Holiday Inn Express Folkestone Channel Tunnel    

The proximity to the channel tunnel. The staff recommended a pub to our evening meal which was excellent. (The New Inn about 5 minutes away), This hotel is fine as a 1 night stop.

Beds, too soft.

The Holiday Inn and facilities were very clean and modern. The staff were excellent and accommodated my dietary needs in the morning with no fuss. The location was perfect as we were catching the early morning channel tunnel train and it is as close to the tunnel as it is possible to be.

The bed was quite small for a double, the Travelodge beds are much bigger. Personally, I also found the mattress too soft, but of course, this is a matter of personal taste.

No WiFi in room

Perfect place to stay if you need to travel to mainland Europe via the Eurotunnel. Also right next to a 24 hour Tesco grocery store with a gas station. Very good breakfast.

Basic, no frills like free wifi access, a must in todays society. Restaurant food mediocre and overpriced.

Good facilities perfect stop over for travelling to / from europe.

Food was good Convenient for tunnel

My daughter booked and arranged for payment to be taken from her card. On checkout the porter did not look at the screen, so my wife and myself were left feeling embarassed when stating this to him, he argued that this was not the case.

Welcoming staff. Pleasant room with basic furnishings and a shower but no bath. A fair budget choice apart from the food providing you got the discounted rate. Only twin beds seemed to be on offer.

The breakfast lacked bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes and the choice of cereals was limited. We thought the evening meal was poor with no home cooked type options available. So best to eat elsewhere unless you are happy with burgers and pizzas.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff at breakfast exceptionally pleasant. Cleaning tables before allowing guests to sit down.

Full english breakfast - we were told it was continental so was a nice surprise! Shower room clean. Working air con!

Bedding too small for double bed!! Duvet cover was too small for the duvet. Even when requested another duvet it was the same. If the duvet cover had been wider then the coverage would have been adequate. The sheet was far too small also. We had to use 2 duvet covers as a sheet over us so we didn't have the actual "bare" duvet against our skin as this was stained!

Have used this hotel many times. Normally comfortable and a great stop over for Ferries from Dover. Simple well designed rooms.

No heat in my room. Asking politelyy for it to be looked at whilst out- on return finding it could go no higher than 21 degrees. Having to go to reception for it to be resolved.

Although the bed was comfortable the duvet needed to be wider so as to overhang the edges of the mattress.

Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. Rooms clean and comfortable and food cooked as requested and hot.

Alas - this was nothing like Belgium. Probably the worse meal I have ever had in a hotel (fish & chips due to the very limited choice) or restaurant. The restaurant was the breakfast room fine in the morning I imagine but not for dinner - no atmosphere and limited wine selection. Couldn't even get fresh lime for a vodka and tonic as the kitchen had run out. The double bed was very small and the early departure breakfast was gross. How can they get it so right with a gourmet restaurant in Belgium (also just off the motorway) and such a disaster in England. It can't be the price as this was more expensive so it is either the Brits put up with it or the management do not are as they know we will pay up and shut up.
