Serving local produce, offering a friendly welcome, efficient service and a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere, this former 18th century inn is ideal for those seeking to explore the Cotswold region.
Score from 371 reviews Excellent
The setting and imposing nature of the driveway up to it and the main building itself , you feel like you are going somewhere special whether it be for that weekend away or for a longer break .There are excellent spa facilities with the pool , sauna and gym and acres of grounds to stroll around. It is a short drive to ring and ride for Oxford, Blenheim Palace or other areas of the Cotswolds. The buffet breakfast and other meals on offer are excellent so whats not to like .
Nothing really as rooms in the lodges that show signs of dating are being refurbed on a rolling basis it seems.
The restaurant and bar were great, also Bruno the waiter was very caring for all the guests. Very pleasant surroundings and a lot nearby to do and see.
The room had a layer of dust on every surface and there was no shelves or space in the bathroom to put any toiletries.
An amazing location, with wonderful gardens and grounds. when looking out of your bedroom and sitting in the lounge we felt like the lord and lady in their mansion. Would defenatly revisit. Real value for money
Lack of a lift
The setting. We were on a rushed overnight to a delayed flight and would have liked to stay longer. Might come back and see it properly because the grounds looked gorgeous and the hall itself was full of character.
No lift to our room but it was a last minute booking and we were happy to get one.
Was all lovely , very relaxing hotel and not at all as pretentious as it may first appear ! Great bar , funky decour , had a few beers and lovely bar snack ! Great room with fab views ! Breakfast superb ! Many thanks to all staff for making a short stay so memorable
What's not to like !
location and lovely building
Not many suitable places inside to just sit and enjoy a drink or enjoy the view. It was too cold to sit outside which would be lovely.
The locations was beautiful
The main downside was the noise - from a wedding on the Saturday night (until midnight)and from the adjoining rooms. The room - main hall - top floor was a narrow room with very small bathroom - which felt as it had been carved out of a bigger one.
This was our third visit to Eynsham Hall and this trip was as enjoyable as the previous two. We always stay in the main hall which is full of character with large and comfortable public rooms. Staff are helpful, location is beautiful and the food is good.
Did find the double bed a little small this time.
Acces to swiming pool for children only to 5.30 pm
Excellent location, the building looks very impressive from the outside . The staff were all very polite & helpful , nice restaurant , good food. A very enjoyable stay.
The Gun room bar looked good at night , however the seating was a little impractical . Our room ( 154 ) had great dual aspect views , however the room does need some updating , starting with the small shower cubicle.
Great location, room, breakfast. An interesting old building. A good value stay.
Beautiful surroundings - friendly staff. Excellent food!
Bathroom needs updating
The location and the hall are very pleasant, this is where everything runs nicely, staff nice and helpful close to bicester village, and Witney was a cute little English town/village.
If you think you are going to be staying in the hall think again, there are purpose built flats at the side of the hall which you stay in and eat in the hall. So you are always outside having to walk to the hall if you want to go into the bar or restaurant or reception. Our room smelt terrible which meant we were to keep the window open. The problem was the bathroom, mould all over the Ceiling, not a nice environment to spend time in if you just wanted to relax in your room. Broken tiles in the bathroom. Not only was I disappointed that we weren't staying in the actual hall but also disappointed the purpose built rooms were awful. We made the most of it by going out on days out from early morning to late evening.
Excellent food,great facilities
Rooms in the lodge were adequate, bed was not comfortable
The setting, exterior and interiors
no European plugs for our adaptors... Did have an English plug adaptor but would suggest having for your international guests plugs for the european adaptor for all the electronic charging needed these days for phones and I-pads...
The elegance of the hall. Large bedroom, great breakfast.
Why is this hotel only rated as 3 stars? It is most definitely worth more than that, based on our experience. Food at the evening meal was excellent and there was plenty of choice available from the menu.
Main hotel was beautiful and the staff very friendly
I stayed in the cottage and felt the room was very lackluster and hot.
The staff we're very helpful and polite. We were in a room in a lodge but it was lovely, the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. The shower was perfect. Breakfast was brilliant, good choice of continental breakfast, cereal, juice, and the english breakfast was hot and plentiful. A member of staff even bought some sugar to our room because we had run out!!
Very nice environment friendly staff brilliant foods in hotel restaurant and in bar as well. I felt myself fantastic. I strongly recommend for everyone :)
Free wifi available in the hotel but sometimes unstable and in first night doesnt worked.
Setting Hall itself. Good access to Witney and Oxford. Reception staff.
Room too small...it was a single dress as a double. Food a bit pricey. Fell on very slippery floor in leisure changing room..could not drive for 2 days.
We visited briefly as an overnight before a business meeting. The staff really were first class, they were good enough even to show us to a suitable space for my two colleagues and I to hold an early morning video conference with colleagues overseas, where we could discuss without disturbance or eavesdropping (in itself a rare thing to find in even the finest hotels). From check-in to check out it felt like all of the staff wanted to make the experience a pleasant one.
Only negative (if there is one) was that the bar closed early (we could of course arrive earlier!) As a non-drinker this did not really bother me.
The location, beautiful surrounds and unlimited parking. The grounds are great for having that late afternoon drink. The bar menu was a great alternative to the expensive dining room meal. The cooked breakfast was ample. I am sure if you payed more for a room and had one in the renovated blocks it would be more enjoyable
Booking.com bookings get the cottage which is in desperate need for an update. Noisy room as it is on the stairway, all the window fitiings are broken so the windows can't be closed, the bed was not screwed to the backboard so every time you moved it would bang on the wall. The bar has a great menu alternative to the the dining room but is small and difficult to eat at the small and low bar tables
The in-house facilities
The room itself was very small and felt enclosed in not just the the room but the building in general.people were smoking at entrance to building (ashtrays were placed here )
Had the option to use the gym and pool facilities, but unable to on this occasion due to business requirements. Stunning building with lots of character. Good breakfast.
That I did not have the time to use all the facilities.
