We attended a wedding - lovely setting. Very expensive for an average room - poor shower/bathroom, no bottled water

Having attended my daughter's wedding at Fanham's and stayed for the following night, my wife and I were most impressed at the service, food and friendliness of the staff. Our room was most comfortable. We had an excellent stay and would be happy to stay again.

Impressive, beautiful gardens, sympathetically extended. Would have liked mirror at dressing table. "Superior" description a bit misleading, but very comfortable none the less.

the room, small cramped and damp, the tea/coffe was hidden in the cupboard, we were over looking the car park, which kept us awake most of the night, wth the noise, and the head lights of the cars, yes the curtins were drawn

The organisation for our nieces wedding was excellent and the food was very good too. We all had an exceptional day. The grounds are very interesting and relaxing. for the price the bedroom (36) was far too small for this type of hotel at that price. Nowhere to put the unpacked suitcase and too little hanging space especially for all the gear you need at a wedding. The shower was very good.

The setting was picture postcard and the location suited our needs. Overall the stay as pleasant, our rooms were clean and we did not encounter any problems Although we found better pricing online for room rates for doubles, no room rate was found for twins and when I enquired about it directly to the hotel, no deals were offered forcing us to book twins at the standad rate.

I arrived later than anticipated and was very impressed with the warmth and efficiency of my welcome and the speed with which I was processed and shown to my upgraded room which was very comfortable and clean. I ate out on the night of my arrival but enjoyed a good English Breakfast the following morning in a lovely setting by a lake.Food was good and service minimal as diy buffet service. The fact that on this occasion I was unable to stay longer to enjoy more of their facilities!

The location of the hotel was lovely. The hotel looked splendid and was full of character and we were looking forward to using the facilities of the hotel. Unfortunately which no one tells you on booking is that if there is a wedding on , you as a hotel guest cant actually use the facilities. We were refused entry into the hotel as the wedding party had taken over all the bars, drawing room set up for next day . we fully understand we were not allowed into wedding venue but we were not allowed into the bar , which I asked a few days before that it was ok. We had in our party my in laws who are 80 and after coming back from dinner wanted to go to the bar lounge which was not where the wedding party was but we were refused entry. And told we could go back to one of our rooms . totally unacceptable

The location of Fanhams Hall is beautiful aswell as the the building itself which is full of character and surrounded by beautiful grounds. Me and my partner have stayed here before and was disappointed with our stay this time round. We paid the same amount as before however the room we stayed in this time was such a dissapointment it was small and cramped (no room down sides of beds, cupboard wouldn't fully open as it was too close to the bed, kettle and coffee etc was in a small box inside the cupboard.)& not decorated to a high standard. The bathroom had stray black hairs scattered around & wasn't clean. We have stayed at other places in this area for less money & got a room of a higher quality! I'm not one to moan but the room we had stayed in previously here, was up to a much higher standard & was lovely which is why we decided to go back. But in general I was disappointed with the value for money. If I was to return again I would have to ask for a higher quality room as I felt I was being ripped off a little.

The setting was lovely. The view from our room overlooked the countryside which was fantastic to wake up to. The grounds of the hotel were very beautiful The bed in the room was very uncomfortable and hard and the room had no bottles of water, which I would have expected for the amount they charge for the rooms. The room size was very small and basic and did not reflect the cost at all. I would not stay again because it is too expensive for what you actually get.

We were very dissapointed with our "superior deluxe double room" which we paid extra for as it was a tiny room and we had to take it in turns to get ready!!

Lovely location and gardens generally helpful and friendly staff. The superior room was nice but tiny so pricey for that size. Service at breakfast was poor but the breakfast itself excellent

“The location was good - for us, reception fine, the room had every amenity we required and was very comfortable, all good value for the (reasonable) price we paid. The (apparently inexpensive) menu made us wish we had no dining commitment for the evening and the bar itself was pleasant. The breakfast was excellent.Throughout the staff were friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay again.” Ed, Bristol |
