Fairway Hotel  

We are a couple in our early 40s and got a good deal at the last minute on Booking.com for 2 nights at the weekend. Lovely, clean, modern room & en-suite. Great English cooked breakfast. Located slightly off the beaten track in a quiet location nestled amongst fields, but within easy reach of the main road into Ulverston, Barrow and Dalton. Would definitely stop again and recommend it to everyone.

We were going to try the driving range, but the literature gave the impression that it was only open during the summer months and we never saw anyone on it! As it was Bank Holiday Monday when we checked out we would have liked a slightly later breakfast until 10am or later rather than 9am.

Staff are very friendly an this a great hotel would recommend this to anyone, food is brilliant asked the staff to recommend any restaurants an they did and it was lovely!! Will be staying here again!

Food was good and reasonably priced

Rooms finish to a poor standard, missing light bulbs , headboard falling away from bed So impossible to sit up and read in bed, plastering around windows unfinished, silicone missing around shower base

This family run hotel is the perfect place to stay .the staff could not be more pleasant and helpful . The rooms are large , spacious and very clean and to top it all the food is excellent ( well done to the chef and kitchen staff )

The food was of top quality,the staff were accomodating,friendly but professional.we would recomend the hotel and look forwards to staying with you again.

Plenty of room in the room. Nice comfortable room.

Receptionist was very dour. Cold water from bathroom tap was warm.

Almost everything. The first impression was of an up market establishment. Behind that was a well run clean, friendly, welcoming hotel

I had difficulty finding it and others had difficulty finding their way back to the main road.

Second stay for me and staff were, as before, friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was very good even though there was a bit of a wait to be served.

Aside from the delay in serving food - there is nothing to dislike about The Fairway. What I would say is that as your food seems to be cooked fresh to order and will obviously take time, then just tell your clients that and then your staff will not have to keep apologising for the wait.

Large clean room, good breakfast. Driving range. Good location for South Lakes Wild Animal Park which was the reason for our visit.

The kettle in our room had a strange smell of BO when it was used which was unpleasant. Room 17.

Nice friendly staff and good food

Parking was free and just outside reception.Check-in was painless and friendly. Room was large and clean if a bit hot; but hey! I can turn a radiator down. Bathroom was large, clean and hot (I like bathrooms hot!) Breakfast was huge and freshly cooked. Check-out equally painless Good stay.

Could be a little difficult to find; don't take direct route as it's a Private Road

The quiet

Poor choice of room service meal. Hard bed. Lack of pillows. Too few TV channels.

The staff were excellent and very helpful. The food was of a good standard bith in the evening and at breakfast. The room was of a good size, clean and very quiet. Although it was obvious that there was a large amount of improvement work being carried out, this did not impact upon my stay at all. Thoroughly recommend the hotel.

As stated aside from the imporvement works - there was nothing about this hotel that you could dislike.

The Food was Great and the Level of Service was just as good.

Noise from the next rooms ie could here the sink and shower system from our room.

Stayed at the fairway as my mum was having a family get together for her 70th Birthday / ruby wedding anniversary, at the hotel, which is local to her. Myself and my partner stayed for two nights. On the first night it was rather unusual as we were the only guests staying overnight, although there was an office party in the restaurant/disco. The staff could not have been friendlier and on the night of my mum's party even joined us in a family dance at the end of a great evening. We had dinner in the restaurant on Friday, this was excellent,although the set party menu meal on Saturday was disappointing in comparison. Breakfast both mornings was cooked to order, and excellent. We would have no hesitation in staying at The Fairway, when visiting family, again. Also a big Thankyou to everyone who made my mum's evening so special for her, and the rest of the family. Nice hotel spoiled by attention to detail. I.E.no drinking glass in ythe bathroom on second day no hand towel left, no lock on the bathroom door

Rooms are very spacious + decor is up to date + modern. Staff were friendly + very helpful. Would stay here again.

Location is more remote than website suggests

We liked the quiet location,the staff were friendly.The room was very clean and spacious.The bar area was really nice to relax and have a drink.The restaurant was good ,food was really good.We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Good location to visit the lake district.

Lovely and clean, great room and the staff were so friendly. Evening meal was excellent.
