There were no cupboards or draws in the rooms to store things.drinks and food were very expensive
For the price and location, fantastic value. The breakfast choice was good and very efficient. Would definitely stay again.
Staff really helpful and courteous. Spacious and airy hotel.
No sky sports.
Quiet stay Breakfast was very good Plenty of parking space
Just a bit out from anywhere. Probably would have preferred the holiday inn nearer the town and cruise port. But would definitely stay there again
Everything. Brilliant breakfast, lovely room, very clean.
The bed, the mattress was a bit hard. But that is not a complaint, I appreciate its personal preference.
being served lager in a bitter glass
The location was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful, really can't fault the hotel.
Room, comfort, helpful reception staff. Location. Toast and cold items for breakfast were good.
Unable to get a phone signal - this happens in most hotels, is it deliberate?? Cooked breakfast was poor, i suppose it didn't help that they were very busy and probably didn't have time to cook items properly? i.e. there was a tray with about 5 or 6 layers of bacon which looked still alive, bright pink!
Mr Chaba, at front desk was so kind & helpful. A really wonderful employee!
Restaurant was closed when I needed it, so went to bed with no supper or lunch.....
location and price breakfast was good too apart from the queues, but it was half term
price of the very mediocre wine! and the attitude of the barman - very take it or leave it. Other staff were efficient but not effusive. Have been made more welcome, but they weren't rude. The bed was terrible - we wished we had swopped with our grandson and had the sofa bed which weemed more comfortable!
Rooms were very clean and tidy, comfortable bed. Food menu although small the quality was very good.
Very little choice in drinks, ie; if you required a vodka and lemonade you would be offered a 7 up. Small bar area not always staffed properly, you often had to wait, and slow to clear a queue.
Everything about the hotel. would have liked to be able to leave car whilst on cruise.
Bit far out of Southampton. ,
The cooked breakfast was the worst I've had for a long time
Didn't enjoy the food or the staff who served it. It just seemed a very casual and basic place to stay
Very clean. breakfast available early till late. Hotel well located. Friendly staff.
There was no luggage trolley available for us to get our luggage to the room. As we were going on a long cruise we had a lot of luggage it meant several journeys back and forth when checking in and then checking out. The reception staff said the trolleys were all in use, but would be available soon, however not one trolley appeared the whole time we were there.
Bedroom good position very quiet and plenty of towels warm bedroom attentive reception staff
Breakfast was poor. food choice not enough queing systems poorly organised. Food was not hot either I was on my own and requested a double bed which there was. But there was also a bedsettee set up in the room so I could not access the chair or the dressing table
Close to venue
I wouldn't serve that breakfast to anyone . Shut the bar early . Room is soulless & at £80 over priced
The food was beautiful, our room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were very polite and helpful we couldn't of asked for any more.
The room was clean and the toilette was bright. The quality of the breakfast was also fair: English breakfast, croissant, coffee and tea. The parking was capacious.
There was no room service, so I had to walk to the bar beside the reception to grab two bottles of water. The bed was not that comfortable and the internet speed was low.
Very clean modern hotel with an included good breakfast (plenty of choice). Good price.
Had to keep doing the wi-fi registration as it kept logging out.
Everything was lovely. Very kind friendly staff, food was nice and great choice for breakfast. Check in really quick and easy. We asked for a ground floor room close to reception because of mobility issues and were given a great room close to everything.
Nothing to complain about.
food was delicious staff very friendly comfortable beds
wifi was always over subscribed so never got any connection food service was extremely slow
Standard Holiday Inn set-up, apart from the Alcatraz type security to the car park which combined with my experience of the surprise extra authorisations required after you had entered the 'compound' made me feel like an new inmate to a Shawshank Redemption type prison. Previously I spent nine months on a weekly basis at the Cardiff Holiday Inn paid for by a Government Department, and three months at the Glasgow Holiday Inn paid for a major UK bank, so I have some experience of Holiday Inn's, but never again.
Pre-authorisation of the debit card even before the time for cancellation of the booking had expired. On arrival was told it was a requirement to make a further pre-authorisation of £50 for 'ancillary services' such as evening meals, bars, etc which were not required. . When authorisation for this was refused by myself they required £50 in cash to be held until I checked out. It was explained we were going out for dinner, nevertheless this was insisted upon. I found the whole experience insulting and intimidating. In any case the hotel has a barrier which prevents you from leaving until they give you the code top leave with your car. I have used Holiday Inn quite a lot, and indeed have a loyalty card, but this was the worst experience I have ever encountered. Furthermore these 'requirements' were not disclosed by Booking. com prior to the booking.
Poor mobile reception.
