Room was excellent and position of dogs permitted rooms were first class, virtually had our own entrance. Staff brilliant, whole place spotless and in a nice quiet location.

    I can not fault anything.

Very nice guest house in a lovely setting. Comfortable rooms. Good included breakfast. Family owned and operated. Easy stroll into town.

WiFi was spotty in bedroom, but worked fine in common rooms.

We liked the breakfast and the garden. The room did look nice.

The bed was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was not very user-friendly. The room was very hot with not even a fan for cooling.

Very clean, good hosts, room quite small and not as advertised but happy nonetheless. Breakfast could do with some beans, very dry! Other than that happy, would recommend to others

The staff would go out of their way to be helpful. The cleanliness was first class. The hotel grounds were restful and really nice. The breakfast menu and quality were among the best. The decor was completely to my taste. The bathroom was spacious, well stocked and pristine, especially the relaxing spa bath. The shower cubicle was large and easy to move about in.

The climb up the hill to the hotel was too much for us older people. Although the room was nice and clean it was a shade on the small side.

Pleasant homely and cosy cottage feel. Good room provisions, DVD player, excellent bath accessories, tea/ coffee. Clean and tidy. Owner, Tony, is very helpful.

Walls are a bit too thin so can hear other guests. Mattress' springs can be felt so a tad uncomfortable. Shower lacks pressure.

The room was inviting and comfortable. Light and airy, it was what we were hoping for in this area. Well located for the attractions of the town of Bowness and a good bracing climb after enjoying the delightful cuisine in the village.

The shower was quite small and the water pressure was hopeless but the towels were luxurious so it wasn't all bad.

Fair location near the centre of Bowness (but a steep hill to get there).

Owner's attitude was awful. We were called the day before arrival and were requested to book in between 12 and 1pm so the owners could go out in the afternoon and spend some "quality time together". We reluctantly agreed, changed our plans, and duly arrived at 12:45 - only to be told the room wasn't ready! On stating that this wasn't satisfactory, we were regaled with tales about staff shortages and how hard a life it is running a B&B, things I really don't need to hear as a guest. We had to wait 30 minutes for room access, with only a dirty staff toilet to use meanwhile. Overall, we got the impression that the owners are fed up with running a B&B and want to retire.

The location is very good, yes it is up a steep hill but that ensures peace and quiet. The very secluded garden is beautiful although seating could do with a clean up. Breakfast was good although the advertised Manx Kipper looked and tasted like a supermarket bought one. Like the contributet below. I feel that we were downgraded to a poorer room because we booked with Booking.com. Hospitality tray was good enough but one 2 biscuit pack between two people seemed a bit mean, as did the single small bottle of water. Staff were good though and though our room was small the bathroom was good enough. Bed was comfortable enough and the room adequate for our two day stay although the limited space might have been an issue for a longer stay. Overall the garden made our stay and if the seats had been in a better condition might have made this an exceptional stay. Visitor areas are good. I would stay again however but only in a larger room with a garden view.

Small room, Manx Kipper but hey ho if that,s all then it can.t be bad.
