location of room
one uncomfortable put-u-up plus one uncomfortable double bed. We asked for twin beds.
Staff was excellent!!! Accommodation reasonable compared to other similar hotels and clean. Great location.
Location is superb Staff is very friendly and helpful Facilities are clean and modern Breakfast is very good with lots of choices
No luggage racks. Had to leave suitcases on the floor. Could use one more towel bar to help let things dry quicker. A coat hangar on the back of the door would also be helpful as closet space is limited
Good location for station and visitor attractions. We were here for the University Open Day, so it was well placed for the University buildings too. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
We had a lower ground room where there was no phone reception on either of our phones (serviced by two different providers O2 & EE); but the hotel Wifi was fine.
We liked location and being able to walk everywhere, particularly the university for open day. Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff friendly, approachable and helpful. Breakfast included which was adequate with plenty of choice. Free wifi for 2 devices.
Able to check in early and also leave cases on day of departure
Friendly & helpful staff. Good basic breakfast. Clean comfortable room. Good location, walking distance from everything.
Location was ideal.
Access to public transportation was iffy, but that is not the fault of the hotel, but rather of the transit system. While we were there some of the busses changed routes without notice because of the crowds of the Fringe Festival. Most annoying.
Very convenient situation. Very friendly & helpful reception. Clean room. Good breakfast.
The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. It was close to all the city's attractions. We would use this hotel again when we come back to the Fringe in future years.
The room had no view and no porridge on the menu!
You know what to get with a Holiday Inn facility. Showers are always good, rooms vary in size depending on location. Some mattresses are lumpy. The towels always clean and fluffy.
Wish the rooms were more spacious were good for a quick overnight visit but when you are staying for more that one night as we were in Edinburgh the rooms were a bit short on size.
Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Location very close to the centre.
No signal on phones at times not a huge problem but we were meeting friends in other locations and sometimes were out of contact until we got outside. A niggle rather than a great problem.
So central, staff always helpful.
Anna -Karin on reception was outstanding ......could not have been more helpful or pleasant. She deserves a lot of credit/praise for her customer service skills.
no complaints. It was festival time so hotel prices everywhere were sky-high.
Located in Old Town, this hotel is on a walking distance from the Royal Mile and most of the top attractions in Edinburgh, but not too close so that it offers a quiet night after a long day of entertainment. The hotel itself offers good value for your money. The rooms have everything you need and a decent breakfast is served every morning.
The room we had, was connected with another room by a double door, probably to connect the two rooms in case a family would visit. Unforunately, our neighbours were not very quiet people, making loud telephone calls and waking us up early in the morning.
we were only allowed 2 Wi-Fi accesses and we had 3 people, therefore 3 devices. and renewing it each day was tedious
Location! Friendly & helpful desk staff.
Disappointing breakfast, pesky key card system to work the lift, general sense of being economy class in small details like tea tray, plastic cup in bathroom-- which did not seem to this inexperienced traveler to match the price tag!
Noise from people in the street disturbed our sleep.

The location was great . All was well especially the ladies at the front desk were very helpful and pleasant
The varieties at breakfast was very limited ,If they are offering sausage at least they should gave choice of chicken or pork but the only option was pork. they really need to understand that some people don't eat pork. The WiFY was very limited to two unites and the pass ward was changed every single day and has to be picked up from the reception which is such a pain.
The location was excellent looked very smart with tubs of flowers outside giving the hotel great kerb appeal warm & very friendly receptionist who was also very helpful when we struggled with the lift .
Thought the hot breakfast could have more of a selection we had to fight over the sausages 3 left no bacon no tomatoes or mushrooms scrambled egg and beans were really it but we made do .
The location was handy for all the attractions and in walking distance of the castle. One of the few hotels providing breakfast. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room helped with costs. Free wifi. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff.
Having to pay £200.a night!!!
Welcome by staff and their service at breakfast and tourist information
The receptionist, Amanda, was very friendly and very helpful with directions etc. It's a great location for the Royal Mile, Castle etc yet still nice and peaceful. We were very pleased with our choice.
There was nothing to dislike.
