Everything, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I vote Chris the employee of the year. Room was lovely and the breakfast scrumptious. We will be returning.
There was nothing.
Staff , breakfast, room facilities were all first class.
Bed was too soft for me but that is a personal thing.
close to York
our party were woken by a member of staff talking loudly in the area outside the reception at 0300 hours and again at 0700 we banged on the window which over looked the area but they didn't stop ,we reported it in the morning but it wasn't taken seriously and nothing was written down and no apologies were offered .
Almost everything, both in the room and in the public areas. The staff members were both informed about the location and the facilities available. One young lady found the subtitled channels on TV for us. The problem of both of us being profoundly deaf turned out to be no problem for them. We have stayed in similar premises over the years but this break must be one of the top two for us. Our only problem was a breakage in a coupling for the power unit which occurred as we got off the Park and Ride bus into York.
The weather. Everything else was fine.
Staff were friendly, welcoming and polite. Location was good as was the Toby carvery next door.
Very uncomfortable bed.Lumpy pillows. Strong unpleasant smell coming into room from plug-hole in bathroom. Music from reception area kept us awake. In spite of making our views known both to the Holiday Inn York, and to Head Office,no offer of part refund was made contrary to literature in rooms! We will not be staying in this Inn again.
Friendliness of the staff, and the comfort of the room.
There was nothing I didn't like
Staff where very friendly and helpful. Rooms where very clean. Breakfast was good we where only expecting a continental breakfast
I didn't like that on the confirmation email the post code was incorrect after driving round for 40 minutes we had to phone the hotel for the correct post code
Easy access to Monks Cross Park & Ride and shopping Centre+ Scarbrough. Toby carvery at side of hotel for evening meal
Position of radiator in room
The staff were excellent. They were friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. The rooms were extremely well maintained and comfortable. Would definitely recommend a stay here and will be returning
Great location, 2 mins away from Park&Ride.
Busy at breakfast times
The staff were very friendly and helpful . A very clean hotel and the rooms are excellent. Cleaning staff are first rate and make your stay very pleasurable.
The choice of your cooked breakfast is very limited and little to choose from. Although cooked well I would of liked more to choose from.
Bed extra comfy Good breakfast Friendly staff
Very convenient to the Toby Carvery next door.
Breakfast - hot food items were just beans, scrambled eggs and sausages. Very limited selection of cereals. Internet - staff were very helpful, however after 3 attempts to connect on various user names and passwords I gave up and relied on a very poor mobile broadband signal instead.
Good location, just off ring road, but far enough away to be quiet. Sensible price.
Limited choices in the adjacent Toby Carvery restaurant for 4 nights - but Monks Cross retail park with restauarnts is only a mile away.
We use HIE regularly since you always get what it says on the can. York is no exception but they could work on the breakfast. Just off the York bypass next to a very keenly priced Toby with other (mainly chain) eateries five mins drive away at Monks Cross (Take Tastecard) Friendly helpful staff, free paper and wi-fi.
Not the best HIE breakfast but adequate. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a ground floor room at the back; as in most hotels, 1st floor landing rooms can attract noisy conversations outside! They were very helpful in moving us.
The staff were the best staff ive ever came across. They were so helpful and got out of their way to make sure our stay was the best. Breakfast was free and spot on, hotel was very clean and I notoced smelled lovely. Location was perfect and hotel was quiet with no bother at all. Can't wait to go again!!
Friendly staff, clean room nice breakfast.
Location wasn't brilliant, slightly far out!
The staff were lovely and couldn't help you enough. I would recommend this hotel and will be returning in the future Thanks for a pleasent stay.
Slightly better drinks selection and breakfast choice.
The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. All staff very helpful. Excellent value for money and perfect location - would definately use again.
noisy family next door - but that's the reality in this type of hotel.
very friendly and helpfull staff, nice size room, very clean and tidy would recommend to other people thankyou for lovely stay
Clean and friendly.
Beds were comfortable. The Staff were pleasant and helpful. Although very small the room was clean.
I was most disappointed that there was no lift. Both my husband and self have health problems and found it difficult using stairs especially when there was a party of students who lacked manners. Had I known that I certainly would not have booked. Twin room was far to small only one comfortable chair and an office chair. The dining area was cramped, food was cold, sausages were of poor quality and the eggs were like crumbs. We had our breakfast out for the rest of our stay.In comparison with the Express Inn in Derby this was poor.
Staff very helpful. Clean. Value for money
Hotel Manager very professional and kind
bathroom wasn't clean, bad smell from the bathroom sink,
