Holiday Inn Express Royal Docks  

It's proximity to the o2 which was the reason for the stay. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast good. The only negative was the broken toilet roll holder!

The breakfast was extremely poor the price I paid to stay over, the reception was not that helpful in guiding me to the station, no fridge in the room, no wi-fi

Great Staff Particularly the lady on reception. Also the lady who served us breakfast even though it had finished she really went the extra mile

Was going to a concert at the o2 arena was ideal

The location was ideal, right near tube station, the o2 one stop away and Westfields Stratford two stops in the other direction

The vicinity is in the process of rejuvenation

The website did state the hotel was 15 mins ''walking distance from the o2 and we had to take the tube. The only thing that put a bad taste in our mouths was the beds! they were awfull the worst I have ever come across - hard - lumpy just terrible. This would prevent me from booking here again.

Unable to get a drink when we arrived. Later in the evening, the barman was also having to undertake receptionist duties. He did a superb job. The hotel let him down by asking him to do two jobs. There was a considerable queue at the bar and as a result frustrated customers

The parking was easy, it was quiet and felt safe. The italian restaurant next door was excellent. We did not bring our young daughter in the end although we booked a family room, and this was no problem.

The beds were not to our liking as they were too soft for us and the pillows were not comfortable. The cooked breakfast lacked variety and was too overcooked for our tastes.

Convenient for Excel and o2 without being on top. Good budget comfortable hotel with an excellent breakfast.

The price, comfort and cleanliness

My only complaint was that there was only 1 pillow on the beds

I enjoyed my stay at this Hotel. The staff were very friendly but not over the top. The staff helped us out with directions and kindly printed off a map for us, nothing was too much trouble we felt very comfortable there.

Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Branded cereal was good but cheap butter and awful tasting cardboard sliced brown and white bread. The orange juice did not taste like fresh orange juice more like concentrate. Coffee was not brilliant either. Did not like the look of the sausages or the scrambled egg so did not try them. I don't think it would cost a lot more to have good quality food it does make a differance. I think that lets your hotel down when everything else is of a better standard. I think the person in charge of ordering the food and drink products should taste the food and drink themselves and ask themselves wether it is worth sacrificing quality for quantity.
