Everything, the decoration is discusting the rooms are horrible not clean cheap furniture, not a 4 star hotel, stay well away, small door ways, curtains that should be in a museum. tea and coffee in a icea cream box!
Warm and friendly staff who were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with Excellent breakfast.
Hotel fixtures and fittings are tired and in need of the forthcoming update. The pricing may be appropriate after the revamp but was a little on the high side for the current condition.
The size of the room and the location.
No Restaurant. No Bar. On a sunny Sunday afternoon staff wouldn't even get us some tea outside. Room windows painted over and wouldn't open.No Hotel information in room. Water pressure low. Bath took 20 mins to fill. Service and facilities barely B&B standard. Description as a hotel is entirely false.
Very quiet, no smoking, clean, stylish building. Mattress is fine unless you are very overweight.
only 1 comfy chair
Lovely old house Location - walk into Settle Lovely large bedroom Excellent bed and breakfast Garden and views Ample easy car parking
Lovely building and location.
Bar closed at 8pm ordered flowers and champagne on arrival due to landmark birthday but they forgot to get them. no restaurant in evening. Just like a B&B but more expensive. Shower in room was hopeless Television was hopeless also. Furniture was cheap and cheerful which took the Grandeur off the place.
Easy to find, big carpark.
No bar or restaurant open on Saturday evening despite being advertised with both. No wifi, again despite it being advertised. Breakfast poor. Bathroom had obviously not been cleaned. Decor poor. Very expensive considering what was provided.
Breakfast very good; quiet; convenient location for Settle town.
Bed was small; bathroom was in need of renovation; tv miniscule.
the buidling, the stair case the grounds.
the room was of date date.the furniture was mis matched, the bathroom room taps were missing the hot and cold tops, one of the bathtaps was from a different bath, cracked and badly repaired tile around the bath.the deco was dated.there was damp at the top of the stairs and peeling plaster.it seemed it was falling into disrepair and need some tlc and money spending on it.
Bar closing at 8pm on a Friday night
good quality breakfast- good location for train travellers
run down facilities - lack of water pressure in shower - generally tired appearance- wifi did not connect in room
The room was very dated although large and clean
The location was great and the full English breakfast was lovely. Our room had a beautiful view and was really quiet.
The hotel was tired and in need of a 'makeover'. The room was small and felt a little cramped.
Breakfast was excellent. Service was prompt and very efficient. The building is great too, and located less than half a mile from the town centre.
Perhaps a little bit pricey.
The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. The property has amazing views.
waiting staff setting - beautiful
room - very dated and in need of tlc call beforehand to ask where i was - as owner wanted to finish and have his tea!
Manager very helpful and engaging which mitigated the hotel's failings. Hotel has huge potential but needs complete overhaul to justify the tariffs charged.
Poor standard of cleanliness in our bedroom and bathroom and very outdated facilities. In our opinion we paid 4 star prices for 2 star accommodation.
great location, good room characterful building like stepping back in time.
Poor pre cooked reheated breakfast dry and unappetising. The Hotel is desparately in need of money being spent on it. Package does not warrant the excessive price paid for what is basically nothing more than an oversized B & B.
easy to walk to Settle Victoria Hall from the Hotel and that's about the only positive I'm afraid
Not up to standard for the money charged. Sheets and Blankets are not what customers want nowadays. Bathroom smelt of damp, could have been to do with carpets in a bathroom!! Bath and sink were cracked. All windows in the room and bathroom were painted shut.Whilst appreciating it is a beautiful old building it could be absolutely magnificent with some renovation. No way was this hotel value for money.
Friendly staff. Good food and service in resteraunt.
Small room round the back was very basic, draughty & desperately in need of updating. Cheap & nasty furmiture & fittongs. No atmosphere in resteraunt & bar areas. Very disapointed with value for money. Other places available for less money.
The owners .... nothing was too much for them to make sure we had a very comfortable stay
The character of the hotel...and the splendid views
Location I needed to leave early in the morning to catch a train and was pleased a continental breakfast was left out for me..
I overlooked the fact that there was a cancellation fee when I made the booking - I assumed as with most bookings .com that this would only apply if I cancelled less than 3 days or so before the actual booking.I Was able to change the booking but the whole incident caused me a lot of stress.
The buildings from the outside The area is nice not the hotel though
Poor deco needs updating Poor ignorent staff member Poor food and drink Just not a nice experience for £100 had better at less of a cost.
The hotel and staff were very acceptable
The chef had phoned in sick on the morning of our depature, so we could not have a full breakfast, the receptionist managed to do scrambled egg for us.
Evening meal, good value for money. Unusual pool table, hexagon shape with movable top for easy access to balls. Spacious room with plenty of storage. Nice walk into Settle town centre. Lovely open double stairway, very elegant
Could not get hot water from the shower Dated decor in bedroom
