Good location Good food Friendly staff Great fish tank !!
amazing and clean bathroom, great friendly staff, great parking and location, clean rooms and comfortable beds
the take away breakfast, apart from the Apple was all sweet food, no savory. Rooms are very small
The location is ideal for visiting South Devon. Stayed here twice now and found the large double more comfortable. Friendly staff.
Found the cooked breakfast on all three days not hot enough.
breakfast was excellent the staff was excellent
there was nothing I didn`t like
Lovely friendly staff, restaurant open on a Sunday evening and bar food available until 9pm also a pub next door. This saves going out to look for somewhere to eat. Full English breakfast was freshly cooked and was included in the price. Free Parking.
The rooms were a little small, but ours was only an overnight stop so it was adequate.
