Farmers Arms  

Awesome staff, great food, amazing views, brilliant rooms with lots of little extras. Had the best time! They even gave us some anti-freeze for our car in the morning.

Completyely exceeded all expectations for the price. The accommodation and the food was excellent. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would have no hesitation in staying there again and in inviting my friends and colleagues to do the same.

We stayed at the Farmers Arms regularly approx 25 years ago, until we had children. If anything it has improved from all those years ago but still retaining it's "Olde World", traditional atmosphere. Also the accommodation, beer & food were excellent. We will be staying again in the New Year.

Very hospitable, welcoming,good food, clean and comfortable accommodation and an easy location from main roads to all the Southern Lakes beauty spots.

Beautiful building with friendly staff and excellent food. Our room was immaculate and well equipped with fantastic power shower and the most comfortable bed. Location is remote but no need for anything else as facilities great with friendly bar and top class restaurant - would highly recommend and will difinitely visit again.

Low beams are a hazard for tall people who keep forgetting to duck !!!

Good selection of ales, in a tradition pub, plenty of parking , middle of nowhere , rooms were very olde worlde !! lots of exposed low beams

Showers were very poor, breakfast was rushed through , seemed they could not wait to get the kitchen closed in the evening

We stayed at the Farmers arms for our mini moon and the staff were very friendly and after my wife asked for headache tablets the mangers husband asked me if she was feeling better (which you wouldn't get at a chain type hotel, I used to work at one which is how I know), we were made to feel really welcome and it really feels like a cosy family run hotel. We will definely be returning to the farmers arms (hopefully later this year!) its a bit of a distance from the town if you dont drive....but being in the country makes up for that as the scenery from the hotel is beautiful, I would definetly recommend this hotel to my friends that are planning trips to the lake district
