The room we were given was on the ground floor, and as it was so hot we had to sleep (or try to) with the windows open all night. Unfortunately for us, there was a large noisy boiler house that was located outside, just beside the window, that kept us awake most of the night, hence not much sleep that night.
Also no hot water in the morning to have a shower as apparently the boiler was playing up, so my partner had to have a cold shower.
In all fairness the management did move us to a first floor room, after calling them; this room was much quieter and had a hot shower.
Shame we didn't have that room first, as having no sleep sort of ruined our weekend.
The assistant manager did reimburse us for our inconvenience, after some time spent with her trying to negotiate a fair settlement.
Just on another note, If you are going to employ bar tenders, make sure they have some sort of charisma and personality, as we found them really surly and quite rude.
Why, some of the bar tenders where I am from, even have a conversation with you some time.....fancy that....
Although the bar itself did look really cool, the atmosphere was really dull, and had a real cold feel about it, (must have been rubbing off to the other side of the bar)
The waiters were all really good though, in both the bar and restaurant.
The driveway up to this lovely old house was amazing. and inside it was even better.
Pool was good and not too busy.
Bed comfortable, although a bit small for a double.
Breakfast was really tasty and plentiful.
