A warm welcome awaits you at this privately owned 4-star hotel, a fully restored and refurbished Victorian mansion house situated on Ayr's seafront, recapturing the essence of country house hospitality. Great care has been taken to preserve the unique character of this charming house, while every modern facility has been discretely installed for the comfort of today's discerning traveler, with easy access to the nearby Glasgow Prestwick Airport. The hotel offers a fully equipped health club with swimming pool, sauna and steam room, gym and in-house beauty therapist. Having arrived late at 1 am because of flight divertion to Edinborough and bus back to Ayr,we were greeted by the night porter Malcolm was absolutely wonderful, making us feel very welcome, and feeding six very hungry cold visitors. We all loved the rooms and the general atmosphere of the place. Other staff were equally brilliant. We enjoyed our stay and will be back dv... The leisure area was a1

The leisure facilities in the hotel made the booking value for money. The hotel is right on the front and if you like seaside walks then its handy for this. Some rooms back onto a noisy extractor fan which didn't bother me to much but it kept my partner awake at night.

Hotel situated in nice location to sea. Staff were all very friendly helpful & polite, nothing was a bother to them, even when working on Christmas Day. Room was nice but a bit old fashioned but was comfortable. I will hopefully be returning in March for my partner's 60th Birthday Wind was whistling round our room all night for first 2 nights was a pit of nuisance but still enjoyed our stay

Friendliness of staff, excellent attention, good food and spacious room with large en-suite (executive room). The contemporary decor blended well with the older stone-built property. Didn't make use of the leisure facilities but they looked good. Although near to Christmas and being party night on the Saturday, we were not disturbed by noise in any way.

It was worth the trip to Ayr to eat the food from the Rosette menu alone, it was outstanding quality, taste and presentation. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, attentive and keen to please and there is a nice atmosphere to the hotel. Service is efficient without being instrusive. We stayed in the Carnegie Suite with the four poster bed and jacuzzi bath. The room is was very comfortable and the jacuzzi a positive luxury. The beach is less than a two minute walk across the green. The lounge area has large windows with a sea view and comfortable seating area. The first night we ate from the Rosette menu and the food was terrific. By contrast the Martins Bar & Grill meal that we ate the following night was disappointing. The swimming pool is on the small size and an odd shape making a session of "lengths" impractical especially if there is anyone else in the pool.

First time have visited and will definately book again. Spacious and spotlessly clean room. Didnt get chance to use spa this time but it looked really good. Staff friendly and very helpful. Dinner was first class and a brilliant eating experience - locally sourced food presented in imaginative and tasty combinations. Breakfast had good selection. We were told on arrival that there was a function going on directly under our room however it woiuld finish at 12. We were not kept awake and we werent disturbed by any noise at all. No view from room but could not fault the room apart from that. Would be nice to have traditional scottish porridge for breakfast option.
