This family-run town centre hotel was originally built in 1842 and has many historical features. Rooms are all of a high quality with en suite bathrooms and flat-screen TVs.
Score from 259 reviews Very good
The owners were delightful, especially the wife who has a lovely sense of humour and great fun. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds in which I have slept. I would not hesitate to book there again when next in the area
This historical quirky hotel is made truly unique by the owners personalities and brilliant sense of humour. The rooms are cosy and comfortable and the food is excellent.
An old building full of character/s - the owners are real gems, their wonderful dry sense of humour would be wasted on the Americans. It does everything it says on the tin - what more could you ask for.
The couple who run the hotel are very funny in a Cybil and Basil Fawlty way and very attentive. Tasty breakfast, lovely toast. Lovely bedroom in the roof, very spacious considering it has a double and two singles.
Certainly a 'character' hotel and a million miles away from the identikit Travel Lodges of this world. The manager and his wife seemed to have walked out of a Charles Dickens novel.
The manager and her husband went out of their way to accommodate us and allowed us to use 2 beautiful bedrooms in their own annex to the hotel.
Turning up to find that the hotel was full and they had no knowledge of my booking.com reservation! I was able to provide paper evidence but this was extremely frustrating for all parties concerned and not an experience I would wish to repeat!
Venue / eccentric owner / food
This is a cosy hotel full of charming atmosphere. The breakfasts are wonderful, the beds are very comfortable and the hosts are friendly. There was ample free parking at the rear of the hotel.
The old, historic building and the location, the breakfast was good.
Some of the comments the staff / owners? made were unnecessarily sharp or sarcastic!
Everything relaxing first class would go again
Very good value for money. Lovely location, Bromyard and surrounding countryside is beautiful. Sylvia her husband and staff are very friendly. The building it's self is full of character. Planning on going back very soon. Large portions of very good food are served, make sure you have a good apatite .
staff helpful, friendly, food and service excellent, hotel clean and comfortable.Looking forward to my next visit.
This is the best place to eat and to stay in Bromyard. Very friendly and welcoming, a wonderful old building and bang in the middle of the town.
Old world charm in an historic setting. Completely different to usual modern hotels. Excellent breakfast included
Abrupt manner of reception. Kettle black inside - grudgingly exchanged
We were a little sceptical about staying here after reading the reviews, but the location was good and met our needs. The room was good and very clean and had all the usual facilities to make our stay comfortable, even if there was an interesting slope leading from the bed to the bathroom, but only what you expect to find in a lovely old building. We had a three night stay and the breakfast each morning was cooked to order and very good, we also stayed to dinner one night and can highly recommend the roast beef which was cooked well with plenty of beef and a huge Yorkshire pud and well cooked veg. The desserts too were excellent. We were intrigued to meet the owners and if you except them for who they are, a little eccentric maybe then they fine and we got on well with them. Would definitely return if we go back to that part of England.
Central location. Old world charm. Yes I thought the sloping floors added to the character of the place.
The lady owner gave the impression that guests were an inconvenience that disturbed her quiet life.
amazing building, friendly staff, very good food.
Central to town. Good breakfast. Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Key to come and for as we pleased.
Could bring family, who we were visiting, back for a drink.
Very interesting old building, in a nice small town. Excellent large clean room of character and excellent bathroom. Good breakfast. Help with local information. Interesting restaurant menu. Very good car park. Family run.
Breakfast finishing at 9.30 on Sunday morning!! Slightly musty pervasive smell, probably simply from not having windows opened regularly. If we had had had more luggage and been less able the ascent up to our room carrying luggage would have been difficult.
Stated WiFi in first floor rooms. No WiFi
Very nice staff The food was excellent and very very good value
No bathroom towels
The historical interest of the premises, the excellent breakfast and good dinner.
The haphazard approach to the running of the Hotel. The large number of cats roaming around. The lack of comfort in the room and bed generally.
Stayed at the Falcon before. John and Sylvia helpful as ever, superb breakfast and everywhere spotlessly clean! What else is there to say--
