Can't praise exmoor country house highly enough The perfect place for a weekend escape Friendly, welcoming owners, clean spacious room, roaring fire, beautiful house in an excellent location
Only staying one night was the only negative. I really wish we stayed a couple more

Very warm welcome and attention to detail notable.
Service Food general comfort
Can't think of a dislike
we felt that Exmoor House was a lovely place to come back to after a day out, it was a home from home, only better. We were looked after very well. Steve and Sally had thought of everything. Our room also had great views. Food was very good too.
Sally and Steve were so welcoming. They went to so much trouble for one of our party who is a coeliac (gluten free diet).....with gluten free chocolate in the bedroom and wonderful breakfast. We were given a complimentary drink in the evening and free cheese, biscuits and other nibbles whilst relaxing in the lovely lounge area in comfy arm chairs. A very special place to stay - we will definitely return!
Absolutely nothing! Everything was great.
Proprieters were friendly and very helpful. Excellent breakfasts.Would be happy to return and recommend to friends.
No wardrobe space so not suitable for a longer stay.
The house was stunning we both agreed we could happily live there. Every thing about it was excellent from the complementary early evening drinks, the excellent breakfast to the high standard of the room and the very attractive lounge. Steve and Sally went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and I would highly recommend the Exmoor B&b to anyone.
The wi - fi was a bit iffy
We especially enjoyed our room and the lovely garden and amount of parking compared to other places we have stayed in Porlock. Breakfast and our evening meal was delicious.
Our stay was superb the accommodation was first class and our hosts were magnificent. I would throughly recommend staying here and we can not wait to return.
The house is beautiful and easy to get to other parts of Exmoor national park. Countryside is even better than anticipated. Steve and Sally are very accommodating and think of all the details.
Hospitality hour ,breakfast times, shower, location views nothing was to much trouble.Very friendly host's.
The walk back from the village in the dark, however torches and kind advice was given.
The hospitality of Sally and Steve was outstanding. The accommodation was perfect breakfast excellent would highly recommend this hotel as the place to stay.
The place is beautiful, service excellant. We stayed in room six wondeful view no WIFI and shower very small other than that great.
Food, location, parking, quietness were all excellent but the friendly advice, snacks and relaxed atmosphere made it a truly nice weekend
friendliness of staff nothing too much trouble, room very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. nice touch with the milk for tea, coffee etc placed in a thermostatic dispenser that ensured it was kept fresh and cold, standard of breakfast very good, whole of the house was tastefully decorated and clean
no en-suit bathroom however did have private bathroom very clean with own key
Very friendly welcome Excellent facilities Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. Clean , modern room with excellent en-suite shower room Good selection of in room drinks. Great location for exploring beautiful Exmoor
I have yet to stay in a B & B able to match the excellence of Exmoor Country House, which is immaculately clean, friendly, comfortable and quite. Steve and Sally go out of their way to be helpful. They are charmingly polite and welcoming. The breakfasts and evening meal I had were excellent. The house is well situated for all wishing to explore Exmoor.
Exmoor House is a lovely period house in a beautiful setting which has been sympathetically modernised and attractively re-decorated. However, in addition to the setting, the reasonable pricing of its rooms and the welcoming, efficient management of the hotel by owners Steve and Sally, it is the little details that make this such an excellent place to stay. Firstly, Steve emailed separately to confirm the booking, check when we were arriving, give directions and advise on the menu if we chose to dine there. Then there were the free drink and nibbles on arrival (between 6 and 7pm only) and the honesty bar thereafter. Torches are hung in the entrance lobby for guests wishing to walk into nearby Porlock. A notice near the stereo in the bar/lounge invites guests to turn the music up or down as they see fit. There is a sealed flask of proper milk on the first floor landing for guests to use for morning tea/coffee. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and spacious, with binoculars thoughtfully placed on the windowsill if you feel the need for some nature-watching. All in all, a model example to hotel and B&B owners everywhere on how to run a great guest house!
Never been given such a warm welcome. Delicious breakfast and the friendliest staff ever. Definitely recommend. Just wish we had stayed longer!
Apart from the location and quality of accommodation Steve and Sally Thompson are wonderful hosts and nothing, however small, was too much trouble for them. We enjoyed a most relaxing experience in every way.
We could noy find fault.
The whole experience was most comfortable, relaxing just a great place to spend a few days.Steve and Sally are excellent hosts.
One of, if not the best b&b we have ever stayed in. Steve & Sally were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent.
Perfect hosts. Great food. Lovely Bedrooms and dining area. House is in a beautiful setting. Will definitely return.
The only thing, of which I was made aware of before staying, was the seperate bathroom. An ensuite bedroom is preferrable, if available.
