We looked around the harbour and went on a boat trip of the harm=bour and sandbanks which was very interesting. We were due to go the the speedway but this was cancelled due to the weather which was disappointing but the speedway was really easy to find and there looked like there would be ample parking. We also spent time in Bournemouth. We ate at the Quay café where we had breakfast it was fab

Lovely resort, lots to see and do. Harbour boat trip was well worth it as was to Jurassic Coast cruise. Lots of varied mealtime opportunities as well as the usual fish and chips. Plenty of traditional pubs on offer. I highly recommend a visit to the RNLI college and All Weather Lifeboat Centre where all the lifeboats are made, you can even stay there.

Excellent location for either staying within the area or travelling to interesting places within Dorset. Great local facilities within a short walk for dining, recreation and shopping. Would recommend El Rancho and Da Vinci for food and perhaps the Poole Arms for a quiet, friendly drink. The Jurassic Coast boat trip is one not to be missed with its visit round Old Harry Rocks to Swanage. Buses provide a great service but there are plenty of parking areas available. A day trip to Kingston Lacey (National Trust) was exceptional.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't our friend so we didn't see much of Poole. We did drive 15 mins to Durley Chine where we parked for walk into Bournemouth. We also took a trip to Hengisbury Head (25 min drive).

Poole is a vibrant busy Marina town.

Poole is a vibrant busy Marina town. The High Street has an interesting variety of shops (including the flagship Lush store). The streets are lean, and felt safe. Parking is well signposted but not cheap. If you have time then make an advance booking for the Harbour, Sandbanks, and Islands Cruise. We’ve done it twice and the commentary is excellent. Entertaining and informative. We strongly recommend the fish and chip shop by the Lifeboat Station. Huge legions of really fresh succulent fish, lovely crisp batter, and a generous portion of chips. There is blue-badge disabled parking directly opposite the Poole Quay Hotel and near the High Street. The town is flat and easy to get around for anyone with limited mobility. We loved Poole and are already planning our next trip in a month. We have no intention of paying £30/night extra to bring our two pampered house cats. For £90 extra for three nights we need to see we are getting something extra - not a standard cold room.

The Town itself has died with many shops either closed or have become Charity Shops. Far too many Flats being built and being overrun by 'Outsiders' (Not Tourists). We will not return but stay to the West of Poole in the Purbecks and beyond far more tranquil.

Swift and detailed communication with the host (thanks Jeff!). The caravan was clean and functional. Nice resort, we could enjoy beautiful sunsets on the seaside in just 10minutes walk. The caravan was close to the restaurants and the entretainment area within the resort. Good base to visit part of the Jurassic coast and many natural beauty spots like Durdle door, Lulworth cove, old Harry rocks, Brownsea island, Poole harbour, Swanage, Corfe Castle and more. It was a nice break after the long lock down :)

Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Our room and the hotel in general was very clean and decor well maintained and comfortably and tastefully furnished. The restaurant was excellent without being pretentious. Breakfast, included in our price, was good with excellent Covid precautions in place. The location at Poole Harbour entrance could hardly be better, offering wonderful views. This is a no-fuss hotel that provides everything it says on the tin. Good value for a 4-star hotel.

Breakfast was OK . Wanted late check out as a Diamond member-it was refused. Hotel info on TV showed Dinner was available 6.00 to 9.00. When I asked about this I was told it was only Weekdays which was very irritating. Local attraction info on the TV related to Cardiff not Poole ! Very disappointing.

A pleasant spacious apartment which was very convenient for exploring the surrounding area. A comfortable walk to the beach and with buses to Bournemouth, Poole and Swanage nearby meant we had no need to use the car whilst we were at the property. A thoroughly enjoyable stay at Fair winds.
