Walsall
On 3,000 acres of beautiful countryside, in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside, this impressive Jacobean-style mansion features superb recreational facilities, including an indoor pool. On the edge of the Cotswolds, this heritage-listed manor house is a 10-minute drive from Witney. Historic Oxford and its shops and colleges are a 20-minute drive away. Eynsham Hall’s reception lounge retains many period features, including a hardwood floor and a stone fireplace. The Health and Fitness Club offers a state-of-the-art fitness studio and a sauna. Classic-style rooms are in the main house, while more modern rooms are on the scenic grounds. All rooms have a TV, free tea/coffee, free toiletries, and most also have free Wi-Fi. With log fires for the winter and a large terrace for the warmer months, the Gun Room is the Hall’s award-winning bar. It serves a varied menu, using fresh, seasonal produce. The house and grounds were simply lovely. It was quiet and the bed comfortable but best was the food! Really great! Bigger TV in the room and freeview would have been nice.

Our stay at Eynsham Hall was a very fruitful one, as it was a surprise weekend trip for my husbands birthday. We both took some great photos of the grounds, the whole setting was beautiful. The room rate was reasonable, but I wish we had stayed in the main hall. The breakfast was good, but a bit cold. The staff were nice. I would like to mention that our stay at the cottage was very noisy due to no sound proofing and you could hear the people staying above our room walking around in their room, which we found very disturbing and annoying at times. We think that the cottages need some tlc when it comes to the flooring. Also we was unable to get internet access in our room in the cottage, so we had to make our way to the main hall to get internet access, which I sound very uncomfortable as we wanted to access Skype in the comfort of our room as this whole weekend trip was for a surprise trip for my husbands birthday.

After reading the reviews, was actually dreading our 3 night stay, but all in all, found this to be unfounded. The house on arrival was fantastic, reception was very helpful, although we were not staying in the main building, but in one of the annexes' (we stayed in the lodge), and just a short walk away, with car park close by, the room was clean, big enough for our requirements with ensuite bathroom, which was sufficent for our needs, with hot water. This venue is geared up for wedding parties, but this didn't affect us in anyway, our stay was very enjoyable. Breakfast was in the main house, and was buffet style, with plenty of choices + menu for alternatives. Would definately return in the future.

The staff at the hotel were faultless, they went out of their way to make our children feel welcome and were professional and courteous throughout our stay. The main building is beautiful, amazing character, spotlessly clean and in stunning countryside. The food in the gun room bar and the breakfast was lovely. We stayed outside the main building in the lodge and booked a family suite as we had two young children and all the stuff that goes with them. The room consisted of two adjoining rooms, one with a double and one with a sofa bed and both rooms were tiny, not nearly enough space for a young family. One of the TVs didn't work properly and the room was very basic and quite tired looking which was disappointing as the main building is so grand. Even at the discounted rate we paid, I felt the room was overpriced. If everything else about the hotel hadn't been so good I would have felt a bit cheated.

The views of the countryside were lovely. The original features of the old house made it feel very welcoming, cosy and special. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived so we were given complimentary coffees while we waited. The food both in the restaurant and at breakfast was excellent. The way that the hotel chain have tried to mix modern and original features/decor. The old features are lovely, but a neon red sign above the old fire place alongside numerous other modern additions just didn't do it for us. We are only in our early thirties, but didn't feel that the different styles complimented each other. The modern aspects were too modern. Also, our room could have done with being updated a little bit, cleaning the upholstered chairs, a touch of paint, etc.

I had read alot of reviews saying that the rooms were small, but i did not let this put me off the wonderful setting of Enysham Hall. Our room was comfortable, small but comfortable, with access to both sides of the bed.Tea / Coffee and biscuits within room with TV. The Hall itself is amazing with its grandeur with excellent food served in the Restaurant. The pool is small

My husband and I had Eynsham Hall recommended to us as an ideal place to come for a weekend break and we were not disappointed. We were expecting to stay in one of the rooms outside ofthe Hall but on arrival we were allocated one of the rooms in the main building. The room was light and airy with excellent views over the back gardens. The bed was extremely comfortable and tea and coffee making facilities were available. We were disappointed that we had only stayed Saturday night and wished that we had come on Friday night. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a great choice and freshly prepared. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We would certainly recommend Eynsham Hall to others and return again ourselves.

The fire in the Gun Room should have been lit and then I would have stayed for a little longer, as it was it the room was chilly and lacked atmosphere on this cold winter night.

Eynsham Hall is a nice country seat just outside Oxford, near to Blenheim Palace - an excellent location. Certain parts have been recently refurbished with style and good taste. I stayed there already 3 times ('in the Hall') and the rooms were good (first & second time very good; last time unfortunately a bit less.) The service is good. People are polite and willing to help whenever they can. Car park is spacial; Breakfast is as it should be and kitchen is also good for English standards. I would stay there again. Some remarks; in order of importance: 1) for people getting there in the evening or at night; please be wary that Eynsham Hall is in int he Village NORTH LEIGH and NOT in the village/town Witney. This would save visitors form driving an extra 20 miles!!!! 2) The changing room at the swimming pool degrades the status of the whole. (more proper to a camping than a 3/4 star hotel) 3) WIFI is inly in the main room (downstairs) in the Hall. With a more powerful router (at little expense) people should at least have WIFI in their rooms; We're living in 2011 !!!! (PS: Formerly (about 8) years ago I have been an undercover agent to rate hotels. I hope one takes attention at my remarks.)

The building and grounds are impressive. The rooms (in the main house) are clean, adequate in size and warm. The breakfast is impossible to fault. We booked for a quiet weekend away. Don't do this. The partys at the hotel are loud and boisterous and go on till the early hours. The music was so loud that you could feel the bed move and we were on the second floor! The door to the adjacent room meant that you could hear every word they said next door. When I mentioned this at reception they apologised and asked if I enjoyed the breakfast.

An interesting building in lovely grounds. Very good staff unfailingly pleasant. It is very much a 'business' hotel and we were in a room in a separate building which, although adequate and a double, seemed more designed for one person. It was small with one chair so two people moving about was a bit awkward at times as not much room around the bed. It may have been my mistake but I thought we would be in the main building.

Fantastic main building and grounds/garden. Stylish bar and attractive restaurant for breakfast. Room in separate block not really suitable for 2 - double bed had one side against wall, and only one bedside light and table. Only ok for one night.
