very welcoming staff, good food and comfort

not being able to sleep untill after midnight on saturday night due to noisy wedding disco party .

Checking in time is 2pm but the wedding we were attending was at 2.30. Our room was made ready for us at 12 without any fuss or hassle unlike a nearby hotel who would not let guests into their rooms until 2pm. Excellent service

Beautiful room, good facilities,quiet even though we had neighbours! Great location by sea.

Having to lug suitcase and other bags up and down stairs and through umpteen fire doors. I feel sure we could have had help if we'd asked, though.

Magic location, delightful staff, beautifully appointed room ( we greatly appreciated the upgrade). This place is an absolute treasure.

There wasn't a thing we could complain about.

stayed in room 15 the bed was not very good, sloped towards the floor on both sides. Walls thin could hear next room on the phone at midnight woke me and my wife up.

Friendly staff. Unfortunately didn't have time to fully enjoy the facilities. Already have recommended the hotel and other friends have now booked accommodation

Pretty much everything, large room, food,helpfull staff etc.

Just one gripe, I was asked if I had any requests when I booked and said I would like flowers and chocolates for my partener, this was on the confirmation booking from yourselves, but were not present when we arrived which was disappointing as it was a special occation, we did however receive a complimentery box of chocolates.

The bedroom was very warm even though the radiators were off and windows open. Friends there the same weekend had the same problem.

We liked the individuality of the room, especially the window seat, the warmth of the hospitality and the general friendliness of all staff. Lovely food

I wanted a light in the window seat so I could sit and read there after the sun went down. Sorry there was no porridge on the breakfast menu

The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and supportive. Food is good with a wide range of offer

The weather - hardly the hotel's fault!

Very friendly staff,we were upgraded to the Churchill room without asking,which was a nice touch.

Excellent location, handy for both central Ayr and for journeys south (if you are a golfer going to Turnberry). Bedrooms and particularly the bathroom extremely spacious and comfortable - bathroom had both a freestanding bath and seperate shower, which is comparitively rare to find in hotels. Spa adequate, but pool and sauna/steam rooms small and so this facility is not really at a luxury level. Did not use the small gym. Did not eat at restaurant (as it looked a bit too intimate for a one person business user). However, the menu looks good and the restaurant (in a large conservatory extension looking across to the coast) and lounge/bar area look well set out and very comfortable. Breakfast is served in another room beyond the bar i.e not in conservatory restaurant. Breakfast menu is varied and food freshly cooked - the scottish full breakfast excellent.

Faultless stay, room was fab, service was excellent and food great. Health club was very good, overall excellent - we loved it!!

Stayed in the Burns Room, comfortable bed, bit dark but nice, great view of the sea. We had Dinner, excellent food, White Chocolate Mousse unbelieveable. All courses fantastic. Service & Staff brilliant. Breakfast, again fantastic choices, we had haddock and poached egg. We will be back.

The location, breakfast and staff - also the leisure facilities although the changing facilities need upgraded.
