Express By Holiday Inn Southampton West

It provided just the basic essentials but nothing more than that but I didn't expect anything over and above this.

Very impressed

Cheap and was on a good route to the town, we were only staying one night as we were off to a cruise the next day. Bar prices were average and the breakfast filled a gap. Staff attentive.

The location was just off a building site, you would be hard pressed to walk anywhere. On entering the room we were facing the M271 which was a tad noisy even with all the vents shut in the window, the card placed on the bed had been filled out by the previous occupants and not been replaced. I went to the toilet only to find the tiles I was standing on had a brown liquid between them that stuck to my shoe soles, a bit of toilet paper and they were cleaned up but I was a bit suspicious as to what I was standing in, this made a midninght trip to the loo a bit troublesome. We went as a couple but only registered one card, when I went to the bar I was told they had run out of change and had to charge the bill to my partners card, annoying!

We are from Jersey, and find this location excellent for our onward travel for family and friends. The hotel offers all the points that we require for our needs within the price range.

The self service part is the only down side, its not big enough, it can get extremely busy at breakfast, and there is simply nowhere to put your trays when trying to get served, it's not geared up to take too many people at one time.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The toothbrush provided when my partner forgot his was particularly useful.

Overall the hotel is in a very peacefull location room clean and comfortable staff very pleasent nothing to much trouble. I would recommend this hotel to other people.

Could have a better smoking area

Excellent parking and security. Good access for disabled persons. Very clean and modern rooms. Better than expected food facilities. Easy access from motorway.

The professionalism of the staff was out standing, especially Hannah who offered excellent Customer Service. The location of the hotel was excellent.

Lack of facilities,no hot breakfast or evening meals.

The friendliness of the staff, and the extra lengths they all went to to make our stay enjoyable.

The room was very clean and for the money paid comfortable. It was a £8 cab ride from the centre of Southampton

The Location was good as we had a family party in Totton, and most of our family stayed at the hotel, so we was able to have breakfast with them and talk in the lounge the next morning.

Very clean and comfortable. Buffet breadkfast more than adequate.Staff excellent and very professional. Nothing too much trouble.

The hotel was situated out on a limb with nothing else around it. There was a lack of adequate signposting off the main road - not all taxi drivers know where it is!! No food facilities other than breakfast.
