Had a fabulous stay at the Fairburn hotel recently. The food was excellent. Great value for money & staff couldn't have been nicer! Would thoroughly recommend
Very friendly helpful staff
Breakfast wasn't great Expensive
Room was clean and comfortable with nice decor. Staff friendly and good breakfasts.
All ok with us.
Helpful friendly staff, modern and well furnished rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast
Loved the cleanliness the staff the food the drink the room
The facilities and staff were much better than the outside first impression
The traffic noise
Lovely little pub/restaurant with a great, stylish family room. Really friendly staff and couldn't be more welcoming. And with a very early start to get to the Commonwealth Games the next morning, the kitchen had organised a continental breakfast in cute picnic boxes, all ready and waiting outside our room!
No proper air-con unit in the room, which was quite warm, but the table top fan worked well throughout the night.
Very friendly staff. Nice eating place nice clean small hotel
close to the main road noisey traffic
comfortable beds, modern large room, nice breakfast, decent price.
Our room was facing street. Huge semi trucks ran the two lane road all night, and our window was only a side-walk's distance from the traffic. Unbelievable unsettling and loud. Not a bit of sleep for the lot of us---and we are used to living next to a very busy intersection!
Modern Decor. Nice room. Very Attentive staff. Great food. Nice restaurant. Great value for money. Good centre for doing Burns Trail.
It is right on quite a busy road which had road works, but then it is well connected to the road network.
The hotel seemed to have been refurbished. Our room felt as though it had just been decorated. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful.
Would prefer parking on site but the distance to the car park was quite short.
Food good, staff friendly (especially young chap in the bar), enjoyed the walk around the town following the Burns trail, think it would be good as a base for exploring east and south Ayrshire - especially industrial archaeology/heritage and cultural themes
Decor a bit brown for my taste.
Clean, Comfortable, good breakfast
The staff were very helpful and everything done with a Smile would recommend this hotel to our friends in New Zealand
The most friendliest and courtious staff of any hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were very very nice with free chocolate's on the bedside cabinet. The en-suite bathroom complemented the bedroom with the same cleanliness and comfort. The breakfast was presented and cooked to the highest standard I have ever recieved.
Had there been Wifi available in the rooms then I would of selected "Excellent" for the Facilities tab however it only got a "Good" Everything else recieved "Excellent"
Clean and friendly Fantastic breakfast Comfortable room
Road noise was loud No wifi as stated, only in reception rooms but was very poor quility.
wifi connection only in the bar :-(
bar & restaurant were excellent, staff and atmosphere suberb
traffic noise at night from outside. it is on the main road through & lorries were rumbling through frequently
the st aff in the hotel were very helpful and made our stay at the hotel a plesant experience top marks to all at THE FAIRBURN
The staff and owners are lovely. The room (9) was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was to die for, you could have had 2 eggs, 2 bacon, fried bread, haggis, black pudding, sausage, beans, hash browns and tomato if you were hungry enough and it was all cooked fresh and brought to you, none of this buffet nonsense where all the food is cold or shrivelled. Mauchline itself is small with a couple of pubs, cafes, a butchers, a coop and not much else but it is an excellent base to then visit other parts. I would thoroughly recommend the Fairburn Hotel and just wish I had been able to stay longer. We cut ours short for personal reasons and expected we would still have to pay for the 2nd night but the owners wouldn't have it. The main meals are very reasonably priced and the steak pie had not one bit of fat on it. The Prosecco was lovely and next time I go I will try the cocktails. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
the staff were very helpful and was allowed to book in a bit earlier
we had to wait for a long time for breakfast although it was good when we got it
Excellent Hotel, great evening meal and even better Breakfast would highly recommend a stay.
excellent food, good rooms and very friendly. Central for my business needs. Would use again even if I had to travel a little further to do so
