The hotel owners try to blaming bookings.com for not having rooms for us all, which clearerly it was the owners fault. Booked 3 doubles for single occupancy on one booking and one double for single occupancy on a separate booking, all en-suite. their web site also confirms all rooms are en-suite. One room was never booked and one of us automatically allocated 'the annex', which had two rooms and a shared bathroom. Annex to me means place with Separate entrance, maybe a converted basement, garage or barn; but no this annex was two bedrooms in the owners house with no keys to lock the doors, no TV or en-suite. The lady owner is hysterical, you have to laugh because it is just so funny that someone like her runs a hotel! Rude, obnoxious, curt, blaming everyone but her self for the lack of booked rooms and being stuck in their house. Quite an unpleasantly ugly personality. We paid half what she expected for the non en-suite rooms, which she accepted, in hindsight we should have paid nothing, it was not what we booked and certainly was not what expected.
Breakfast was lovely, don't divert from anything other than a fried egg, otherwise you get a bit of a mouthful from the lady owner, I ordered two poached eggs just to annoy her even more!!! Then my friend did too, laughed about it all the way home!! Location was in centre of town with good parking. The building is quite beautiful and very historic, meaning the hotel rooms and quirky and interesting.
