Location and car park. Good selection of of food for buffet breakfast.
Wi fi only in bar area
Great value for money, good location right in the centre, breakfast included and tea making facilities in the room. Clean.
The hotel was a little tired and dated, but this didn't bother us and added to the charm! The shower wasn't the best.
The view, the position, near to the front, the shops and the transport. The staff were all very helpful.
The noise of the toilet flush, and the elephant that had the room over ours, I presume it was an elephant as it sounded like they were coming through the ceiling.
The location of the hotel. The interior of the hotel is very well maintained without losing some of the original features. I love the dining room!
The weather! Couldn't complain about anything in the hotel.
The cost The room Friendliness and co-operation of staff Good size bathroom clean, quality towels
Outside not much to look at A lot of stairs to climb to rooms at the top.
The view was spectacular.
No wifi in the bedroom
On holiday we expect clean comfy accommodation, good food and friendly staff, in a nice location. All these were met at Falcons Nest. We felt at home right from the friendly Irish welcome from lovely receptionist Caroline. Sam and all the staff were a credit to Mr Potts the owner who we also enjoyed meeting. Thanks to you all. We will definitely meet again. God Bless
Some might say décor is a bit tired but we loved the Victorian ambiance. Lack of lift not a problem for us.
We had a great time in Port Erin. The hotel has an old fashioned charm, staff are very helpful, fabulous views of the bay and an excellent breakfast too. Do not be put off by the external appearance, it is much better inside than you might expect it to be.
Thin walls meant that we heard the guests in the room next door at 2.20am.
Clean and very friendly
The Hotel is very well located with easy links to all locations on the Island. The beach is a 30 second walk away and the Steam Train station is 2 minutes. The breakfast is excellent: particularly the Manx kippers I had every day. We were initially located in a room above the bar area, which was a little noisy late at night. The staff very quickly and easily offered to move us to a room further away and quieter. This resolved the minor issue and was very much appreciated. We cannot recommend this Hotel highly enough, particularly with regard to the value for money and location. A superb stay.
We have no negative comments, it was an excellent stay.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were well decorated and very clean. The food was of a high standard without being "fancy" which we prefer. The hotel is located in a lovely location with wonderful views of the bay from the dining area. Port Erin is a picturesque village with good facilities and excellent walks both inland and along the coastline.
Very good value for money - and has a good restaurant too
The hotel is in a perfect position for the exellent clean beach[this is one of the best beaches I have seen]the hotel was spotlessly clean.the staff were very helpfull if you needed something answered.the meals were very good, freshly cooked and good size portions.the bar stocked a lots of local beers and branded ones.the restuarentin the conservatory has stunning views of the beach and bradda glen.we would stay again.we stayed on the 15thSEPTEMBER 2014 for 6 nights.
We were given room number 7.we didnot realise this was over the public/hotel bar.at around 9.30 music was turned on from below in the bar,it was a deep bass sound and very loud[thump thump thump] it went on untill aroun 12 oclock.we mentioned it the next morning at reception but the young girl said there was no music in the hotelthis was our only complaint.as stated I would stay here again but not in room 6 or 7..
Good breakfast and good location
Needs freshening up
first floor room overlooking bay, generous size, comfortable bed, spacious, decent ensuite, breakfast excellent
Staff very helpfull and the breakfast was great. Deal booking on line very good. Other wise a little bit over price. Would stay again if there was a deal.
Only stayed one night and it was fine.
Breakfast was good and plentiful, and the evening meal we had was excellent. The sea view was marvellous. A quiet location. Good to have free wifi and parking.
Our bath was only half size which was uncomfortable for a six foot male! There was a continuous drone all night which I assumed was the extractor fan from an adjacent bedroom. We had to find someone to check us in as the desk was not staffed when we arrived. The room was very warm even with the radiator off, and only one small window would open.
Excellent Food, Very Clean, Stafffriendly
Very expensive drinks at the Bar
Very comfortable. Polite and courteous staff. Very good evening meals (portions may be a bit on the large size) and excellent chioce at breakfast.
Lovely location on the bay at Port Erin with a really nice conservatory overlooking the sea. Very helpful and friendly staff who provided a high standard of daily service. We enjoyed good breakfasts which set us up well for the day. It is a Victorian building, updated sometime in the 70's(?) so the facilities are not modern - it has a 'faded glory' feel about it which we found appealing!
There was a very noisy Disco on the Saturday night which went on too long.
Location excellent, maidservice excellent and reception very helpful and efficient. Room was comfortable. In the main, the catering service was good. (See dislikes). Good value for money for this level of accommodation.
Around the catering staff there was an absence of obvious management or leadership on site. Some, not all, younger members of staff, as is typical of the agegroup, tho attentive when called upon, could often be observed hanging around, openly discussing their discontent with their job (secondary reporting) and would frequently drift off to chat with oneanother, leaving bar, for example, unmanned, with customers waiting. Someone needs to take control at site level to improve this behavioural problem, unacceptable in any catering or public service, for the sake of the clients and hotel.
Location is brill !
Loud bar music !
Some staff had a fondness for mobile phones
Staff were great! Hotel in general was great. I felt the hotel needs a little love on the exterior but I could see this would cost a lot of money to do. Overall I thought it was a great place in a great position. There's nothing I didn't like overall.
I stayed at Falcons nest for a weekend whilst working on the Island, the staff were friendly and very helpful, we had an early start two morning and a continental breakfast was delivered to our room the evening before with milk, fruit juice etc in iced water. The food in the restaurant was excellent, home cooked and a good price. A plus for me was the selection of good real ales. All in all it made a very busy weekend working away from home very enjoyable Thank You
