Lounge Dining room Breakfast was very good Staff at breakfast were excellent The grounds Location Rather officious reception person on our arrival who was insisted on us going to the patio for a compelementary glass of bubbly. That was a nice touch but what we actually wanted to do is go to our room and dump our bags and get chenged. Could be more flexible and have allowed us either to go to the room first and then have the bubbly or miss it altogether. Room was shabby and extremely noisy as the kitchens were below. There was a residents dog barking part of the night. It was hot so we opened the window overnight but a noisy fan in teh kitchen was left on all night. Overall a very nice hotel same about the bedroom and noise.

Location and nature, beautiful gardens, friendly staff, pretty room. The shower was the worse shower ever, I can understand it is an old building and plumbing problems etc but that doesn't help when you can barely wash your hair under the trickle of water. Also the pillows were pathetic.

Delightful surroundings, helpful and friendly reception staff who went beyond the call of duty to take one of us to and from an appointment because of lack of cabs. Dining room service rather slow - especially in the mornings. Staff needed too have it drawn to their attention when items on the buffet ran out and were slow to respond. Dinner quality was consistently excellent, but portion sizes were just 'un petit trop nouvelle cuisine'. No danger of putting on weight!

the welcome and friendliness of the staff was excellent.they were always helpful too. the hotel has wonderful views within a peaceful setting.the rooms were presented well and all facilities provided.they were comfortable and spacious.the food was well cooked and tasty and restaurant were professional. the hotel has an excellent attitude towards dogs who are welcomed instead of tolerated if allowed at all. i would thoroughly recommend this hotel and i am returning soon.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted in a thoroughly professional and welcoming way. Throughout our stay the staff were helpful and friendly, going out of their way to provide support. Our room was charming, with a blanket, bowl and treats for our dog waiting for us. The gourmet dinner was outstanding, most of us were spoilt for choice and enjoyed all the different courses. The menu combined interesting but not over the top flavours and high quality ingredients and was an excellent showcase for local welsh food. The setting was perfect, both for walks in the grounds and for the views - and all of us had also enjoyed the different scenic drives to get to the hotel from various parts of the country. The hotel still has a slight sense of faded grandeur and some shabby parts, and the 2' 6" wide single beds presented a bit of a challenge to avoid rolling off while reaching for the alarm clock!

Pleasant staff and surroundings Room dated and tired but clean. Food ok but not to the standard of this "high class" hotel and also over priced for a starter size main meal !!!!!!!
