Nice hotel in very good location near everything in Edinburgh.

Helpfull staff.

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. Not on Royal Mile but in a really run down area. Uncomfortable beds. Dirty and tired. Stale food at breakfast. Difficult approach with restricted stopping and car park a good walk away.

Location was great and breakfast was good but they repeated exactly the same breakfast for one of my three days stay. Even the blueberry muffins were same on all the three days.

Rooms were very small and cramped.

the room was ideally quiet and comfortable, the breakfast was good value and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful..They helped us to find our way around the city and gave us good advice about places to eat and enjoy. Many thanks.

It was really well located, just one block away from the Royal Mille. Breakfast was also ok, even the place wasn't nice.

There was only one lift which took forever to go up and down. Wifi would only last 24 hs, after that a new wifi password needed to be requested. They didn't have adapters at the reception, which I found ridic. I was amazed about all this details taking into account the price of the hotel.

The staff were really nice and friendly. There was free WiFi, the location was excellent being quite central but in a quiet road. The breakfast was good and the room decor was warm and cheery.

The lack of hotel-specific parking was a bit irritating. We were lucky to find street parking outside but had to be up in the morning to pay for it.

The fact I know I will never stay in a Holiday Inn again!!!

The staff were unfriendly when they had double booked!! one of us got moved to another hotel because they had double booked (Miles away). Then let someone check in after us!! They couldn't give a VAT receipt!!!!!! There was a 3 inch nail sticking out next to the bed head/pillow (we have photos) The mattress was on the floor!!

Nothing to dislike

The reception staff were very helpful and the location for the Royal Mile was perfect.

Cowgate is only a 20 minute stroll to Princes Street which is our main destination. Choice of a SOFT pillow

Your food access for breakfast was very crowded and exacerbated by being next to the door used by staff to remove trays and restock.

The convenience of the location, value for money, good customer service. Clean room. Everything you need to enjoy a holiday. We have enjoyed our short stay thoroughly.

Towels were not changed when we were there on first night. We had to ask for it to be changed which wasn't a problem really.

I appreciated most things not least the proximity of the town and is attractions and locations to have a meal.

I was unaware of the parking issues and that I would be required to pay an additional £10.50 a night and that I would be required not only locate the car park but to walk uphill from the car park. I have angina and this was a painful walk, once I had found the car park. This should be more clearly advertised in your details. The 'lift' was interesting in that it often did not respond to correctly 'keyed in' instructions. Frequently it took us to different floors both up and down prior to eventually terminating at th floor of choice - we were of course not alone in this as I discovered speaking to various guests.

Staff and location was great

The bed wasn't very comfortable. It was just ok.

Our bathroom was not cleaned properly and we found patches of faeces around teh toilet which was disgusting. We told someone and the whole rrom was cleaned thoroughly that day but we weren't offered any compensation.

Great service and location

The hotel was clean with friendly reception staff.

For the price I found it offensive to have a self cleaning 'restaurant'. It felt like a supermarket cafe. The bar area was just a collection of sofas next to reception, offering no opportunity to relax there.

Comfort, convenient to transit and shopping and sightseeing, friendly informative staff...very, very helpful. Breakfast was ample and wonderful.

Room & bathroom was clean, warm enough, modern; staff was very friendly and helpful; breakfast was good; excellent location!

TV had only 5-6 basic channels; breakfast could have been better

The staff was so helpful! The city center was so close. And shopping was very close. To see the sights of Edinburgh the walk was quite easy from this location. The breakfast was wonderful.

The room was a good size, clean and quiet. The breakfast was pretty good too.

No bath!

The location

It was very noisy at night from other guests.

Staff very polite and pleasant. Clean and well appointed room close to local amenities and short walk to Royal Mile.

As with other HIEs I've stayed in, breakfast arrangement a little chaotic, with people getting under each others feet (usually waiting for toast to cook is the problem). Could do with a better system.

Everything was great. I like the staff. People are kind and helpful.

Lack of vegetables and raw food in the breakfast menu.
