Excellent Food, Very Clean, Stafffriendly
Very expensive drinks at the Bar
Very comfortable. Polite and courteous staff. Very good evening meals (portions may be a bit on the large size) and excellent chioce at breakfast.
Location is brill !
Loud bar music !
Some staff had a fondness for mobile phones
Staff were great! Hotel in general was great. I felt the hotel needs a little love on the exterior but I could see this would cost a lot of money to do. Overall I thought it was a great place in a great position. There's nothing I didn't like overall.
I stayed at Falcons nest for a weekend whilst working on the Island, the staff were friendly and very helpful, we had an early start two morning and a continental breakfast was delivered to our room the evening before with milk, fruit juice etc in iced water. The food in the restaurant was excellent, home cooked and a good price. A plus for me was the selection of good real ales. All in all it made a very busy weekend working away from home very enjoyable Thank You
Couldn't beat it for value for money. Food excellent, spotlessly clean, friendly staff.
Nothing to dislike really. The building is a little tired but this is reflected in its 2 star rating.
Good location, good evening meals, first rate breakfasts, excellent views from our comfortable room. All the staff were great as was the Theakstones mild in the friendly bar. The whole of the island is easily accessible from the most pleasant Port Erin location, we thoroughly enjoyed this our first visit to the IOM, where the old fashion values of friendliness, courtesy and good service seems to have survived throughout the island.
Room, Breakfast, kindness of staff to partially disabled guest. As the former owner of a travel company, and a travel journalist, I have been to innumerable hotels around the world. This is one of the very best.
Offers value for money with reasonably comfortable rooms and excellent food and employs helpful and friendly staff. It would be churlish to criticise the lack of lift service or somewhat dated fixtures and fittings as this is a high maintenance hotel which must cost a fortune to keep going and compared to other aging hotels the owners make a good job of keeping it to a good standard. Parking is a nice bonus.
There is nothing to really dislike but I did observe at breakfast that staff spent to much time talking rather than keeping up to speed clearing used plates etc. from tables or coming round with the coffee pot Nevertheless breakfast is superb!
location beer good breakfast
needs an update all round.
Location next to beach and local facilities, breakfast all you could wish for, cleanliness of room and hotel itself a credit. Best of all dogs are welcome.
Bed very hard and uncomfortable. Food in evening needs improving very disappointed with tough steak and lack lustre soup but at least other restaurants where available in the village. Hotel needs painting on the outside.
Enjoyed my stay there
position staff helpfulness/friendliness excellent bar amazing choice for breakfast real ale
it doesn't have a lift, it was 48 stairs to my room!!!
Good choice of food, and good value Close to airport
Low pressure shower
lovely hotel, town nice .staff very good..good brakefast. will return.
no lift, bar a bit gruby.
We were surprised by just how good this little hotel was. Very helpful and friendly staff and a delightful breakfast room. Loved the books in various impromptu places around the corridors.
Didn't like local radio and adverts playing over breakfast and destroying the ambience of the room. Classical music in that room would have set it off much better. Or if that is not palatable - nothing at all!
In spite of warning them that we would arrive late, there was no one to book us in and we had to find alternate accommodation on the first night. Another guest had to sleep in his car.
Nice room with a good view
Obviously looking tired in the main rooms and reception only open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Bedroom was clean. Breakfast and staff at breakfast were lovely. Most other staff were friendly and helpful.
We asked for a sea view when booking but were allocated the infamous small bedroom overlooking the derelict building site infested by pigeons. The room was changed to a much better larger one, with a side sea view but this was accessed by a mouldy corridor with peeling wallpaper. You do need to book an evening meal if you want to eat in the restaurant. We were told by a member of staff in the morning it wouldn't be necessary (as we did not know what time we would be returning). When we returned the restaurant was full and we were told in no uncertain terms by the young lady at the entrance that we should have booked.
Excellent breakfasts and attentive waitresses. Quality of food very good especially the wonderful ham for dinner.
No handrail in bath. Very dangerous. Some cracked tiles on bathroom floor.
Views along the seafront
Late night noise from bar and areas. Breakfast same every day. Beds uncomfortable as old mattresses and quilts. Bathrooms small low ceilings no shower cubicle.
Good size room with lovely view out over sea.
Lovely views from the restaurant & bar, nice ambience in the breakfast hall, friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location.
Hotel lobby and everywhere downstairs always smelled of greasy cooking. Damp patches & peeling wallpaper and mould on the walls upstairs. Rooms were nothing special, tired, worn decor and dirty windows. Only a very few rooms have sea views
Nice location, breakfast was very good in a wonderful old style hall! You can hear the Irish Sea when you sleeping , it's wonderful !
A lot of steps, but for young people it's like a gym and it's ok. Not very good for granny's
