Locaiton Sofa bed was not made up when we checked in at 6pm. Had to go to reception to ask for sheets and make it up ourselves. The double bed was very bouncy and not confortable at all. The room lacked lights. It was very dark and difficulty to see in suitcase.

The mAin reason we stayed at this hotel was because our stay at regents park holiday inn last year was excellent! However after this stay disappointing sums up our feeling of the holiday inn..... The room had a strange smell which impermeated our clothes, most notcible on our return home, the bed was one of the worst beds I hqve slept in and I hqve the experience of bqckpackers hostels to compare it too! , the room service staff tried the door several times even though the do not disturb sign was put on the door, and there was not even an effort among the cleaners to keep quiet, they shouted to each other down the corriders banging the vacuum cleaner off the doors and walls as it was dragged behing them..... I am very disappointed with the hotel in general. However the reception staff couldnt do more for you..... I think in the future I would find it really hard to choose or recommend holiday inn again for myself or others.

Nice clean hotel, friendly helpful staff, reasonable distance from Newcastle and family in Gateshead. Price was ok but seemed more as I came on my own, would have been good had my wife came as well. Decent pub next door for evening meal. Will check prices next time I come in case of any offers etc but high chance I will come here again Would have prefered it if it had been located Newcastle/Gateshead quayside but realise price would have reflacted this. Also on this trip a single room option at a reduced price would have been preferred

We like the location of the hotel to the Metro centre. The staff are very friendly and accomodating and nothing is of any trouble to them. We had a proble with the toilet but the staff made sure we were alocated another room with 15 mins of reporting the fault.

Very reasonably priced for overnight stay and close to Metro Centre and bus service in to Newcastle which the friendly staff advised me about. Rooms were clean and good shower in bathroom. The breakfast offered some hot food which I wasn't expecting. All in all, very suitable for an overnight shopping trip at a budget price. Also tea/and coffee in rooms which was very welcome!

The only negative thing about our stay was the smelly sink drain in our bathroom. It needs some bleach!

Convenient location both with regards to where I wanted to go, and also near the main a roads On arriving, I was told that I was not booked in even though I had all the paperwork, booking references, confirmation etc. After a 4 hour journey, this is not the kind of reception I expected, and consequently there was a delay before a room could be found. This was a smoking room, and not ideal. I queried why I wasn't on the system, and there was no explanation, apart from "it hadn't been sent through" even though my booking had been done the day before. I asked for an investigation, but to date nobody has replied and upon checking out ,I was told there was no note of my request for further information in to why it had happened. Overall very inefficient. Fortunately a room was available, but the consequences if it had been full would have been disastrous.

Close to shopping. The fact an old dog chew was stood on by myself in our room. I can't believe they don't have allocated rooms for people with dogs. When we approached staff they offered a drink as compensation but didn't see what the problem was the staff were very rude and unapproachable. Upon leaving we had lots of shopping bags x3 cases to load into the car as I am currently eight and a half months pregnant I moved the car from the parking space it had been in to a disabled space near the door in order to load the car. Bearing in mind there were at least eight other empty disabled spaces not one was in use!!! The lady from the desk (Gina) said if we had a problem with the room she could soon charge us for parking in a disabled space!!!
