Welcoming and efficient staff. Good food. Well run Hotel in a perfect position to explore Exmoor.
Stayed before and will do again
I enjoyed the meal and all the drinks I ordered including the large selection of malt whiskeys.
I did not like the bench style seating in the bar area, which I found very uncomfortable (couldn`t get my legs under) and would suggest some individual comfortable seating for those that have finished dining, with perhaps small coffee style tables for their drinks.
Bar food was poor.
We found the hotel very relaxing. The staff were all friendly and the food very good.
Lovely village position, plenty of car parking, Lovely old country building, nice staff, great breakfast.
The room was a cramped with seats that were not really needed, small point though.
All staff welcoming,room excellent,food amazing!
Staff service first class Restaurant food very good Great atmosphere in bar Great village/Exmoor atmosphere
Shower in room poor
Loved the White Horse Inn - lovely setting in Exford by the stream, perfect base to explore the area and get onto Exmoor. We had great rooms and thought the food excellent , at breakfast and dinner
food, location, staff, room
bread rolls at dinner were not very good, we suggested that people should have a choice.
Staff very friendly and attentive. Room comfortable
We were rather disappointed with the meat and fish dishes - both a bit overcooked and chewy. But we appreciate how busy and stretched you were in the evenings when we were in the dining room
Everything about the White Horse Inn was fantastic. Would have no hesitation about staying there again.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms clean, comfortable and tidy. Lovely atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Good food.
Too be very picky ....the small car parking space
The whole atmosphere and environment was most welcoming. Ideal place if like us you're walkers.
The rooms were warm, very comfortable and clean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
The three dinners which we had in the restaurant were all very poor. We can only describe the meals as being "ok". They lacked imagination and quality. Frozen vegetables were widely used including frozen potatoes. Salads lacked dressing, main dishes didn't have enough sauce and meals were dried out.
We enjoyed the location, the friendly, welcoming staff and the food was excellent.the selection of beers was extensive and bar staff were knowledgeable.
Parking a little difficult, as so many patrons.
Really enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and surroundings and we were treated really well, would go back again.
Particularly welcoming & obliging staff. Substantial & well-cooked local food. Quiet location, perfect for Exmoor activities.
Portion control sauces: the food deserves better. Fixtures a bit dated. Could do with an overall upgrade as the hotel has a lot going for it.
The location and atmosphere of the Hotel, and every member of staff were always more than helpful in anyway they could be. And as for the Whiskey collection, superb!!!
I honestly cannot remember anything negative, the only slight grumble was that the central heating had been set very hot, but we soon sorted that out.
shower. small room
The staff could not do enough for us to make sure our stay was an enjoyable experience! Highly recommend the white horse
Staff were excellent - professional and friendly. The bar has the best collection of whiskey I've ever seen. Had a power cut during dinner and the staff didn't miss a beat. Breakfast was unbeatable, best I've had in a long time. Bedroom was huge.
Too many new items of décor for such an old building. The restaurant was very modern. The bedroom and bathroom were not in keeping with the building either and had an eclectic mix of styles.
Good experience all round. My nom de plume is Howard Arnold for any quoting!
The friendly helpful staff also the wonderful meals which were always presented without a long wait. We found the location Perfect for our hunting weekend.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They even liked our dogs!!! Our room was extremley spacious
The food. Considering the hotel staff made you feel like part of the family, the menus did not include very much local produce or classic home-made foods.
