Liked the hotel, staff were very friendly and were well used to customer care. We would certainly stay again.
It's a wee bit out the way and we were on our own but the staff made the stay memorable
The staff here are fabulous!! They cannot do enough for you. We were one of only two guests in the hotel and we didn't see the others. Still the staff gave a 100%. I have to say it was unusually quiet due do adverse weather conditions and not the hotel.
Hotel booking was arranged at very short notice late at night and we did not arrive until midnight- this proved no problem to the staff who were very helpful and had two family rooms all ready when we arrived. Very clean, very comfortable could not fault the hotel at all- would recommend
Lovely stay had 2 small children and room was lovely plenty space for them, only draw back was the food, we went to restaurant on night and was told the chef was on holiday and some stuff on the menu wasn't available but overall very nice
Difficult to get reception as one staff member had many roles.
Quite location very good food and staff.
The way we were greeted, the warm friendly staff, room was very comfortable beds were superb, the way we were treated was exceptional, breakfast was exactly what we asked for ,nothing was too much trouble, checking in and out was very professional and kind, nothing to gripe over.10/10
We stayed at the Fairway hotel for 1 night with our 16 month old daughter. She got really poorly and unfortunately had a spell of sickness which happened to be over the bed as we were comforting her! Staff were brilliant; understanding and brought us clean sheet's immediately. We felt terrible about the situation but they made us feel at ease re-assuring us that these things happen making us feel better in this stressful situation. Great room and excellent food - again they accommodated us for an evening meal even though they were hosting a large family get together.
Lovely room, friendly and helpful staff and excellent food..
Some of the staff a little indifferent Poor choice on the Evening meal Menu Large group booked into the restaurant on the Saturday evening were given preferential treatment over paying guests.
Superior room was excellent
Post code wrong on their web site
Room a good size. Hotel pleasant overall
Really enjoyed our stay and the good was great
This was a true family friendly hotel. On arrival they had already put a bed rail on the single bed for my little girl. The room was vlean and really spacious. The bed was so comfortable and had no problem getting extra pillows as I like a lot and use them to block the end if the bed to stop daughter wriggling down. Breakfast was good, we had a meal in the restaurant one night had the fish and chips which was amazing all completely home made you won't find any ready made meals here even the mushy peas where incredible. Also have to recommend the donuts for desert is worth telling the waitress when you order your meal you want them as they are completely freshly made so gives the chefs a bit if time to prepare them but to be honest I like a breather in between courses. Had a party at the hotel the other night we stayed which was in a beautiful purpose built function room the good again was fantastic. The hotel is not in the main town and you will need a car but you can take a nice walk down to the beach and explore the sand dunes just ask the staff for directions as you might not realise its 20 min walk to the beach. We enjoyed just sitting and relaxing in the hotel bar away from the chaos of town centres
Pillows & quite noisy!
Staff & food
En-suite was bit tired and smelled a bit stale. The wc handle needed fixing, it did not work every time and sometimes needed several attempts to get the wc to flush. The dressing table/drawers has a gap at the rear. My wife's bag tipped over and one of her cosmetics disappeared down the bag. This was rectified quickly by the staff; they are not unfamiliar with the problem.
Lovely location, very quiet. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. Staff were excellent and quickly rectified the issue we had(see What we didn't like). The shower was excellent. Breakfast menu had plenty choice. The cooked breakfast choice was very good and freshly cooked.
Service in the restaurant at breakfast was poor - it was almost impossible to attract staff for coffee refill and to supply my table with milk.
It was convenient for the wedding we attended and the food was excellent (breakfast x 2, dinner once)
Very friendly staff, always available to assist during our 2nd visit to the hotel (which is why we returned).we will definitely return and recommend
I loved the location of the hotel.. Whilst saying there we visited south lake animal park which was around a 15 min drive away... I also visited Roan Head beach and that was just a 5 min drive away (well worth a visist)
Bathroom very dated - no shower. Dining room also rather old fashioned.
Staff were friendly and efficient
Dust could be seen between carpet edge & walls. Shower units have mold in & extractor fan not working. Throw overs were marked/stained.
Large rooms & good breakfast
Restaurant was a bit hit & miss
Good sized room with ample desk space for working
The breakfast was fine but the evening meals were of a very poor quality and no steak one night - no cheese another !. My colleague had a Chilli con Carne which was disgusting. I had an asparagus starter which had two sliced strands of asparagus and it was more pea starter. The girl behind the bar and young girls are very cheerful which makes up for a very miserable older lady serving in the restaurant. This is meant as helpful comments in order to improve the service to guests.
Very convenient location and good food. Try and use this hotel whenever we stay in the area
There was nobody to greet us on arrival, we had to hunt around the hotel to find a member of staff! As we were the only guests at the hotel one can only wonder what the staff were actually doing. My husband eventually found a young girl in the hotel's kitchen eating a kfc! Eventually, after we forced her to abandon the kfc she came to give us a key. No introductions, no apologies and no instructions on how to find our room somewhere in the deserted building! After finding our room and relieving ourselves of luggage we decided to go to the bar. Once again a ghost town, no staff in sight! Another staff hunt for us! Very unprofessional for a first time but to happen again was diabolical. The room we were given was not secure as the window was on ground level giving anyone easy access to our possessions. As it was hot that day we would have liked the window open for fresh air but were forced to remain stuffy in fear of theft. The final straw was finding a dirty blood stain on our white bedding! We were distraught. The member of staff we informed was rude, unapologetic and completely nonchalant to our distress. We now know why we were the only 2 guests on such a beautiful sunny weekend. Avoid! Completely ruined our hard earned weekend away. We booked 2 nights and only stayed for one. It was that bad we left the next morning like a bat out of hell! Avoid!
Only the surrounding area. The hotel, although looks nice in appearance, is horrible!
Food Comfort of the beds Large room Quiet location
Arrived around 9.30 pm, after a 4 1/2 hour drive, nothing available to eat at this time, or close by.
Friendly staff, made welcome.
Location a little remote
Cleanliness and good food
