Falcons Nest Hotel  

Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Decor is a tad tired but the staff and excellent food more than made up for that.

we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room - beach facing was an added bonus. We attended the umpah evening on the friday - went up to peel for the irish folk group on the saturday (getting back from Peel in the evening a problem - something the theatre needs to consider) ate in the falcons nest on the Sunday - again excellent value - and the real ales yet another bonus - ideally situated for the steam train to Douglas

Nothing to dislike about the Falcons Nest - but the isle of Man tourist board need to develop a west side bus route connecting to Peel rather then having to go into Douglas and change. On a saturday evening direct bus route not available and a taxi £25.

Wonderful location right on the seafront. Good breakfast. Good parking facilities. Nice staff, although the girl at breakfast on the second morning could have made more of an effort. The railway station was right at the back of the hotel, with trains every two hours taking an hour to reach Douglas. Though why you would want to go to Douglas when staying in this gem of a town I don't know. Port Erin is truly the Jewel in the Crown of the Isle of Man.

On the first night (a Friday) there was a disco immediately below my room at the back of the hotel. As a result there was a constant thump thump of the beat between 7 p.m. And 11:30 p.m. which might not have been so bad if there had been recognisable music. The shower fitting leaked in such a way that the pine ceiling was sprayed perilously close to of the spotlight fittings. The small television was mounted in such a way above the desk that I banged my head on it no less than six times on it resulting in a cut to my forehead. It would better placed on the party wall of the bathroom to avoid this. The large double-glazed window was constantly obscured by moisture, indicating a leaking sealed unit. The girl at breakfast on the Sunday failed to welcome me or to enquire if I would like tea or coffee until I was halfway through my meal. I think she just needs a bit f training in giving more of a welcome. The person you first see at breakfast has the power to set the tone for the whole day, so a cheery welcome is vital.

Everything at the Falcons Nest was above the norm The food was exceptional and was more than enough for anyone.The rooms were clean and comfortable and I would certainly stay here again indeed I intend to rebook for September.EXCEPTIONAL Is not too strong a word to describe the Falcons Nest

This hotel is very well positioned in the beautiful bay of Port Erin. Our room was exceptionally good, it had a sea view and was very clean and well equiped.

unfortunately there was a lingering odour of cigarette smoke in the corridor outside our room. This was most unpleasant, especially as it blew into our room. There were 'no smoking' signs up on all the room doors and communal areas, so I cant think where this smell was coming from. This really should be sorted out as soon as possible.

The location was ideal for us taking part in an event in Port Erin. The food was very good and staff first class and views from the hotel were incredible.

The tariff had increased by £30 from the internet price when it came to paying the bill.

The staff were very friendly. The room I was allocated was a twin, very spacious, clean and with a sea-view. Breakfast was good. Happy to stay there again.

Very nice place, in front Port Erin Bay and close to the beach. Kind and helpful staff but no excessive fuss, clean and comfortable room with sea view, reasonable price... What more could anyone ask for?

Excellent location. Comfortable en-suite room. Good, attentive, pleasant staff. Good food. Good bars. Reasonable tariff. Infact we stayed for an extra third night.

We went as a family, The staff made us feel very comfortable. Tge bar at night was very relaxing, there is a wide choice of food on the menu. The rooms are very spacious, and clean. We will be going back.
