Beautiful situation and intimate style. Would have said it was 3+ rather than 4 star. Decor needed refreshing in places, bathroom door needed a good wipe down. Matress very firm! |

Our room was lovely, the double spa bath was perfect for relaxing in after a long, damp, walk. There were also guidebooks which you could borrow which was a nice touch. A vegetarian breakfast would have been nice - but not a real complaint, egg and toast is just fine. |

Nice sized comfortable room. There was no hot water in the morning for a decent shower - very poor. |

the hotel is well located for visiting the local attractions and is within easy reach of bars/eating areas. off street parking for guests. nice rooms / facilities there is a very steep hill which would be a difficlult to climb for elderly people. the tv in the room wasnt working therefore no radio or tv facilities. this was known by the owners but had not been rectified. cooked breakfast took 35 mins to arrive from ordering |

Clean rooms friendly helpful owners, close to town. The room was a bit on the small side, but not too much of an issue as I just slept there. The hill leading up to the hotel was very steep, but short. Also, be careful that you don't get parked in as we were due to move on from the hotel and were parked in until 6pm. The owner was very helpful and kept us up to date, but beware of this. |

In a quiet location but close to town, good spec bathroom, very good breakfast. Cramped room with nowhere to hang outside clothes (coats, rucksacks etc) other than that ok |

The warm friendly reception on arrival and the service of staff at breakfast was excellent along with well prepared food. Our penthouse room was first class although we did pay a supplement for the privelidge. Short easy walk down to the lakeside. The steep climb back to the hotel, but just taking a slow easy walk overcame that disadvantage. Would prove difficult for those who have any disability with walking. |

The room was beautifully furnished to a very high standard. The facilities within the room were superb including the delicious locally produced biscuits. we stayed in room 2 which had a fantastic jet shower big enough for 2 and a huge spa bath with lights which was lovely to share after a hard days walking. The location was great, right in the centre of Bowness, however people aren't over exaggerating the steep hill. The owners and the staff are very friendly and make you feel really welcome. The mattress on the bed was really hard and uncomfortable however the owners were more than happy to provide an extra quilt to put over it to sleep on and this helped. |

Good central location, although the short hill is steep (50m). Nice breakfast. WiFi reception was very poor, go not get a signal to stay connected. Qu |

The hotel was in a beautiful setting with a very relaxing, large garden. Very close to Bowness centre. ~very warm welcome with tea and biscuits. The room was quite small but adequate for the price and had a lovely modern bathroom, and the hotel had nice touches, toiletries, bath robes, biscuits etc, unusual for a guest house. I felt there should have been a warning that the hill to the hotel from the centre is extremely steep, though short and very unsuitable for people with walking difficulties like myself. |

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Fairfield. The room was a good size with a four-poster bed and TV/DVD player. The bathroom was a nice modern design with LED/Halogen lighting and chrome wall fittings. The staff were very friendly, and the traditional English breakfast was big enough to set us up for an active day. Totally recommended! |
