Decor a little tired in Le Jardin room & bathroom Decking area very tired & hot tub didn't feel private as another resident decided to have a mobile phone conversation right next to the trellised fence while my husband & I were in it.

Stayed for one night for our anniversay as we were married in Durham 5 years prior and we were not disappointed! The Fallen Angel is a beautiful hotel, nothing like we have stayed in before, the concept is matched by the execution and the finish in the rooms was excellent. We are aiming to experience as many of the rooms as we can over the coming months/year. The hot tub was an excellent addition as well and made our stay that little bit more special. Overall a wondeful experience, thanks Fallen Angel! The breakfast was also very enjoyable.

Room - All the rooms have interesting designs. Our garden room had a lovely big bed and features to persuade you you are in a garden but well done. We had a sauna and a hot tub on the patio which was fabulous - sitting in that in the evening was great. View over the cricket pitch and river was lovely too. Staff - all were very friendly and efficient. Chatted whilst serving food. Helpful when we asked for information. Food - both the evening meal and breakfast were very good.

The room was fantastic (we stayed in the Library), beautifully furnished, a huge bathroom featuring a corner bath with air bubbles. We ate at the Gatz Grill - the restaurant in the hotel and the food was excellent, the best 3 course meal I have had in a long time. I would highly recommend this hotel for a special occassion and will definitely be going back.

Individal themed room really unusual and enjoyable. Food excellent, staff really herlpful and in a great location for Durham city.

The whole hotel is amazing- location, reception, staff, rooms, extras and breakfast are all 5 star! Me and my partner stayed in Le Jardin (the garden) lodge with both hot tub and sauna and this room was brilliant! It was that good we ut our evening in Durham short to go back to the room! The bathroom has a wonderful shower and bath and we wanted for nothing!

Lovely style and comfort, big bathroom, high quality linen and toiletries, great food.

Could be noisy at weekends (I was staying midweek) as it is on a busy road with a lot of foot traffic as well as cars, into the night.

Relaxing , excellent location for shopping and eating at Zen Thai restauarant. The staff were lovely from the evening girls to the lovely lady at breakfast. Would love to return again and have recommended it to lots of friends.

The rooms were unusual, very well equipped and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was delicious and staff were lovely.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Very close to the centre. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Very good Thai restaurant around the corner.

The room we stayed in, being the Cruise Room, was very expensive for it's size. There was also no lift for taking the bags up to the room (we had to get to third floor). Also window slightly above the adjacent wall ventilation for what I assume was the kitchen. On the first night it woke us up at 2.30am. It was some time before we went back to sleep. When I spoke with reception in the morning it did not happen for rest of the stay.
