Very good facilities. Beautiful location. Impeccable service. The guest house was extremely clean. We had a lovely break. We left something behind and they sent this back in the post to us.
Breakfast could have been slightly bigger!! But very nice anyway
The attention to detail was fantastic. The room was spotless and the toiletries supplied much nicer than the usual mini bottles you get. A lovely touch was a glass of sherry and a friendly welcome on arrival.
Nothing. The only thing for us was that the mattress was much firmer than we are used to! Our fault not theirs..
Fairfield House ranks as the best Bed and Breakfast accommodation we've stayed in. The service, decore and courtesy and thoughtfulness of the proprietors were outstanding. The location is beautiful. The house is tucked between forested hills. Higly recommended.
Very warm welcome from hosts. Very professional and well run guest house. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast with lovely view.
Personal service. Thoughtfulness. Optional sherry on arrival (we had tea). Relaxed, not hurried breakfast, chatting with other guests at our leisure. All as you'd want it to be, thank you.
A warm welcome including a sherry on arrival - hospitality box in event of forgotten items - very comfortable king-sized bed with (fluffy!) towels provided - breakfast a delight in the conservatory - very picturesque
We found the room cold on arrival - but this had been sorted when we returned from an evening meal at the Anchor Inn (recommended)
Friendly and helpful hosts, great breakfast (vegetarian catered for too). Little extras in the room (box of toiletries for anything you might have forgotten) make for a place in which you feel the hosts have gone the extra mile.
Nothing but take note of the email from Stuart saying that the sat nav isn't hugely reliable and look at his instructions.
The warmth of welcome Meticulous attention to detail shown in every way. Great design flair shown in decor and soft furnishings. Splendid breakfasts beautifully cooked. Helpfulness in loaning maps etc A pleasure to come back to after a day out doing the touristy things.
We were surprised at the requirement that all five adults in our group to choose the same meal for dinner if eating in. Our food tastes are very varied so we had no option but to go out for our evening meals. The duvets are very heavy! Parking is a little tricky.
It is the warmth and thoughtfulness of the owners that makes this a wonderful place to stay. Excellent food and beautiful location as well.
Spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast. Attention to detail, e.g. toiletries available if needed.
Small room, small double bed.
The warmest of welcomes Delicious breakfast Immaculately clean property Stylish decor Super comfy bed Walks just on your doorstep Plenty of parking Excellent value for money
Nothing - Everything was perfect
Nothing it was all fab
I was travelling alone and welcomed the homeliness of Fairfield and ease of access to Chepstow. The breakfast was great and the owners were able to give me a glass of wine when I arrived back one evening as I was driving.
Excellent location for visiting the Wye valley. The accommodation and facilities were excellent and Stuart and Martien were very helpful . Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. It was nice to have a sherry when we arrived.
The parking at the Guest House is very tight but should not put people off
I expect good, clean, simple. Fairfield Guest house was all of these and more--it was downright elegant. I felt spoiled as I sat on the deck each morning looking out over the Wye Valley eating my breakfast. Stewart and Martien make you feel as though you're an honored guest in their home.
I was made very welcome and felt very comfortable coming and going at my leisure and using the communal lounge. Breakfast was varied and lovely and - as the weather was lovely - I ate outside On the deck. This is a 5 minute drive from Tintern Abbey (a must see) where there is a lovely pub named the Anchor Inn who do wonderful meals. If I was in the area again I would definitely stay at the Fairfield Guest House.
There was nothing not to like,
A lovely warm welcome when we arrived. Some lovely personal touches in the room. A glorious morning for a delicious breakfast on the dining room balcony. Wish we could have spent a little longer there.
Good friendly couple,everything was okay.
Having Breakfast on the balcony and watching the river mist burnoff from the surrounding hills. Loction is fantastic and within easy reach of Cardiff which was our main aim for the speedway GP.
Nothing we had a wonderful weekend
Friendly and helpful owner, lots of nice touches to make it stand out from the norm. Excellent breakfast, peaceful surroundings. One of the best guest houses we have stayed at, would recommend it to others. Really enjoyed our visit.
Really friendly & great place to stay.. Breakfast on the sun terrace was beautiful.
